I have it for over a year and i can't say it's fitting for anything longer than 30min ride. The air vents blocked will definitely make an impact, pressed nose protector and chin curtains also not very nice thing. I thought i might know how to use this thing properly, but it never failed me. Doesn't move around, can't break. At least mine. Cheers

Just ordered one today from eBay..$10 , can’t wait to get it :-)
Since that appears to be a modular helmet, doesn't it not only block the release lever, but it also blocks the front vent right? I was looking at one of these for my Schuberth modular, but not at the expense of blocking my vents or release catch.
I've started using it on my HJC i70 and is not bad - especially for the price. The only really negative thing is it's not rock steady so it can move left, right a bit. Other than that it is very good.
A visor lid won't close entirely (it looks like it but you don't hear this click sound when closing), but I don't feel any wind leaking through. Cheers!

The first you had on helmet I have it but when I hit bumps or anything it tilts sometimes thinking about getting that second one you showed

Actually not feeling them at all. I’ve tucked the straps inside the knot so that helps. Cheers

Awww mate. That's brilliant Alf. I've spent two evenings looking at chin mounts, looking for a LONGER chain type, as my lid is a flip lid, and I have seen these black and blue :"Thongs", and was a) too manly, and b) too clueless to "Twig" what they were all about - now sorted mate - after buying the bloody chain type version his morning !!!. I've subscribed as a result mate. My kind of age, my kind of biker. Ride on brother - and cheers Alf !!!

Looking to get something like the waffle chin mount, though im concerned about being able to close the visor. Does it still allow you to fully close your visor, or is there a crack?
yes there is a slight crack but depends on the helmet too
Hey Alf, I have a Sony POV and as an extra bit of insurance, I have a small wrist strap, not much bigger than fishing line and I tether the camera dock to the bike, so if the 3M fails my camera stays with the bike, not tumbling down the road. Cheers.

Hi Alf. I was always struggling to figure out the best way to attach my GoPro to the chin of my helmet as well. I ran across a company that custom fits the chin mount to your specific helmet and the installation was easy. I just did a review on my channel if you are interested and want to check it out. The problem with the SHOOT is that the strap smashed down the chin curtain of my Shoei Neotec 2. I noticed the Shark does not seem to have a chin curtain which would make the install MUCH easier, yes? Great video, thanks!

I have had a hero 3 for years and barely had any issues with the old double-sided type but did find it started to fail after a year even when I use a much stronger double-sided tape or so just recently decided to finally upgrade to a hero 5 black because year not paying the price for anything newer, also decided to get this new strap system as it's only $10 and by what you say seems like it will have less chance of failing.

Yes it's fine actually but I still use other mount types too depending on the situation
My dismal attempts at a helmet mount end up looking like the robot arm of the space shuttle. (Trying to get the back tilt you mentioned) Been looking for something the right profile for my Schuberth Basic, but not found it yet, this looks like it might cover the latch on a flip front. was that a Flip front helmet?
Yes it's still far enough away not to be a hindrance. For a standard gopro case it is great but for a gopro case with the extra holder for the mic adapter (artman) then it has to be mounted upside down I've found but still is great. You'll see on my next video how it looks. Cheers

Thanks so much. Actually I rarely use it but this is not because of itself as it works great. It is actually because I use my GoPro is another housing which has extra bits attached so I can only mount it upside down.
If I was just using the camera naked then I would most likely use it a lot more especially in the summer. Cheers

Do those mounts work on the Akaso cameras? I think they are all compatible with GoPro accessories.
not that I found no but I suppose it depends on the helmet too

Sir, I have that exact helmet and am having fits trying to find a way to get a GoPro on it and getting the camera at the right position. The top mount won't work due to the flip up chin bar. Far side mount won't work due to the angle it forces on the camera. I would love to be able to mount mine as you have yours showing in the early part of the video. What exact mount are you using? I have many accessories but none of them seem to place the camera at the right position. On GoPro's site I don't even find a chin mount accessory. Can you furnish a link to all the parts I would need to set mine up like you have yours? I would GREATLY appreciate your help.
Also, that SHOOT chin strap - It looks like the straps cover up the chin bar release on the Evoline. Are you still able to work the red button on the chin bar easily? And when you flip the chin bar, is there any interference by the straps, or is there any other inconvenience from the device when moving the chin bar fully in its rotation?

Thanks. So I never used that helmet in flip mode so that’s why that strap covering up the button wasn’t an issue.
As for the go pro mount actually it’s just a standard chin mount from eBay or Amazon that I used. Cheers
@@RevelatorAlf Thanks. But that SHOOT mount has poor reviews, and if it covers the release button on the Evoline, there's not much point in having an Evoline. The whole point of that helmet is the flip, and if you are just going to keep it in place all the time, then you shouldn't even use an Evoline and just buy a Shoei or an Arai. I did purchase a GoPro labeled "Helmet Mount + Side Mount" kit, but it does not have the same parts you used on yours. Can you kindly provide a link to precisely what I need to achieve that which you used?

I'd say most for sure
But it WILL INTEFERE with the modular release button and vent flow.

You can’t use this on a premium helmet. The chin wind and noise protection mesh will not allow it. Plus you cannot close the visor all the way and the most important part, It’s chocking the air vent.
I suppose it depends on how much you really need that air vent and actually my visor does lock down with it. Perhaps yours is very different

What's it like looking out of the helmet? Can you notice a big camera on your chin all the time, I imagine you could constantly see it

Really depends on what you’ll use it for but a hero black is your best overall option

They are poor quality and I’ve used them on my off road helmet, after the 3rd one cracked I gave up on them, would not recommend them 😬

That mount is absolutely NOT the best chin mount. It is not completely steady and the visor of his helmet cannot close completely. He should have tested it BEFORE filming to see the flaw. I bought one and returned it. In my opinion it is garbage.
