Hi Apostle Joe, I love this new Ford Mustang GT Convertible "The Apostle to the Muscle Cars" and I think this S650 platform looks. Like I've said before, I really love the fake corner vents because without them, the gray corners would look rather plain jain on the metal.
I have to disagree, it misses on a few crucial key points.. I was very seriously considering purchasing one, until I heavily researched them. The Camaro 1LE is closer to the perfect muscle/sports car, compared to the Mustang (GT, anyway.)
As a lifetime Pony Car owner, l concur that this Gen of Stang is sharper. That has not been the case since the 67 Camaro, which was way cooler than the humble Mustang.IMHO
Same, I'm a Camaro girl. My twin is a Mustang girl. We're fraternal for a reason I guess 😅. Whenever we go out we always get asked how come we didn't get the same car. Camaro fits me better. We switched cars for a short period but I instantly missed my baby boy. The Mustang interior did an overkill with the screens, one would have been more than enough. I like my traditional gauges, also the center console is deeper in my 23' Camaro. Camaro has a more aggressive look. I'm the older twin, my Camaro is black so people instantly know I'm the oldest and I mean business 😂
The touch screens set off the dash are bad news. Joe, you're doing a good job trying to sell them. Still quite happy w/my '21 GT/6 manual, options galore😁 The new dash layout is a Zonk with a capital Z.
Those screens are what made me go ahead and pull the trigger and get a 2022 vs waiting for the 2024. The re-design was nice but I just couldn't get over those screens lol
The rear end looks like a dented soda can. My twin has one. I have a 23' Camaro. I'm the older twin. There's a reason why she trails behind me, I can't get over the rear end if I'm driving behind her. Plus twin A comes before twin B 😅
You're also right about handling. As soon as I drove her Mustang I was like nope, had to get back in my Camaro quick 😂 she always complains that the Camaro hood is too long.
Wow, Joe the convertible Mustang looks amazing top up or down, especially in the silver & black!!! Great video! Did you experience any glare on the two screens with the top down???? I know that there isn’t any glare in the coupe. Nice comparison to the Camaro. The coyote engine is definitely superior especially if you add a Super Charger (SC)! As you said in the video the sitting position & view while driving is much better in the Mustang. Why did you switch? I have a blacked out 23' Camaro. My twin has a carbonized gray 24' Mustang with the nite pony package. The 6th Gen Camaro was the best one. 🥹 Hopefully they'll bring it back.
Seems like FORD is loaded with those 24' Mustangs. It would be nice to see if FORD finally got the 24' Rangers and F150s in! We gotta see the first drive!
Joe, great review as always. Just watched the video on the Camero. That one's great too. I can't stand those huge screens. An hour after you drive that car off the lot that screen will be covered in finger prints.
Been going back and forth between the Mustang, Challenger and Camaro. I like the Camaro just because I've had a few Firebirds in the past but never had the Camaro (preferred the firebird Styling), The Challenger just because I like the Larger size and the 60s look, and the Mustang because I'm older and so the tech packages (like their driving convenience packages, whatever they call it) is pretty appealing when i just want to relax and not "Drive".
Okay, I am willing to admit I am a Mustang guy. Presently on number 7 which is a 2016 GT convertible in triple yellow. I just finished watching the Camaro segment and I keep getting hung up on the boast of the torque. Yes it has 30 more Ft/lbs BUT it takes 1.2L more engine to get it! Regardless, enjoyed both videos.
Even though the cassettes were made of plastic (largely) but it was one those plastics we love to keep, along with a octagon ball point pen for an occasional fix. 🤣
The Camaro and Mustang had interesting marketing, Chevrolet was going for the value proposition with the Camaro SS, and they packed it with a lot of standard equipment where Mustang went with something akin to the old Mustang 5.0 LX and then could be optioned up to reach the same level of equipment as the Camaro SS. When the cars were introduced, the Camaro had a little higher price of entry compared to the base Mustang and when the Mustang was optioned up to match the Camaro it would end up more expensive. Ford still follows the same marketing program; you can step into a base Mustang GT which is again more akin to the old LX Mustangs (albeit with the standard level of equipment modern cars come with) and unfortunately a base GT is nearly 43k these days and you can option it up with the Performance Pack and get essentially a Camaro SS (base) for nearly 50k and the equivalent of the SS 1LE is the Dark Horse w/handling pack for nearly 68,500.
I like the roomyness of the Mustang. I would like to at least see an option for a tonto cover, and I'm not a big fan of the billboard style infotainment. I would go with the Mustang over the Camaro.

A big improvement on 2018 to 2023 s550 outside styling. More in keeping with 2015 -2017 styling better looking.

All great except the ridiculous screens, not integrated and they lost the awesome traditional gauges.

Drove both 2024 cqmaro ss and 2024 ford mustang gt. Bought the gt. Mustang sounded better, was faster. Wish i had the money to buy both though.
