How to Clear BMW Error P0420 and P0430 for $5 ? "Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold" Fixed

Hello, Charles from American life 365. In this video, I will share with you how I cleared the BMW error code P0420 for Bank 1 and P0430 for Bank 2, which is catalytic converter efficiency blows threshold. Its severity is 2 out of 3 and needs to be repaired immediately. BMW 'Service engine soon' light was on and the engine power was reduced.
I used my INPA software to find errors in details. I got 7 error codes. The explanation is in German. The first one is 278F, which is an IBS communication error. This is an error of the intelligent battery system. This is irrelevant. Then P0420 catalytic system efficiency is lower than the threshold in Bank 1, and then error P0430 in Bank 2 . Then following are the error CDBD, 2B57 and P1636 throttle value control circuit. Some of these errors may be fault errors. First, clear the catalytic error code
In order to better understand catalytic errors, let us talk about the basic concept of catalytic converter. The name of catalytic converter speaks for itself. What is catalytic converter? Catalysis refers to the acceleration of chemical reactions, that is to decompose something into other things through something. This is the principle that catalytic converter burns exhaust gas into harmless air through high temperature. Basically, catalytic converter accumulates the heat of the exhaust from engine to burn the exhaust gas itself. If a cat is working, it should have a very high temperature (over 700 degrees Fahrenheit) to burn the exhaust gas. By comparing the values from upstream o2 sensor which is before cat and downstream o2 sensor after cat, the car engine computer can adjust the fuel entering the engine for combustion to maintain engine power.
From the above how cat works, it provides us with clues on how to check whether a cat is working. We can check whether the cat's body is in a high temperature state. If the cat is in a high temperature state, it means that the cat has not been physically damaged or malfunction. It works maybe just efficiently lower. On the other hand, we can check the downstream o2 sensor, it should maintain a certain value to keep the efficiency of the catalytic converter stable. If it shows a very fluctuating value similar to the upstream o2 sensor, it means that the catalytic converter is damaged.
Since the structure of catalytic converter is similar to a honeycomb or sponge, it will eventually be clogged with smoke particles, debris or waste. Its efficiency will slowly decrease. I think this is the most common occurrence in catalytic converters. Using paint thinner to clean converter is indeed effective. Whether paint thinner can clean the catalytic converter to eliminate errors P0420 or P0430 is controversial. Some ppl said works while others said never do this. After I have done some research, I believe the using paint thinner to clean cats should be safe, effective cost less. Let me show you how I clear out P0420 and P0430 by paint thinner.
At first, I have to check whether the efficiency of the catalytic converter bellows threshold was caused by physical damage or not.
I used 1.5 Galen paint thinner to pour it into the fuel tank. There is 60% gas in the fuel tank. Because my BMW has 4 catalytic converters, I used more thinner instead of 1 gallon.

1 gallon paint thinner with 8 gallon fuel for a 4-6 cylinder engine

It's the same code. The P codes are generic obd codes and the 278A are BMW Specific codes. However I don't recommend this at all.
