I agree with most of the analysis (appreciate all of it) and won't knitpick your list. I am a Texas fan and agree that Taylor's health history does raise questions. They did pick up 6'6" Top 10 recruit and McDonald All American Kyla Oldacre in the transfer portal to replace post depth they lost. The pick up of Laila Phelia is also huge! She, Rori and Booker are in my view the best backcourt in the country (yes, better than Notre Dame's)
ND backcourt is narrowly better than Texas but they are both excellent. Harmon = Miles, Hidalgo slightly better than Booker, Citron is better than Phelia. But they’re all great players

You forgot Ice Brady for UCONN for front court...improved this summer... and is the seasoned player in the front court. You also said coach as one of the 3 conseideration.. 11 time champions and made the final 4 with half the team that is this this year,,, 4 guards and a Forward... I had them at 3

I agree with most of your assignments. With 1 exception, UCONN will have competition for leading the nation in 3pt shooting. Iowa may not be a top 10 team, but damn near every player can drain the 3, even the freshman class. This will make them dangerous. Especially at home.
You’re sleeping on Iowa! We all know they lost their main producers in Clark, Martin, and Marshall but they picked up a good freshmen class in addition to Lucy Olsen. And last years bench players are getting more playing time like McCabe, who’s an absolute shooter
I agree with you. Iowa looks talented. They have more depth than last year (including in the post area). They have strong coaching. And they look hungry. They are the only team in the last 2 years that has gone to the championship game 2 years in a row and they look like they want to go back for a 3rd year. All of the upper class wants to get back to the championship game. All of the Freshman came there to get to the championship game. The impression I get is Lucy Olsen came there to win the Big 10 Championship and a National Title. Olsen came early last Summer to play in non practice scrimmages and the word was that both sides of those scrimmages were very competitive and hated losing. Head Coach Jensen has said that in some years a team would waste a 3 hour practice. But this year’s team has not wasted a single 3 hour practice. Every practice they’ve learned something and have gotten better. Olsen was the 3rd best scorer last year behind Clark and Watkins. Olsen has said she’ll do whatever it takes to win. If she has to give up her scoring numbers to win games she will do it. Hannah Stulke was a star center last year who was only stopped by South Carolina’s talented bigger center last year. Iowa is moving her to power forward because they don’t need her at center anymore. She’s going to get her points. Iowa has a 6’1” Freshman Teagan Mallegni who can play the 2 (shooting guard. She can hit step back 3’s), the 3 (small forward), and the 4 (power forward). She is going to finish the season one of the best Freshman in the country. They have 3 stars on this early season team and they are stronger in the center and power forward positions than last year. They have at least 4 players who can play point guard (with a 5th potentially gifted Freshman point guard who is currently injured). Three or 4 players who can play shooting guard (including your Taylor McCabe who looks, shooting wise, like she could take Kate Martins offensive role). Three wing / small forward players including last year’s Sydney Affolter who played wing throughout the entire tournament all the way to the championship game. My prediction. At the end of the season Iowa will be rated between #8 to #12 and will get a 2 or 3 seed in the tournament. People don’t understand how talented and deep and hungry this team is. They’re going to finish strong. The coaches, the upper class men, and Lucy Olsen are going to get these Freshman and a couple of struggling tall upper class men more confident and they are going to be a very difficult team to play.

Anyone who refers to the greatest woman's basketball program of all time (and I didn't say just college) as "Ucant" is a hater, with his head in the sand, and child-like name-calling tendencies. It's OK not to like them, but to deny they are good is just plain dumb. Whatever the team is that you're cheering for can be great on it's own with out you comparing it to UConn. And I'm sure they'd all tell you the same. Today's UConn team is probably more talented then they've ever started a season with - even without Aaliyah and Nika and all those teams were extremely successful. Support your team, but don't get it twisted. It's because of teams like UConn (and formerly Pat Summitt-led Tennessee teams) that you're able to see great non-conference games like you're gonna see this season. They knew that to be the best you have to play the best - not just the best of your conference. SC is in that mode now too.
Of UConn has 5 players injured already this year, then after last year I think its time to start questioning their training and recovery scheduling. This can't just be bad luck with athletes this young.
I have USC second. But I just want to say. I think Talia is massively overrated. I couldn’t believe it when I saw her on the national player of the year watch list. Also, I like seeing UConn at 5. I am a UConn fan. I think we have a lot of questions. The season hasn’t even started and 5 players are injured. Let us be the underdogs for a change. And the 4 ahead of us are really good.

UConn will be in the final four, period! Nika M. was mentioned, Chen is a better player, particularly on offense, she put up 20 pts or more against some of the teams mentioned in this segment, and she is certainly pesky on defense. I wouldn't be surprised if Chen ended up starting over Fudd or KK at times depending on the opposing team, selah. Geno said, El-Alfy is going to surprise everybody, Once everyone returns UConn's depth is going to wear down a lot of teams, their press is going to be dangerous.
Post play is suspect since they have only one player above 6’3 and she is unproven and coming off an Achilles injury. Top 7 teams with size and athleticism will give them trouble. We will see how it plays out. All the best 😊

SC will miss Cardoso A LOT. You can't compensate on how she collapsed opposing teams defenses. And UCLA top 3, imo. Best frontcourt in the league. Rebounding and interior defense will take them far.
Two Words: Dawn Staley! Last year she had an entirely new starting lineup. All SC did was go undefeated. That probably won't happen again but they are the deepest and best coached team in the country; there is no doubt about it.
Cardodo will be missed, yes - but Staley has developed a program built around defemse. depth and selfless play. It's a plug-and-play system that showed well last year with an entirely new starting 5. This year, they return 89% of the team's production, so while Cardoso's loss will be felt, ir won't be that detrinemntal. If they don't get Watkins back, that will be more missed IMO... but either way, they have a deep roster of rock stars!
I an not that high on South Carolina. They got exposed last year by Tennessee and Oregon State and Utah. They won (By hook AND crook) but SC has a tough time matching opposing star players who BRING IT. Lauren Betts is going to skin them alive with enough paint touches. I'll be there. They have a fleet of great talent, but in tight games, it's all about your Top 6. There are better Top 6 groups out there. LSU is one of them. Also, only God knows who's going to be their most reliable player during crunch time. They'll be great, but I see several losses on their schedule because of these reasons. I agree that NEXT YEAR they have a chance to be unbeatable. This year however, youth and lack of an Alpha could doom them.

Beat by SC twice and spent the majority of non conference play beating up on small unranked teams instead of creating a competitive schedule to sharpen skill set. They have no bench depth because Mulky only plays 7 players and they got mopped by Iowa in the sweet 16. Poa is already out indefinitely because she’s suing the government for NIL.

We'll coached. Capitalizes on other team's mistakes at a high level. 6. USC - Love my girls, but they might have the worst on court chemistry in Major Program history. Juju needed a big man who could shoot 3's and defensive demons at the guard positions. Didn't get it. Also Her best point guard will only get about 17 mpg. Taking a wait and see approach with them. The coaching is absolutely horrific and I don't know what they're identity is yet. 7. LSU - Size and star power will carry the water for them. Any great 3pt shooting will be a nice bonus. 8. Iowa State - Best offense in the nation. Can't stop a nosebleed. Will probably lose a random game to Kansas or TCU for this reason. 9. Duke - Can't shoot A LICK but will hold many solid teams under 60. Toby will get at least 3 dunks. 10. Utah - (UTAH?????? WTH??) Yes, Utah. They'll be this year's Oregon State (Who I warned people about in December). Their coaching is SUPERB. They can play inside and out. They're the best passing team in the nation, PLUS they defend like hell (Lack of Athleticism BE DAMNED). Also they'll have the Nation's Leading Scorer on the team - Gianna Kneepkens.
South Carolina has super stars already if these girl started for any other team they would be bigger names because they would play more minutes. Average playing time because S.C. has depth is 18- 20 mins Dawn doesn’t keep them in the game for individual stats. If Angel Reese or Caitlin went to SC they wouldn’t have the same playing time thus less attention.

South Carolina has super stars already if these girl started for any other team they would be bigger names because they would play more minutes. Average playing time because S.C. has depth is 18- 20 mins Dawn doesn’t keep them in the game for individual stats. If Angel Reese or Caitlin went to SC they wouldn’t have the same playing time thus less attention.
