The fact that Dawn Staley had a degree program created to bring Joyce Edwards into SC tells you all you need to know about how much value she brings on and on and off the court. Joyce Edwards is going to be very special as she continues to develop under Staley. The fact that Staley already trusts her anywhere on the floor and in any position speaks volumes about her BB IQ. Gonna be an exciting season for Carolina again this year and it all starts tonight in Vegas! Go Cocks!
The degree program is part of the Honors College at SC. It is available to all members of the Honors College. Dawn didn’t create it for Edwards. She made Edwards aware of it.
@@piedpiper5886 Sorry, I worded that wonky. Dawn Staley had the school implement an environmental engineering major for Joyce Edwards, not create the degree program (The school previously did not offer environmental engineering as a major).
Toby is awesome. I like the Zion Comparison as far as impact and unstoppability (A Stephen A. Smith, made up word special ✨️). But interestingly enough she mostly resembles her school mate on the Men's side. She and Cooper Flagg have the same game, same build, same motor, nearly the same haircut, and oddly enough, same low key personality. She will be dominant on both ends from day one. Will stop plenty of big time scorers from going off and put a ton of big men in foul trouble.
"She is a shooting center and supreme pg away from being a 1st Team All-American. Her teammates do little to compliment her offensively, but she is in defensive heaven. From coaching to play style to culture." Roberson can shoot, and Cotton is a borderline sniper. Both r injured(Roberson will redshirt) so it'll have to wait. Emilee Skinner, 5star-2025 pg, is verbally committed so, hopefully she pans out. If so, Lawsons coaching will really be put in spotlights
Here is my Top 10 (I know you guys are at the edge of your seat 🙄): 1. Joyce Edwards - Will force Dawn Staley to give her big minutes, for defensive impact alone. Likely #1 Pick in 2028. 2. Kiyomi McMiller - The most exciting player in college. College period. Any sport. 3. Toby Fournier. She is a shooting center and supreme pg away from being a 1st Team All-American. Her teammates do little to compliment her offensively, but she is in defensive heaven. From coaching to play style to culture. Duke shuts you down. Early on, I would like to see her get deep post touches and use jump hooks or up & unders for easier looks. The drives should be reserved for secondary breaks or late in the shot clock when a defender is caught trying to recover. 4. Jaloni Cambridge - Has nice talent around her. Should flourish with veterans who have talent and experience. 5. Syla Swords - Will be the leading Freshman Scorer. Going to get tons of votes for Freshman Of The Year. 6. Sarah Strong - She'll be great, but there are a ton of mouths to feed on Uconn. At her size, coaches will try and make her put in on the deck, where she'll be less effective. Still, she'll get plenty of minutes and give you about 15 & 6. 7. Kate Koval - Notre Dame likes to play fast, so chemistry could be an issue. I think we'll see the best of her next year and beyond. An excellent package of skills and much needed size will keep her on the court. 8. Mikayla (My daughter's namesake) Blakes - Has decent talent surrounding her. A lot of them set to have nice statistical years. Won't matter. She won't be denied. She'll average 15+ points from day 1, with good efficiency. Has multiple threats flanking her so it will be tough to key in on her. 9. Kayleigh Heckel - She’s the best point guard prospect in USC History. If she was A) 5'10 B) The starting Day 1 PG or C) Had a coach worth a da** (Darn) then she'd be Top 3. Her skill level is otherworldly. She'll contribute with the minutes she's given. I like how she compliments Juju. Still, I believe the coaching staff will do Ssnior TVO a solid and give her a lion's share of the minutes. 10. Zam Jones - It is SCARY 😨 how much she resembles Olivia Miles. I hope she just comes out and says it's an impersonation. There is NO WAY that is organic 😬. She reminds me of Rondo/Jose Alvarado. Always in the mix. Always productive. Lastly, keep an eye out for Me'arah O'neal. Still mad they gave her Kiyomi McMiller's spot of the McDonald's Team, but she is tall and talented.
After tonight, you'd better reconsider and make a video of Syla Swords because she is the best player on a young Michigan team that took the defending champs down to the wire with 27 points and 12 rebounds.
Sword definitely shined. The game wouldn't have been as close if USC would've passed in the post to Edwards. She had position a lot of times and they didn't drop it down to her.
Yea swords was definitely pretty good . I like her physicality but i noticed when they put raven and the other good defender on her she sorta struggled. But at least she attacked the basket and took advantage when she had the mismatch. Michigan might be a bit of a problem for teams with small guards.
I WAS MAD when you took Syla Swords out of the top 10. I'm going to see her today vs. South Cack. She'll go 5-17 with 15 points, but still lead all Freshmen in scoring. Kiyomi McMiller has an Ace of teammate, in Destiny Adams and a Queen (No pun intended) in Chyna Cornwell. Both are efficient big men and would be better served playing a deliberate style. Syla Swords will have free reign to SHOOT AT WILL. I think she'll average 21, while Cambridge will settle in at 18 with a ton of assists
She’ll have more shot opportunities, but I think that will more hurt than help.. Heckl and Koval are both great passers who can also score, which made things a lot easier for Syla Swords. I don’t think Swords shot creation level is high enough for her to put up a bunch of points while being at the top of scouting reports at the D1 level. Someone like Kennedy Smith would thrive more in her situation.
@@maxpower247True. Still, she has size, speed, and nice upper body strength. That will put her on the free-throw line and make her a terror on the break. Cheap buckets go a long way to help inefficient scorers get big numbers.
@@maxpower247 At the game rn. Gotta say I was wrong about Syla Swords. Her floor game is magnificent. I figured she'd be a gunner, taking tough shots and trying to score every play. She's patient, unselfish and opportunistic. Excellent start to her career. Hope she continues to play like this.

It was the honors program where you create your own major.

Another amazing video 🔥
Thanks for the content
I agree with your #1 Joyce Edward’s..she is a beast!
Fantastic show. I really enjoyed it. ❤ What is your perspective on the upcoming SC vs UCLA WBB game ?
Adhel Tac rise up
She’s gonna be good!
Im ready to see her play tonight
So as I’m watching USC opener mid way through the 1st; Kennedy is balling hard!
Good defense too
That Michigan 🗡️ girl is awesome champ

Kennedy at 10 is wild nasty work

I watched that swords masterclass and I was thinking of the video. One game. But she was great.
She was great, I can’t deny that. I’m expecting a ton of Swords comments now
Nah the Joyce Edward’s hype is crazy, get a hold of yourself 😂😂😂

Swords was amazing against south cack. It was her confidence that impressed me.
I like Kennedy smith more than this. Also, I am taking Heckel out and putting Olivia Olson in.
Sword scored 27 today
