- An Easy Way For $2 To Clear BMW "Passenger Restraint System" Error Code
Hello I have a very nice car BMW m5 e60 ,automated driving machine and it is very powerful
and comfortable very nice. However ,recently it has a passenger restraint system errors displayed on my dashboard. Have done some research and found out this error happens on BMW m5 and most models are 5 Series. In this video, I am going to demonstrate how to remove it without paying thousands thousand dollars to dealers or other technicians.
Passenger restraint system error displayed the one the BST cable got worn or the passenger underneath mat got worn out or BST cable got damaged when battery was changed. Basically the error code that complains the electric resistor is too high. It is a false alarm and does not impact the functionalities. I am showing you how to remove the annoying errors by adding a 2 ohm resistors.
Step 1: open the trunk and locate the BST cable. Look, the red and big cable is a BST cable.
We just need to cut the cable the black small cable connect to the BST cable.
Remove it or take it out by click the connector.
Step 2: Get a 2 ohm resistor
Then solder the resistors to the cable. Strip the insulation of wires. Then twist them together to connect the wire with the resistor. Prepare for soldering them together. Connect the other end, and solder them together. Then add insulation cover. You can use the installation tape or using other insulation tube from other wares. Close its two ends to close properly. Now it's very good it's good enough.
Step 3: just take it back and install by clicking the connectors
Step 4: Reset and clean the error code in the history by using this USB and obd2 cable.
Connect this cable with the car obd2 interface and the computer software and I use INPA software to reset the error code, to clean the error code. You can also buy a code reader from auto
parts store or download other softwares online.
Now ready to reset. So, first of all, you choose the E60 of this car.
Then you have a pop up and display the submenu. Then you choose the general functionalities. Clear the error codes. And also clear the error code history. Exit and all set.
So now it's a show time. We can see the magic comes. So the magics comes with a price of two dollars.

Good job
Oitstanding video @AmericanLife365 . One question though, i have a 2008 bmw m6 and i cant find the cable to cut that you have in your video. Any idea where i should look ? 2:03 1:25
I was wondering if you could tell me where to buy the resistor I see soo many types on Amazon not sure which one is the correct one and many thanks
Hi I have 335i e90, does that take 2 ohm resistor aswell?
What was the error code displayed in INPA?
Where is this located on a 320d e90?
I’m wondering - OK you have fixed the error BUT is the airbag now going to work in case of an accident? Can you confirm please?
At the beginning of the video you cut the cord housing the resister from the system. You don't show how you reconnected this cord after repair.
Learned from other videos to make sure the yellow wire is properly connected. Can lose connection from adjusting the seat, vacuuming, storing items under seat....
i guess I am kind of randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to watch newly released movies online ?
@Eduardo Declan flixportal :)
@Nathaniel Bode thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D Appreciate it!!
@Eduardo Declan You are welcome :D
Hi @Live Love Hollister - Jerry & Christina Realtors, can you advise where the yellow wire is located? Is that accessible without removing the seat mat? Any reference for that? Thanks.
Hello Charles my BMW X6 was up for sale and 2 men turned up to look at it 1 of them shook the drivers seat very bad say they have problems with the X6 range of drivers seats come loose it was a scam to get car cheaper
Will this work on my 2006 530i?
It's an e60
it will cleared my 07 385i
my dont work i i did exactly same thing 2om resistor and reset by inpa software but the light still on i dont know what i missed
Thanks buddy I have 2 ohm and solder kit on way from Amazon already have reader. Hopefully my magic moment is like yours so my drivers seat starts working again and heat. Both are inop with passenger restraint fault!
After solder together, then use inpa or other scanner to clear error history. It should work. I did this for my friend car too. It worked perfectly.
When you whant to show how we must do it on the pc make a clear video..but thx
Do you think this will solve error code: 0093f8 / ZK17 / Anchor Fitting driver?
most likely. Passenger restraint error is related to it. You should check with dealer find out if it is in recall list.
I have the driver restraint system failure on a BMW 2013 X3, can this procedure work too? Thanks!!!!
Did you fix it??
@@Antsazon yes, just with a scanner.
Not an obd reader right bc I tried the code don’t pop up I’ll prolly just go to a mechanic who had a scanner
@Antsazon the scanner is like 10 years old, but still capable of using it. Has been working for a month without any codes, hopefully was just that.
Buy the B800 airbag and abs tool for BMW for 25$ & it'll erase it
What you did with the other end of the wire?
You can leave the other end alone or wrapped up with electric tape.
Does it needs to be exacly 2 ohms , cauze i have some 2k s
not really, try it if it works. otherwise buy it from online or Frys.
I tried 2k and it didn't work? Did it work for you?
No i solved it with 2 ohms
93CF passenger front right door airbag, doesn't says anything about battery
By this way does the airbag still working ? What did we cut off exactly
This does not affect the airbag....but, it will affect the BST functionality to disconnect the battery when the airbag goes off.
Could I get your copy of inpa?
Do you have an email address? I have the same issue on my 2016 428i ...the battery setup is different and would like to send picture to confirm the wire.

Bonjour vous avez vous réglé le problème avec ce défaut ?
So what is the proper way to fix this?
New BST cable or new chair mat sensor
Nobody saw that 6mpg 😎
Did Muhammad Ali video this 😂😅😂 never seen anybody’s hand shake so much 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I cut mine for my bmw 525xi e60. Now it won’t start. Haven’t even got to add the 2ohm resistor part but tried to connect it back normally and now my car isn’t starting. Any suggestions? Should I add the 2ohm? I’m stressed out please help anyone. I get no crank or anything.
Can you check your car electric breaker? Most likely you broken it when you cut the cable. Secondly, try to connect your cut line back to see if you can get crank.
美國生活365 - American Life 365 where is car electric breaker? I’ve tried connecting it back and no crank no nothing. I’m getting about 14.6 volt too. I’ve connected where I cut too. I’ve tried jumping the car too.
美國生活365 - American Life 365 are you in us? Can you message me or what’s app me? Thanks. I’m so stressed right now.
I am in California.
My car has 2 fuse boxes, one is located under the trunk body undercover passenger side. the other is under hood passenger side. It is hide in the vent pipe which is easy to unassemble.
