2018 Honda accord Lx 1.5 t dealership replaced to a 7000 mile engine original motor had 80k miles very frustrating had to literally fight with the dealership warranty covered but I’m so disappointed with Honda they need to recall
For those who have gone through this head gasket issue, have you had to replace your entire engine or what the head gasket (bolts, injectors, plugs, etc) enough? I really don’t want to replace the head gasket if the engine has to go with it. Also does anyone know if bad spool valve is caused by blown head gasket. The reason I ask is because mechanic is telling me I have to replace spool valve before he can truly diagnose head gasket (although it is obviously the underlying issue - oil sludge, coolant disappeared with no leak, overheated once for a less than a minute before I parked). I don’t want to replace spool valve and have the head gasket wreck it again.
So far i have not see people replacing complete engine yet just head gasket and should be good who’s no how long will last , and i never heard of replacing the spool valve about this issue so did u bring it Honda Mechanic or local mechanic?
Letting all you honda owners know that a low or bad battery causes problems with the vehicle. Stalls or hiccups. I didn’t believe that was an issue and scanned it my self with the one reader and only found and electrical code that popped up so I was like “it can’t be the head gasket….. So I changed the old battery and tightened the battery terminal with a screw in between. All fixed now. I didn’t trust dealerships before and I still don’t trust them.😅😅😅
May be ur situation is different usually these kind of accord sometime wont store codes and mostly vehicle is overheating or low on coolant and sometime u get misfiring codes as well we have pressure test with thr radiator tester and with the pressure applied removed all spark plugs and stick the camera inside thru the spark plug hole u can see coolant running inside the cylinder walls
