** I truly hope someone can read this & gain hope** but you WILL BE OKAY. I remember when I first got it.. I was super down and scared. But I knew eventually it would go away. Staying positive is the first step. I first got it December 13th 2022. Now it’s Jan 5th and I’m about 90% healed. Take your medication, take your b12, run hot water on your face (every single) shower, do face exercises, massage your face & stay positive. That’s what I did. Don’t just sit around and let it run it’s course. Doing those little things HELP TREMENDOUSLY.. If you want it gone sooner than later then you have to go above & beyond. I even got acupunctures done. You’ll be okay I promise. Hopefully this helps someone 💛 you’re beautiful!

The eye on my affected side still shows weakness. If I laugh suddenly or too much I get muscle cramps alongside my neck. I was put on steroids the first time at 14. Doctors just said was a virus. I'm glad that my face does not drooping. It's a difficult thing to go through.

Treatment for Bell's palsy by Dr. Joel wallach & Dr. Ma Lan
Bell's Palsy it is the sudden drooping of one side of the face due to an inflammation, swelling, or squeezing (the result of osteoporosis) of the "facial" nerve (the 7th cranial nerve as it passes through the skull) Bell's palsy is often mistaken for a stroke because of the sudden onset. Numbness in partial or total loss of muscular control on the affected side of the face are the typical signs and symptoms. Treated properly, there can be as much as an 80% chance of significant recovery. Treatment is B12 at 1000 mcg /day for a total of 20,000 mcg, calcium slash magnesium at 2000 mg an 800 mg per day, essential fatty acids at 5 gm t.i.d., and American ginseng ( Panax quinquefolius). Colloidal minerals are useful. Treat for osteoporosis with Dr Joel wallach's pig arthritis formula.
This information is from the book Dead Doctors Don't lie! Dr. Joel Wallach & Dr. Ma Lan

i am on round 2 of Bell's, started for me again 5 days ago, my first time some 12 or 13 years ago, i did a lot of reading and here is what i learned, behind your inner ear is a flat bone with a tiny pin hole and a nerve, your 7th cranial nerve the size of a human hair travels through this hole, when the nerve is infected it swells and is pinched inside the pin hole restricting signals to the affected side, if you get Bell's it is not the end of the world, especially if this is what God had in store for you, or me, at least it is not a stroke. also keep in mind when you pass that half smile off to someone, you are only giving them a half smile just in case you were not sincere, i had to come back and add how important it is to keep trying to force those muscles to work, i know from experiance its hard because it feels like your brain is struggling and tellig you its not happening, use your hands and push in the places like winking your eye, push it up with your hand until the muscle gets the control again, i over came this once and i will do it again,,,,, I Hope.
I commented 4 weeks ago today is july 3rd and i can see the forehead lines starting to come back when i lift my eyebrows up and slight movement in my cheek muscles, i can not wink, or full smile, it's like my brain can't find the trigger to tell the muscles to move
    Seems like a cruel joke

I suffered from this last year. And its true you'll avoid mirrors because you don't recognize your face and you'll avoid people because you feel deformed. I have now recovered but I can no longer whistle like I used to which I did daily to get through work and my face is forever changed, others may not be able to see the slight droop of my left eye or occasionally speaking with only the right side of my lips but I notice. Hopefully it gets better

I feel for you. I can see the residual muscles are affected. I woke up with it in 2014, I didn't have any treatment because of a poor diagnoses. Unaware it must be treated within 72 hrs, I struggled for a two and a half months before I could produce a slight smile. I slept with an eye patch for over a month and taped my eye shut when I shampooed my hair. It's 2022 and I still don't have full recovery. Maybe 75%. I also developed synkinesis where my nerves crossed in the healing. (When I shut my eyes, the top corner of my mouth gets tugged)... you actually look beautiful, even though, being afflicted by it, I can see it's apparent. I lost my beautiful smile and bright eyes.

I noticed a couple years ago, only when watching video of myself, that the left side of my face doesn't move as much as the right side, and I wasn't sure if it had always been like that, or if it happened since my root canals, when I had terrible pain in my jaw and head on that said of my face, from dental infection due to starvation, due to divorce and abuse stress. The left side is still weak, but no one said anything to me about how I look, and I've never consulted a doctor about it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's had this. I wonder if it's Bell's Palsy and if I can improve it with facial exercises... There was a time when I had to open my eye(s) with my hand... I thought it was dry eye.

I was diagnosed with this four days ago and honestly it's scary ASF. They claim this is caused by a virus, chicken pox, herpes hsv1, that the ear will be some what inflamed. I honestly don't think that's it, for me i believe it has to do with my sinuses. Ive been having sinus problems for years and chronic conjunctivitis, which has never gone away. The last month my nose was inflamed and it hurt. Unfortunately before I got this i was constantly wearing nose strips, 247. And i think that's what caused my Bell's palsy. Not taking the strip off and leaving it on for 24 hours a day isn't to bright. I'm on steroids and antiviral meds, i pray this isn't permanent.
Also, never pop pimples in the T zone area.

Ive got bells palsy, and luckily we got steroids to treat it within 24h of it occurring. I had to do weird exercises where i continually smile, frown, blink, etc multiple times a day. I had to wear an eye patch at night while i slept to avoid damaging my eye since it wouldnt close, and it lasted more noticeably for about a month.
I was very lucky and got treated for it quickly, after noticing that my right eye stopped blinking when my left did. The next day, i lost the ability to move the right side of my mouth at all. I remember it being painless, however, when i would sleep on my right side i had to rest my face gently because i had a strange pain in my jaw near my ear when i leaned too hard onto the right side of my face. It took at least a few months for that pain to go away fully.
Ive been told theres no real idea of why it occurs, but that it can have something to do with things like lupus or other similar diseases and that even after going away, its been known to reoccur. I myself dont have an immune disease like lupus, but my mom does
It was very strange to experience it to be honest, it felt like the muscles on the right side of my face completely atrophied and couldnt move at all

YOU keep getting the Bell's Palsy ("2015, 2017, 2020 and right now") and so this shows to me you ARE very rundown and prone to getting everything. You NEED to get better and BUILD your body's immune response because your body is TELLING you, "we're not capable at the moment to fight anything that comes your way". LISTEN to your body - it is right.
You need to get your health in better shape to handle ANY viruses that come your way.
      1. You need to really get your health back and the ways to do that is REQUEST at least a couple of blood tests from your doctor to check the levels of your iron levels, Vitamin D3 levels and a Celiac Disease blood test - all of them are very inexpensive.
      2. You need to get your body's IMMUNE defense better equipped to handle all your health issues and bring down any INFLAMMATION in your body.
SUGGESTIONS: There are several ways, I, personally, would suggest of getting your body's IMMUNE defense better equipped to handle this Bell's Palsy "virus" and any other stress-related health issues you're going thru:
      1. Taking a high dosage of Vitamin D3 supplements daily (15,000 IU's of Vitamin D3 daily).
      2. Take (1) Magnesium Malate 425 mg X 2 times a day and (1) Vitamin K2/MK-7 90 mcg daily. I would not suggest taking a multi-vitamin as they have very low dosage amounts - you're are trying to FIGHT this virus and build up your immunity response at this time.
      3. Eat healthier, cut out sugar (for the time being - it causes inflammation in the body) and cut out dairy too (also causes inflammation in the body too).
      4. Very gentle facial exercises - you are trying to soothe and bring down the inflammation of the facial nerve.
I, personally, take 15,000 IU's of Vitamin D3 daily, (1) Magnesium Malate 425 mg X 2 times a day and (1) Vitamin K2/MK-7 90 mcg daily. I have taken these for SEVERAL years now with NO bad side effects whatsoever. I've only had GOOD side effects (results) from taking these supplements. BUT, you RESEARCH yourself about these supplements I've listed.
I hope this information helps you in YOUR journey back to good health. 😊💖💝

@@stephanieschmick8469 "We think it's caused by a virus, the same virus that causes cold sores (Herpes Simplex 1). So, it's [the virus] probably been sitting in your system and gets reactivated usually by stressors or an illness that causes inflammation near the ear - [Bell's Palsy is an inflammation near the ear that causes paralysis of the facial nerves] 0:45."
This is the BEST explanation of Bell's Palsy I've come across!
Summed up: A virus ALREADY in your body; reactivates due to physical/mental stress or illness (another "stress" to the body) and causes INFLAMMATION in your body and in Bell's Palsy - inflammation in the facial nerve.
YOU may not have had any cold sores EVER come to the surface of your face - BUT it could of been DORMANT and shown itself in other ways, such as feeling very rundown and just not well.
Whether or not it's a cold sore - all the doctors seemed to be of the opinion, that it's a VIRUS, that's been activated and attacked the facial nerve. So, it seems you must bring down the INFLAMMATION in the facial nerve and HOW to do this is, by several ways (they're only MY suggestions - I'm not a doctor).
SUGGESTIONS: There are several ways, I, personally, would suggest of getting your body's IMMUNE defense better equipped to handle this Bell's Palsy "virus" and alleviate its effects:
      1. Taking a high dosage of Vitamin D3 supplements daily (15,000 IU's of Vitamin D3 daily).

Autumn/Fall weather usually brings on viruses because of the abrupt changes in the weather patterns - the winds pick up and the cold weather increases and then sometimes the warm weather comes back for a few days too. All this erratic weather conditions it's hard for our bodies to adjust to this and it becomes "stressful" on the body and your immune system.
Bell's Palsy is believed to be brought on stressors (physical, mental or illness) that reactivate a virus already in your body. One of the "physical" stressors that our bodies go through is the abrupt changes in the WEATHER and how our bodies capability to handles this physical stress on our bodies.
I would get cold sores (a virus) whenever it was very windy (swirly winds would really get to me); when it was very hot out and I stayed out too long in the sun; and the Spring time would be another time for me to get the cold sores too. It seems to me, that Autumn/Fall seems to be the season when MORE people come down with Bell's Palsy (and cold sores too) because of the abrupt change (though nice change - beautiful too) in the weather patterns - the winds pick up and the cold weather increases and then sometimes the warm weather comes back for a few days too. So, very erratic weather patterns happen. Therefore, "outside" physical stressors happen to our bodies.
RESEARCH about taking Vitamin D3 supplements and how it can help with your immunity and bring down the INFLAMMATION in your body (and facial nerves).💖💝

We in Saudi Arabia are treated with alternative, folk medicine. There are people who specialize in folk medicine. The foot is folded over the nerve under the ear and pops, and within 15 days it is finally cured, but by people with experience in folded face.

I was diagnosed a few days ago. I think back to at least 6-9 months. I had knots up the right side of my neck, and behind my ear. They were painful to the touch. Just went to the Ozark Mountains last week. I also have hearing aids. After about 2 days being back home, I started having the worst ear pain. Now after going to the ER Tuesday. The knots aren’t in my neck anymore. I’m wondering if that’s what caused this, there must have been some kind of infection building up. I can’t stretch my foot up behind my ear though.😵‍💫🥴
