It's all done now, and the grass is starting to overgrow the rows. I'm guessing you will be able to see the old rows because of erosion over the years. I may actually like it that way 🤔
Hi Mojo, nice video, that I would imagine was a lot of work to say the least, the now vacant land would make a nice pasture,I can just envisage a couple of jersey cows masticating all that lovely pasture and making milk, butter, cream and cheese, just a rhought🐮🐄🐄🐄🐮🧀🥛🧈🍦🍨
Thanks Larry! We have gone back and forth for years about pasturing Jersey (for beef). Either that or sheep. The problem is the fencing needs to be triple barbed wire with an electrified top wire for the cattle, and again, you don't make much money from cattle. We still may do feeder sheep at some point though. Izzy would love that! 😉
Thanks J! Pulling that steel was pretty exhausting - but it was one of those things where you have to finish it, because you don't want to do it again tomorrow! 😉
First visit here. Just planted (2000 vines) 2024. Interested in your trellis system. Planning angled 5"endposts with screw anchors, but see you have used double posts with a cross member as well as a cable. It seems a bit overbuilt. No?
@@PlanetMojo As a winemaker, the industry has had a slight correction mostly down to the fact that old marketing methods arent resonating with younger consumers who want to drink wine but want more of a involved experience than has been common. Once the industry plays catch up things will correct and I can guarantee in 5-10 years you will wish you still had the vineyar.d
That's a lot of work! It will be interesting seeing that as a field again.

Those T bar posts are tough metal. Sometimes they make the good ones out of used rail. No wonder it was hard to cut. Great video my friend 👍😎😊
Thanks Dave! They actually advertised that they were made from recycled rail and not just any old scrap metal. Good stuff! 😊
@@PlanetMojo 👍😊
Best to sink, and pull, those t-posts when the ground is wet.
I agree! The ground was actually very wet. We've had an insanely wet spring. 💧💧💧😮
It must have taken a long time to put all of that stuff in! Do you remember how long it took?
I believe it took two long days to put the steel in.
Nobody is ever gonna call you lazy or say you are afraid of hard work! I am tired from watching this one!

Angles end posts will work great!
It still hurts that you had to take out the vineyard.
Unfortunately, all of the vineyards in this area are shutting down. Costs have gone way up, and people are drinking much less wine. 😐

Hi! What happened to the grapes that you are removing?
The vines are stacked-up waiting to be burned.
Ok, but why burn them , why don't u want to keep them?
@@Anna-b4x2w I saved a few for smoking meats, and have no use for the rest.
