Love the radar cruise and lane keeping assist for highway driving. Excellent fuel mileage. Looking forward to new tires. Going to be installing Ulltra Racing chasis braces next week. • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  11 месяцев назад +1

      If you want to decrease your stopping distance, get better tires, and more aggressive pads. A larger brake rotor does not decrease stopping distance. Larger, multi piston calipers may, but they’re dependent upon the clamping force available to them. Lastly, most modern day cars are specially calibrated front and rear, drastically changing say the front brakes can throw the dynamics out and actually hurt your braking.

    • @Fecho00

      When I lived in Massachusetts, closer to sea-level, I would notice a hesitation after early morning startups at low speeds, and when it was damp outside. Since moving to high-altitude and a much drier climate I do not notice any hesitation. With that said, have you noticed this from the start, or is this something that has recently started? If it's a recently occurring event and depending upon your mileage, you might want to consider doing an ATF flush.

My only other issue is the paint is not holding up very well there is a lot of chips in the paint already. yes its six years old but i have seen good paint jobs not chip for 20 years.... The seats do suck, but I also have the 2.0 Sport and those seats are supposedly stiffer than non-sport models. So I’ve read at least. I use a Conformax GelPad. As for the ACC, it was improved for the 2021 model, which was also the super minor facelift, which consisted of different shape fog lights. I have 47,000 miles on my 2021 Sport 2.0 and I’m overall satisfied with it, minus the seats and sound. I did get new tires, Yokohama YK-740, and they are quieter than the OEM Michelins. Transmission drain and fill and brakes due soon.

    2. The sound system suck me. my 2011, Honda Accord had better sound speakers 🔊 I took my car in to a stereo shop, upgraded all four speakers and subwoofer amplifier’s
    3. head gasket blew and oil pump broke at 60,000 miles and $3000 later…. My 2011 Accord never gave me these problems.
    Pros.
    1. MPGs up to 48 in traffic, highway 35 MPGs

    I have a 2018. The audio was effin terrible and I couldn't stand it, I upgraded the speakers to JBL speakers all around with damping mat and foam and that made a dramatic difference even with the factory stereo. I also added a Rockford Fosgate 10" self powered sub in a tiny box so it does not take up a lot of room. Sounds so nice now. The factory GoodYear Touring tires really sucked they even wore out really quick so I replaced them with something else. During the pandemic, a lot tires were hard to get a hold of so the only tire I was able to get at the time was some cheap West Lake tires from Discount Tire and yo the difference in road noise and overall ride was HUGE! Really smooth and quiet. One last thing, the road departure feature absolutely scared me once because I had it set to on while on the highway and the right side lane white line disappeared due to some road construction and the next thing I knew, the steering jerked itself to the right almost hitting the cement barrier. After that I never turned that feature on again.

    Poor sound from the stereo combined with road noise is an indication of lack of insulation in places like the doors and under the back seat, boot and firewall.
    This is easily and cheaply addressed by more spray on underbody sealant as well as sound deadening material in the doors and under the rear seat as well as the boot including the wheel arches. A few hundred dollars with an hour or two of work will reduce the noise and improve the stereo sound rather a lot. I have done it on few cars of late and it is remarkable how much difference it makes especially to the music and rumbling noise from tyres on poor roads.

    • @TheLemonFactor

      Seems like a lot of work 🤔 🤷‍♂️

    • @Rob-fx2dw
      @Rob-fx2dw 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheLemonFactor Not so much. Door panels are easy to remove - a few minutes each door.
      Cutting out the deadener is also surprisingly easy and it can be done for about ten to 15 minutes per door. That alone will make big difference to your music system and some to the road noise. Rear seat removal is usually just 5 minutes on most cars and application of sound deadener takes about another five to ten munutes. Accuracy is not a critical thing cutting out the material.
      Same with rear trunk insulation - Just twenty minutes or so for the whole job. Wheel arches a little longer but you don't have to do them to still get a good result. Most of the deadeners are easy to cut with a pair of a scissors and they can be easily rolled on with a hard roller (available from hardware shops) when the backing is removed so they stick themselves.
      You will be impressed with the difference just doing that.
      If you want you can also do the underbonnet (under hood) area which is also easy and should only take only 10 to 15 minutes.
      Underbody spray on sealer/deadener is a little more time consuming and is usually not mandatory if you have separate underbody shields.

    I have the 2019 sport and yesterday I went to the post office came back out and the car didn’t start and it gave me 10 error warnings “to see dealer” !! It started again after awhile took it to the dealer and they said the battery is good. But they took the car for the weekend to figure it out smh

      It is the battery. I have 2018 2.0T and had to replace Honda battery twice. They won't last past 2.5 years. First time it happened when there was little driving during covid lockdown. The second time when I walked out of Lowes and it gave alot of warnings like yours.

    My 2019 Accord Touring is excellent, but it will need new tires soon. Also, my wheels are banged up. Can you give me advice on changing to 17" wheels and tires? Will 17" wheels fit? Will this affect the adaptive suspension? I just feel the car is too fragile. I get scared whenever I hit a large pothole. Thanks for any advice!

    • @TheLemonFactor
      @TheLemonFactor  10 месяцев назад +1

      An increase in tire sidewall can help a lot with the potholes. You can go down to a 17”, but that alone won’t help you much…

      @@TheLemonFactor Well the turbo, spark plugs and transmission need replacing around every 100k. I actually had my original alternator die last week so just replaced that. My head gasket blew on my old engine at 180k Honda replaced it for new engine for 6k due to a coolant leak would have been 4k just to replace head gasket. I replace my oil every 5k and have it inspected by my mechanic. Because of all the freeway driving I do I've only had to replace my brakes and rotors once, it goes through tires like crack. I have added aftermarket camber kits to fix the factory camber set. I have replaced the factory stereo head unit for a custom one that can do SDR, added turn and courtesy lights to the side of the car, added an inverter to the trunk, added interior rgb lights. I'm working on a project rn to add starlink to the car for Internet. If your a Marvel fan you would love my car haha

    2019 2.0 Sport 6spd here. Only things I can complain about are the Soy based harness sheathings, easy HVAC access from the engine bay making it easy for rodents to nest in your car and cause weird smells and the CRUISE CONTROL. Cannot tell you how many times I thought I was going to die when it's applied the brakes to a phantom object. After 4 years with it, I think I'd prefer the 10 Speed automatic for comfort in long drives and traffic but over all as a former Mitsubishi fanatic and owner of multiple Lancers, the 10th gen accord is a god send and quite the sleeper with fantastic looks.

    • @TheLemonFactor

      Ouch... that's gotta be an expensive fix (fixing the wiring after a rodent chews it up). 😬

    • @Japesthegrapes
      @Japesthegrapes 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheLemonFactor luckily the portion of the wiring that was chewed was easily replaceable and covered under warranty. But imagine my surprise when my less than 1000 mile accord won’t start one morning after getting it a week ago lol. But yeah it did suck a little. I get the materials choice. Just not perfect for New England.

      @@TheLemonFactor Sorry for not seeing this earlier. I'm very fortunate to have moved into a space with a garage where it is parked now but previously Irish Spring shavings and drops of Spearmint oil once a week in the engine compartment helped keep away rodents.

    • @Japesthegrapes
      @Japesthegrapes 10 месяцев назад +1

      I'd like to add that it sat in a driveway for most of the pandemic years exposed to the elements with that routine and it never occurred again. Only recently since giving up the routine has a smell developed in my HVAC which im sure is a dead rodent that got into the garage and into the accord.

      @@TheLemonFactor possibly. I will add, in the hifi audio world, typically speakers that sound overly great on first listen typically are boosted in the higher end frequencies. Those high boosted speakers typically sound bad after a few more listens; they fatigue the ear. Speakers that don't sound overly boosted in the highs can be better for long term listening. @cheapaudioman has some great content in this area. Don't take my word for it. :)

    I have an 18 touring with 2.0T and think it is the best car I have ever owned. However, it also has the worst turning radius of any car I have ever owned, something you left out in your misses with this car. Also agree it is way too loud on worn pavement. Another big plus on the Touring you did not mention: power cooled seats! Important in the hot climate where I live. Tragic what Honda has done with the latest genertion Accord. Ugly, cheap looking, underpowered.

    I've had mine for 5 years and I really like almost everything about the car. My complaints:
    The passenger's blind spot monitor gets stuck on at least once per week. I have pulled over before and restarted the car because it's annoying every time I change lanes.
    I've had a crankcase gas smell in the cabin on hot restart since new. I brought it to the dealer for this issue and the blind spot monitor and surprise, everything was fine to them.
    There are rolling hills by my house. I guess the road departure system thinks I'm going off the road because it will randomly slam on the brakes going over the hills. I worry that if someone is behind me I'm gonna get rear-ended. It makes me doubt the safety system if I can go over the same hills 10-20 times with no problem and then on the nth time it will slam the brakes.
    Road noise.
