I worked at Outback Steakhouse night shift in 1996… after work we went around the block to the fry cooks apartment Andy, there we would have acoustic guitar jams until 3 am. He was good and I learned a lot there.
The outback steakhouse bit was almost word for word from his comedy Album 'Feelin' Kinda Patton'. If you think about it, it's the comedian version of a guest band doing the single from their latest album.
When I moved in with my wife, I found a strange thing in the kitchen drawer that sort of resembled the handle of an old electric toothbrush. (Easy now!) It was a thing you stick a tootsie pop stick in, and it TURNS THE SUCKER FOR YOU! It ran on an AA battery. Now, I was pro lazy as a kid. Seriously, I thought I had game. But THIS was beyond even MY slothful skills.
You can really see how he practiced that routine; all of the inflection points and tones are exactly the same as on the album. It's a little painful seeing him try to do it conversationally and just launch into the entire bit, but it really is such a well-written piece. lol

I like Patton's comedy except when he gets political because I think it's makes no sense to take sides. both republicans and democrats are equally stupid and deserving to be made fun of - singling out only republicans or only democrats just shows your bias and that you are not being real. and if you can't see this you're just not looking.
No. No they’re not. There is nothing stupider than allowing a bloated orange sex criminal to lead your party. The dems have never even come close to that level of sheer idiocy.
Say you don’t really pay attention to politics except for talking points without actually saying you don’t really pay attention to politics except for talking points.
This is such a bizarre take. The NSDAP won multiple duly-held elections in Germany before Hitler took control of the entire government. Does this mean it would have been unfairly "biased" to criticize the Nazis? Large political parties and their members can be outright wrong about important things, sometimes way more often than other political parties and their members. Large numbers of people being ignorant about exactly this issue is what allowed the Nazis to gain power in the first place. Please try to keep that sort of thing in mind before imagining that you are being "unbiased." It's not as intelligent or helpful as you think it is.

They should've let y'all do concerts in the dining room
I love that Outback was standing in for Black Angus in that bit
Due to the advertisers
Yeah, same bit, just swapped out the names. It's funnier when Black Angus because of the rugged cowboy vibe, etc.
"A deep-fried pumpkin stuffed with buttered scallops" This is a very funny bit.
Still love his KFC bowls bit and the time he corrected his college Physics professor on insignificant Star Trek lore…
His bit on the kfc double down is another classic
The outback steakhouse bit was almost word for word from his comedy Album 'Feelin' Kinda Patton'. If you think about it, it's the comedian version of a guest band doing the single from their latest album.
Happens all the time. It's great when done clever.
He switched out Black Angus for Outback.
It’s how it works for late night tv, especially back then. They do a bit from whatever tour they are on. Been happening since the Steve Allen show.
Where's the bit on "Ruth's Chris?" Where's the culturally insensitive slurs? I miss the unedited version, lol
It is Black Angus Steak house!
This was one of those bits that was in my head for years.
Patton Oswalt was right. Hamburglar says "robble robble."
This is correct.
Also whatever happened to Hamburgler?
@@AC3handle Ronald became a billionaire. He had him dealt with.

Patton Oswalt is always right

That was such a great duo performance, they both dug deep for that one, hilarious!
This morphed into the Black Angus bit.
I love that slogan too! "Beef it's what's for dinner. SO SHUT YOUR TRAP! YOU'RE GETTIN BEEF, YA JACKWAGON!!!"

It is "Robble, robble." After the theft, it's "We've been hamburgled!"
It's the Black Angus bit, but it's still hilarious.
The irony is no one in Australia has even heard of Outback Steakhouse.
I recall Jemaine Clement doing an Outback ad....he's from New Zealand lol
O started in Tampa FL 🥩
Gotta love standup bits in the guise of an interview.
Well, then it's sit-down, not standup.

Hamburgler said “Rubble Rubble”. I know, I’m truly old now.
Conan had no idea that he would be appearing at Largo for most of 2020.
Straight from the Conan canon.📖
Wow can't believe how long ago this was. I think I saw this live.
Seems Black Angus got out-bid-backed.
LOVE PATTON !!
I missed those good old days 😔
missed? When did you stop missing?
@@einundsiebenziger5488 we have an English teacher
Har-Mar Superstar shirt on Patton!
A quick google search confirms what I assumed. Patton was right about the Hamburgler's gibberish.
I wonder if Outback threatened to sue because Patton changed the restaurant to Black Angus on the album.
I assume Outback just offered Patton more money. BA got out-bid-backed.
@@t.s.adrian8785 Or maybe they sent him a threatening bobblehead like the CEO of Yum Brands after the Famous Bowls bit.

And now we have Tomboy Outback Steakhouse.
Literally (used correctly) the worst steak I was ever served was at an Outback Steakhouse.
Yo these cats ain’t aging, this vid looks twenty years old
No doubt inspiration for that Family Guy sketch
This was originally BLACK ANGUS but the show caved to the advertiser who is Outback.
Was it only me who imagined he was Jesse talking right now
It's definitely "Robble Robble"
awesome
Mayor McCheese
that was the bit for BLACK ANGUS not OUTBACK...lol
Funny guys. For sure 😂
I have a feeling that guest is about to prevent me from owning a California lionfish... 🤔
The Hamburgler said "robble robble," not "burgle burgle." Sorry Conan.
"This war"? Lemme see what year this is.
It would've been 30% funnier had Patton bothered to do an Australian accent.
Not the gravy pipe!
🤣🤣🤣
so is it "Burgle Burlge" or "Rubble Rubble"?
It’s robble robble.
While wearing a Red Star on his shirt.
Good god your mind must be a sad and lonely place.
It’s a Har Mar Superstar shirt btw.
Where can I get these “pants” that you speak of? Tired of flopping around in the wind :/
What a weird question for an opener
It would be, if it wasn’t pre-planned to lead into what Patton wanted to talk about.
I like this bit, but it seems too lopsided to be on a talk show
Patton the🤡🤡🤡🤡
Patton Douchwalt.
Wow aren't you clever!
he killed his wife
