Late to the party, but thanks for this video. My project is a little different to yours, im adding an extra jointed section to mine so i have more length as well as greater articulation, but finding spares for these kinds of arms is a massive ballache because there doesn't seem to be a single unified name for these kinds of springboom arms.
Really glad to see it's as simple as "it just comes apart at the elbow".

Very nice piece of work. It’s a good idea to take a basic, off the shelf bit of kit and modify it so it suits your needs! Not something I would have thought of but will definitely make me think in the future if I can’t get something that is exactly what I want!! Good video!!
