Is he a musician as well? His knowledge of music theory and instrumentation is impressive. Chaka is the main focus of my master’s thesis topic and I learned a few things from Jack’s review. Nice!
People forget how great a singer Chaka is.
I never forgot, saw her a few years ago live and she was as good as when I saw her in the 70s
This is old school grown folks music ❤
The video for this song was shot at the Union Train Station in Los Angeles during the summer of 1984. This song was a crossover hit for Chaka Khan. It did well on the Billboard Soul chart. It peaked at the #15 spot during the early winter of 1985. On the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it peaked at the #60 spot. This song was written by Canadian singer-songwriter David Foster.
This woman is like a firework going off to me....she can give me REAL TINGLES with her voice and her lyrics...Rufus and her.."Do You Love What You Feel"...great tune....not forgetting "I Feel For You" "I Know You, I Live You", "What Cha Gunna Do For Me"... She is a Living Legend!!!!
I remember recording some Chaka for a buddy once I got him hooked. I went to visit him one day and saw him walking to his house. He had on headphones and looked pissed. When I got to him and took a few of his grocery bags he angrily snatched off the headphones saying, get this hollering itch out my ears. His first lesson you don't play Chaka at high volume unless you understand it's gonna be a funky ride.
Chaka - I feel for you ❣🔥❣
My favorite Chaka song, "Love You All My Live Time". Love it!
Rufus feat chaka Khan- Sweet Thing, it's one of their biggest songs
One of my all time favorites!
Yes, please! Amazing song.
Chaka Khan is so iconic she is great!!!!!!!!
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a method to log back into an instagram account??
I was stupid forgot my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Allen Khari Instablaster ;)
Chaka Khan is the QUEEN
Chaka is my favorite female vocalist. Miles Davis once said she sounded like his trumpet! Her voice is a true instrument. BTW she hated Kanye’s “Through The Wire”! She wasn’t a fan of her sped up vocals..and I agree. Lol
I've always loved Chaka Khan, but it wasn't until a few years ago when I heard her cover "Diamonds are Forever" that I realized her voice is an instrument all in itself. She's so amazing!!
Kanye is nowhere near the same Stratosphere as Chaka Khan!
Loving the sensual chair dancing!
Loose Ends "Hanging on a String"
Yepppppp . No other voice out there like ChaKa.
Chaka is definitely a force! FYI Chaka performs all the background vocals on 90-95% of her catalogue which is why her sound is so easily identifiable! I hope you find time to react to her cover of the Michael Jackson classic "Got To Be There".
I love seeing young people connect this fabulous artist.
Chaka Khan can blow and her rage is unreal with the power you ain't heard nothing yet. Listen to her sing "At Midnight."
Here's a little known fact about this song : The original title for this song was CHAKA it was written by David Foster for his album the best of me[1983] it was an instrumental piece about CHAKA KHAN ! Also, i believe Chaka's name means "woman of FIRE" !!!
Chaka is a diva. That voice is fire. React to Got To Be There by Chaka Khan, it's a remake of your boy Michael Jackson
Absolutely Darnell!!! Jack, you'd really appreciate the range and various colors of Chaka's voice on "Got To Be There", you won't be disappointed!
Speaking of "Got To Be There", if you really want your mind blown, listen to the Michael Jackson original, followed immediately by the Chaka version.
Oh my gosh 😍 I've been waiting for a Chaka Khan song for forever.
Through the fire is one of my favorites and is the song that made me a chakaholic you should definitely do "ain't nobody" or "I feel for you" next.
Chaka Khan "Ain't Nobody" !!! Gotta react to that one too !! Great channel.
Chaka khan is my Queen
'Sweet Thang' by Chaka Khan will blow your whole mind Jack. You ain't ready, lol.
Chaka is one of the most beautiful women to me. Love her!!!
According to my research the song was recorded in 1984 and released in 1985.
I remember hearing the song as a kid but I've never watched a video.
I love the song.
Can you please review:
" I feel for you by" Chaka Khan.
Through the fire is written and produced by David Foster. HE is one of the hit maker producers and writers together with Baby Face and Dianne Warren.
One of my favorite Chaka Khan songs is "Papillon (Hot Butterfly)". It was co-written with Luther Vandross - you can hear him singing in the hook. By the way, have you reacted to Luther yet? Dude! If not, do "Never Too Much"
Yaaasss!
She has been one of my favorite singer, since I first heard her sing when I was 10yrs. old I am now 57 yrs. old.
Didn't know about Luther writing the hooks, and singing in the background.Love getting info that I didn't know.👍
You young folks betta recognize the legends. 🤣
Chaka Khan is EVERYTHING!!!! I luv her and her music so much!
Oh yes! Chaka can hit notes you can't even think about.
❤️❤️ Chaka
This song would bring a tear to my eye.
Chaka Khan is one of the ALL TIME greats!!! And this is my favorite Chaka song. Much love.
There were a lot of love songs by African American female artists that told of the strength and depth of our love.
It’s raining men by the weather girls
HELL YEAH Ms. Chaka Khan 🥰 3:57 - 4:05 That's actually Los Angeles Union Station Jack, where the video was shot 🤗 4:10 "good visual setting though". I agree totally 😊 great reaction

Great Reaction Jack. This song was the bomb when it first came out. Thanks.😍😘🎈

The video for Through The Fire was actually filmed inside Los Angeles Union Train Station, which has such huge stained glass windows that it gives off the look of a church in the video. Amazing song of hers.
Hi Jack! Please react to Chaka Khan's "I feel for you," written by Prince. It's one of my favs from the 80's thanks!😉
Kci and Jojo life
Aretha Franklin a rose is still a rose
Isley Brothers contagious
Seal a kiss from a rose.
This is one song that's on my greatest list. 🤗 Thanks Jack 🙏✌
Here's a little known fact about this song : The original title for this song was CHAKA it was written by David Foster for his album the best of me[1983] it was an instrumental piece about CHAKA KHAN ! Also, i believe Chaka's name means "woman of FIRE" !!!
This song is very famous here in the Philippines and one of the famous pieces of every Filipino singers. Iconic!
Since you like 70s music. Check out Rufus featuring Chaka Khan. Sweet Thang, Hollywood,Tell Me Something Good and Stay
This song is from the 80s.
@@jmrx12 I know
Yes Jack! Chaka is a legend and a vocal masterclass! I knew you would enjoy this song like you did I'm Every Woman! She ain't called the Queen of Funk for nothing.
Great reaction Jack! You should check out Rufus, which was her band before she went solo. “Tell Me Something Good”, “Sweet Thing” and “ Do You Love What a You Feel” are all classics from the 70s. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
My favorite Chaka Khan song hands down.
Chaka is a LEGEND.
Nothing beats old school, love it!! When are we going to see some Luther Vandross, speaking of icons
The Living Icon❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ the one and only....
Jack, check out Chaka Khan - Love You All My Lifetime! another one of Chaka's hits!
ICONIC my Brother Jack👊 Chaka paved the way for Many of the Female artist through the years💯 "For a chance to be with you I'd gladly give it all" ❤️ Damn now that's saying "A LOT" to that "SPECIAL" someone❣️
Check out Vesta Williams who was a back up singer for Chaka who went on to a solo career. Her signature song : CONGRATULATIONS🎶🔥🔥🔥RIP.
Nevr thought you’d react to this classic but um happy you did! Chaka did THAT
Wanna know a fact? She is a powerhouse then and now. I’ve heard her do a simple run that gave me chillz. Her range is insane…and she still has that power. Chaka,Aretha Franklin , Tina Turner never lost their power over time. Chaka will make your hair stand on end even now
Great Reaction jack !!! 😍🔥
well Jack, now u gotta do Chaka's Ain't Nobody and My Funny Valentine now :D
The beauty of Through the Fire takes my breath away. Always loved it and always will! ❤️
I love this song. 💗💗💗 🤗😊😊
React to Miki Howard- “ain’t nobody like you “.
Yes!!! Love this song. Miki Howard was underrated
Can you react to Phyllis Hyman living all alone...
Please more of Chaka when she sang with Rufus in the '70s.
Her range was always incredible. She can reach deep down with that one of a kind voice and soar like no other.
My favorite was the song: Sweet Thing. It is an excellent example of her unmatched artistry.
Imo, none of those early Rufus songs can match this song. This song has no equal in her whole discography.
React to Chaka’s version of Michael Jackson’s “ Got to be there” and prepare to be blown away
Yes! Chaka's version of "Got To Be There" is out of this world!!!
Lord YES!
Chaka Khan is so underappreciated. I mean when people talk about the greatest female singers, she wouldn't get a mention. I love "I Feel For You" but so much of what I love about that song is the music so I don't say that's my favorite song of hers.
Legendary Queen Chaka 👌🏾❤
Goodness gracious, Chaka! This song never gets old. 👌🏼 Try her version of 'Got to Be There'.
One of my favorite of all time.
Nice reaction. Like the blue screen.
This soothe my soul.... to have this song in my life all my life is truly a gift
Ain’t Nobody; Rufus & Chaka Khan. I’m sure you’ll love it. Btw, this video was filmed in Union Station (downtown Los Angeles).
This is one of the best soulful compositions of music to me to come out from the 80s. Good stuff bro. Do Chaka khan “tell me something Good!”
Jack this is my favorite song from her and unsaid stank face I love you dude the man who wrote this song said he had her in mind when he wrote it he also said he never does that when writing songs
This song makes me feel so WARM, you know? Chaka really knows how to wrap her voice around you. She's really and truly one of the best. "Through the Fire" was released as the third single from Chaka's sixth studio album I Feel for You (1984). It peaked at #60 on the Hot 100 and at #15 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The music video was filmed at Los Angeles' Union Station.
Please react to:
I Feel for You (title track)
Ain't Nobody (with Rufus)
De La Soul - All Good? (feat Chaka Khan), Oooh. (feat Redman), Baby Phat (feat Devin the Dude & Yummy Bingham)
Anita Baker - Body & Soul
I’ve been waiting for you to react to this!!!! It’s my favorite Chaka Khan song and I never get tired of it. But it came out at the same time as Whitney’s first hit song, so didn’t stay on play on the radio.
This is a classic this is a classic
Bobby Brown - Roni or My prerogative
Chaka Khan & Rufus - Do You Love What You Feel. It’s such a feel good song and Sweet Thing as well. Chaka and Rufus are one of the best duos.
React to:
Sweet Thing by Chaka Khan. A Classic
Love Song.
fun fact : Chaka didn't like how Kanye sampled it. She wasn't thrilled that she was sped up to sound like a chipmunk.
You should react to Chaka's "Ain't bobody". "Ain't nobody" might have made it onto Michael Jackson's "thriller" album. The songwriter David "Hawk" Wolinski threatened to Give it to Michael Jackson if Chaka's label didn't make it the album's lead single.
Ahhhhhhh!!! I can’t believe I missed when you posted this! This was definitely one that I’ve request a FEW....several times on your channel, whew!!!
Come through with the classics! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Definitely gotta do more chaka. Great reaction
Now if you want good oldies with the same feel, react to DeBarge “Time Will Reveal” “Love Me In A Special Way” and “A Dream”
Love how you're catching all the samples! Hip hop is awesome for that. You should do a "Samples Series" where you react to the original songs of popular hip hop beats 🔥🔥🔥
Great idea! Try a Little Tenderness by Otis Redding would be perfect for this series
That is a dope idea. I like to say that I’m the queen of catching samples, there’s so many songs that have sampled others. So I would love to watch something like that
Chicago’s finest. Kanye was paying homage to his Chi-Town homegirl Chaka by sampling this in “Through the Wire.” Chaka Khan was an active member of The Black Panthers in Chicago before becoming lead singer of Rufus ✊🏾
AMAZING SONG! ☝💯☝
Grown folks music you know when the words mean something
She is amazing. One of my other favorite songs from Chaka is her cover of MY FUNNY VALENTINE of the Waiting to Exhale album. When you can (and I know that you have many requests) react to Anita Baker- Been So Long and Chante Moore- Candlelight and You. Please and thank you. 😊
I loved Kanye first 3 albums I was obsessed but he took a turn,I hope we will get the old Kanye back.Chaka is one of my favorite artist this is my best Chaka song but I love many
I love this song! Chaka is incredible... Great reaction! PS: your smile is so cute!!! 💜💜
Please do Chala's "I Feel For You" and Patti Labelle's "If Only You Knew"
You're amazing Jack, love your insight and positivity 😘
This looks like it was filmed in union station in Los Angeles where I'm from lol that seating area is very cathedral like they even have a piano in the corner now. (Cant play it due to covid tho)
I remember listening to this song at a car wash with my dad and sisters
I call Chaka Khan My Fairy Godmother. You have such good taste in music ! Try "Stay" by Rufus ft. Chaka Khan. The story and the vocals are amazing !
Stephinie Mills...Itene Cara.
