Thank you for the Vid bro, it helped explain some ?'s I had to fix sons 1st car. Unfortunately we only found a Automatic. So we have to figure out what you said about soldering in the ECU. I's appreciate a pointer where to look at for that when you have time or any 1 else. Son has a 1993 EG6 DX with D16Z6 in it. those 2 area you showed people did cut out wires. Hope to hear from you. Thank you once again.
"save your bolts of course... I left mine in there cuzzz... I'm a genius." How to know your "Honda guy" is legit. 10/10 would watch again. Liked and favorited.
thank you dude. had my d15b for 3 years and finally got the ecu and the wiring done. had a hell of a time with the medium wiring harness pin. ended up using a small picking tool too wiggle it out.
Hahaha I stumbled across this after RUclips auto played it. Thank you sir for your commentary. You are awesome. The way you narrate this is exactly why people hate the Honda community. You literally had to explain everything. As Honda owners typically understand. Big one little one. Green wire to yellow wire, third one over. Hats off to you for making a video that even the guys who don’t understand how automotive systems or wiring works. Hopefully you inspired younger person who wants to keep these cars alive.... back in my day we had 300 hp to the rear wheels on a 6000lb car. Well back in mine we we had 250ish (if you’ve grown up to an h series or a boosted f series.. maybe b series) to the front wheels on a 1700 pound car. 🖕🏻muscle guys. We still get 20 miles a gallon and gap you.
Old video but just to clarify... The vtec solenoid goes to A4. Not A6. Vtec pressure switch goes to D6 not D4. Correct placement just wrong numbers. Easy mix up if you're going off memory. Always double check with a pinot diagram while you're wiring to be safe.
Thanks everyone!!!!! PSB is gonna be back on the road soon Project Ebony is kinda dying but I'll get more into that later. Yeah it works and cracks vtec HARD That car never barked 2nd before now spins second barks 3rd WTF did I build????????
I was surprised too when I finally got vtec to engage on my b7 mini, and just stock b7 mani n exhaust. It's bolt on time! Thinking about that middle zex cam and springs.
For the Oil Pressure Switch connector, I ordered mine online and both wires are the same color. Does it matter which wire is ground and the actual pressure switch sensor? I know the stock vtec oil pressure switch is colored like the black is ground and something like orange is the actual oil pressure switch. let me know if you know anything about this because mine really came with both yellow wires.
FalloutCustomsTune&Lube I was hoping to know which wire is which because I don’t have any multimeter skills. But I appreciate you getting to my comment.
Hello i have a 95 civic with a single cam non vtech head and want it my car to be vtech so i put in a d16z6 vtech head but now its makeing all kinds of sounds but it started first try no problem. But i dont have the vtech on ithere can you help me out plz i have spent$$$$ over 800 on a 300 job
I'm doing this to my 94 si prelude it came prewired for vtec all I have to do is pin vtec pressure switch to ecu but heard it pins to d6 but can't find it on ecu and if I did the spot is taken. dropped in a h22 vtec into non vtec prelude
I got the other problem, my son messed up the engine in the civic, and bought a non-vtec Japanese engine, so not the car has a check engine light on, and is missing a bit, it passed emissions but because the check engine light being on, the car did not pass. Now you show in the video how to add a vtec, now is there a way in which the vtec can be eliminated and get rid of the check engine light? Or do I have to swap ECM
relguajiro can you tell me exactly the engine code? And also the ecu code ie:p28 p72 ect. Is the car auto o manual. Missing could be a cracked/unhooked vacuum line make sure all the plugs are plugged in correctly they shouldn't be hard as only 2 are the same plug. Keep me posted
Thanks I was about to buy a vtec conversion harness for $20 ima just go buy some wire at auto zone tomorrow and put this y8 head on and put it all together
Will this work also for a B20Vtec swap for a 95 eg hatch ? with a obd1 p28 A02 ECU 5spd. virgin not chipped tune nothing just virgin cherry. the B20 block it's a low compression and the head it's a gsr all stock cams too. nothing fancy just plain stock basic swap.
I have a Honda prelude 1994 h22a vtec, I recked my original Shell to a Canadian Shell and I forgot to remove the vtec wire now my vtec doesn't crack I don't want to get charged an arm and a leg a the job. I need advice on how can do it my self
you have to hard wire the vtec plugs into the ecu (make sure its a usdm vtec h22a ecu!!!!) im not sure how different the pins are im not experienced with the H motors
hi I'll have watch your video about vtec wiring. I have a 1993 SI civic swapping in a b18c gsr seeing that I have a vtec wire harness is it jut a plug and play or I need to add other wiring to my harness
nope being wired for vtec already I believe (not very good on the b series yet) its plug n play besides an obd1 dizzy . or a jumper haness for obd2 dizzy I think b18b ls 94 below should be ok to use
I have a 94 DX with a d16z6 and I have a rywire vtec pin in connection made. I'm getting an engine light 22 for vtec pressure switch. What could be the problem
I did an engine swap. VTEC out of a '95 and put it in a'92. the'92 doesn't have VTEC, so switched out computer and harness and it's still not working. it is an automatic. I need help figuring out what to change on the p28.
I have an obd1 (P04) and i cand find anywhere a diagram for the ecu. Im trying to grt rid of the immobiliser either by taking the pin our or chip but i have no idea where it is.
My p28 obd1 d16z6 wont load anything connected via bluetooth on mobile app also check engine is always on (my whole interior and exterior lighting not too bright also blinks slowly also I can play radio without starting my car)
I just switched my 2001 lx engine to an ex d17 2001 engine so I need an ecu for an ex will this work if I wire the vtec solenoid to the ecu the same way you did?
i just bought a 1995 prelude with a f22b1 swap in it the guy has the vtec on a switch which is bad right i need a different ecu and dont know what to get its auto trans
I have a 94 integra with a code 10 because the harness clip for the iat sensor is not producing voltage to the ecu, do you think I can run a wire straight from the iat sensor to the ecu pin? Because I traced the wires and couldn't find where the wire is shorting out, so any help is appreciated thanks.
+A Penas if the pin to the clip/plug is broken yes I dont see why not. junkyard might have a plug/clip for you to cut off so its legit. hope this helps
i replace engine from d16 to d15 my problem they wont start the engine bcoz i dont know how top the wiring of distributor wire coz did not same color pls help me thanks non vtec
I have a '90 civic wagon AWD. I got it in pieces. I put the '95 V-Tec that was in the back. I got a wiring harness out of a '95 civic. I was told it was I plug n play. Will, it's not. Any suggestions anyone. I need help.
Man, something is fishy. Where the three wire connectors are under the hood.. there's wires going from VTEC to their connectors.. but not out of the back of the connectors heading to ecu.. then in those slots the wires that should be there are magically there.. I didn't do this swap but please.. wtf do I need to do? Just re wire it ?
you need the correct vtec ecu for your engine that's the only way unless you do a cheap vtec button or switch or controller but I wouldn't even bother dude.
? I have 96 Honda civic automatic I'm going to put 94 Honda civic d16 z6 VTEC I can I do this from non VTEC to VTEC do I need ECU manual VTEC do I after match the number ECU automatic to manual right?
you can run an auto vtec ecu but it will throw code for no torque converter. 96 will need jumper harness from obd2 to obd1 ecu. you want a p28 ecu. and a obd1 dizzy for this to work. other wise follow what I did here and you will be good.
Thank you for the Vid bro, it helped explain some ?'s I had to fix sons 1st car. Unfortunately we only found a Automatic. So we have to figure out what you said about soldering in the ECU. A Clark thank you very much I’m glad I could help.
I know I am kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good place to watch newly released series online?
@Randy Elliott Flixportal :)
@Ignacio Bronson thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :) Appreciate it!
@Randy Elliott you are welcome :D
YOUR THE FUCKING MAN! THIS VIDEO IS STILL HELPING THE HONDA WORLD IN 2018!
Frank Diaz haha thanks man new videos for 2018
"save your bolts of course... I left mine in there cuzzz... I'm a genius."
How to know your "Honda guy" is legit. 10/10 would watch again. Liked and favorited.
thank you dude. had my d15b for 3 years and finally got the ecu and the wiring done. had a hell of a time with the medium wiring harness pin. ended up using a small picking tool too wiggle it out.
Do you know where to find OBD0 wiring for D15B2 engines which came with the eg Lsi?
Hahaha I stumbled across this after RUclips auto played it.

Tj Dudenhoefer not sure about your comment but Thanks anyway 😁

Gravelord Nito what does the pressure switch go to on my 96. Using a non vtec harness on my vtec 96 civic
"I left mine in there cause... im a genius" i tell myself that shit all the time i work on my car LMAO
Very professional... I did it exactly like that.. It worked perfectly. Thank you and God bless😇
Bro i need that model honda engine wiring diagram
Thanks everyone!!!!! PSB is gonna be back on the road soon Project Ebony is kinda dying but I'll get more into that later. Yeah it works and cracks vtec HARD That car never barked 2nd before now spins second barks 3rd WTF did I build????????

Christopher Owens you could ohm test the switch to make sure I believe . One should have .2 .5. While the other should be.0 Hope that helps
FalloutCustomsTune&Lube I was hoping to know which wire is which because I don’t have any multimeter skills. But I appreciate you getting to my comment.
My ecu says p12-a00 and I have a manual and I’m trying to wire vtec will the ecu I’m running still work??
Hello i have a 95 civic with a single cam non vtech head and want it my car to be vtech so i put in a d16z6 vtech head but now its makeing all kinds of sounds but it started first try no problem. But i dont have the vtech on ithere can you help me out plz i have spent$$$$ over 800 on a 300 job
I’m going to try it on my B20 Vtec on my DX
So you ran your wires but which wires run to which plug? Which is indicated blue and red?
What if I have the automatic transmission and automatic ecu but I switch the head just like you
Youll need a ecu “p28-a52” and add those 2 wires for vtec to engage
I'm doing this to my 94 si prelude it came prewired for vtec all I have to do is pin vtec pressure switch to ecu but heard it pins to d6 but can't find it on ecu and if I did the spot is taken. dropped in a h22 vtec into non vtec prelude

Hi just to ask where i can put wire to have a vtec light?
Hey buddy I need some help with my d15b7/z6 mini me
Will this work also for a B20Vtec swap for a 95 eg hatch ? with a obd1 p28 A02 ECU 5spd. virgin not chipped tune nothing just virgin cherry. the B20 block it's a low compression and the head it's a gsr all stock cams too. nothing fancy just plain stock basic swap.
I have a civic 95, i swap it and put a 97 d15 vteck.
How can I hookup the vteck?
The harnass and ecu is from a d16 twin cam non vteck.
I have a Honda prelude 1994 h22a vtec, I recked my original Shell to a Canadian Shell and I forgot to remove the vtec wire now my vtec doesn't crack I don't want to get charged an arm and a leg a the job. I need advice on how can do it my self
you have to hard wire the vtec plugs into the ecu (make sure its a usdm vtec h22a ecu!!!!) im not sure how different the pins are im not experienced with the H motors
i have the same problem ...
can you tell me if you did it ? thanks
hi I'll have watch your video about vtec wiring.
Where do you later hook up that fmale things?
I have a 94 DX with a d16z6 and I have a rywire vtec pin in connection made. I'm getting an engine light 22 for vtec pressure switch. What could be the problem

Did you end up figuring it out
I have an obd1 (P04) and i cand find anywhere a diagram for the ecu. Im trying to grt rid of the immobiliser either by taking the pin our or chip but i have no idea where it is.
Thats for a different ecu :( i dont have j20 i already looked
My p28 obd1 d16z6 wont load anything connected via bluetooth on mobile app also check engine is always on (my whole interior and exterior lighting not too bright also blinks slowly also I can play radio without starting my car)
@FalloutCustomsTune&Lube Please help my head will explode...
Does this also work for a 99 ls integra
basically yes if you search the web there is a diagram for the pins its in color with numbers.
I just switched my 2001 lx engine to an ex d17 2001 engine so I need an ecu for an ex will this work if I wire the vtec solenoid to the ecu the same way you did?
I need help putting my vtec cable my car was not a vtec we just did it vtec nd I need help conectin it to the computer
What timing belt did you use
What two wires did you connect to the ecu?
i just bought a 1995 prelude with a f22b1 swap in it the guy has the vtec on a switch which is bad right i need a different ecu and dont know what to get its auto trans
My vtec doesn't work at any rpm, when I check it turns out there is no current entering selenoid, why is this?
Chanel Anu try at the vtec connector for power no power there check check the ground should be at the t stat
Make sure your sub-harness (cabin harness) has VTEC wires.
+1994hondacivicsi thanks for the help man I appreciate it.
no prob
Big ups ma dude, I wired my iat sensor straight to the ecu, and got the car smogged, this video was a blessing
No problem I very glad my video helped you!
i replace engine from d16 to d15 my problem they wont start the engine bcoz i dont know how top the wiring of distributor wire coz did not same color pls help me thanks non vtec
I have a '90 civic wagon AWD. I got it in pieces. I put the '95 V-Tec that was in the back. I got a wiring harness out of a '95 civic. I was told it was I plug n play. Will, it's not. Any suggestions anyone. I need help.
obd0 are a hard one if the harness is from a 95 vtec it should plug n play did you get the dash and ecu harness as well?
More updates on your eg9 ...how's the z6 doing? I just swapped a d15b vtec in my eg8 ferio
Will it work for a 90 crx si?
Man, something is fishy. Where the three wire connectors are under the hood.. there's wires going from VTEC to their connectors.. but not out of the back of the connectors heading to ecu.. then in those slots the wires that should be there are magically there.. I didn't do this swap but please.. wtf do I need to do? Just re wire it ?
Got a question because I did the exact thing you showed and it's not engaging. Are you 100% that the black is ground?
110% just check the pins its small and easy to get wrong
me 2 is not working for me...
hi i have. a. honda. civic. buy like that not v tec. ther put normal engiene how. turn check engiene ligt off
This is great. I definitely needed this guide. Thank you!
Thanks I can’t wait to do this!
i did a vteck swap into non vteck accord 1996 the car works fine but doesnt have the vteck ecu is there a way it would work?
you need the correct vtec ecu for your engine that's the only way unless you do a cheap vtec button or switch or controller but I wouldn't even bother dude.
Hi Have you ever done a conversion on a classic mini vtec. do you know anyone who can??
like obd0 ???? 88-91 or older?
so since I have a 95 civic, what would be different? I'm swapping a d15 to d15 vtec
Joe Eaton your wire harness for the car is non vtec. So you would have to have a vtec ecu and run your own wires to it.
Thank you
Giuseppe Randazzo look up converting an automatic ecu to a manual
i have 94 honda civic no vtec. now i swap the engine 1.6 vtec. how connect my vtec
follow this video to a T you'll be good
does it work for 96?
I have a D15b and got a po6 ECU will it work if I wired it
Your p06 needs to be converted to vtec a.k.a p28clone
Where do I get the rpm signal in a Honda Civic ex 2002
D17a engine?
Yes
The vtec solenoid pin is named a4 and the pressure switch pin is d6 you got the numbers rong
good easy how to video
thanks man, this helps a lot!
anda how can i do it with a 3stage vtec?
Great video and funny lol
Traducir al español x favor. Le agradecería mucho
Thanks. That help a lot!
If ur right.?! Great advice 👍
Hope to own my own 92-95 civic one day. Shouldn't have bought that crap 02 accord auto.
Check engine lite will be on after this
Only way it would if wiring is cut up or the vtec solenoid is dead
Thank you
Lol obd1 vtec pinout is A4 not A6 dude
You the shitttt
Lol again dude your meslead your audience presure switch vtec on obd1 pinout is d6 not d4
Something translated into Spanish please
