      @@elmorenazoguapo when I did the swap. The guys who installed it didnt reconnect the evap system so I have a vacuum leak

    Can I use my d15b2 block with the d16y8 head using my d15 wiring harness but using the ecu from the d16?

      Yep, I made a video to help with this to wire VTEC to that D16 ECU so you can use the stock d15 harness for your setup 👍👍

      Any time you take a non VTEC harness, add VTEC plus VTEC compatible ecu, you need to do this. ECU needs to match whatever transmission you have, auto or manual

    I have a 88 sh4 sedan with auto trans is there anything different to do than what you showed since ur civic is a 93

      So if you have the same swap I have, you will definitely need an automatic computer that's for a VTEC engine. Otherwise the pin locations are the same I believe, I would recommend double-checking a diagram

      Not sure on that one, I'd have to dig into a wiring diagram. Grounding it where I showed a super simple though

    Yeap with a 272 cam from Delta cam regrind it will become a monster and lighter flywheel and gd clutch kit i think you will not need turbo to save money and have fun around plus all motor have that old school style sound

      @@RiggsGarage I don't like turbo amigo or VTEC I prefer old school style but out here they have Geo tracker with Honda manifold p28 ECM and half distributor Geo tracker and Honda made in Puerto Rico plus some put turbos I my self like all motor special carb but my run nice and strong enough to travel and go any place plus out here they have Geo tracker with rotary engines turbo they all fly the road but that is not me I'm a simple man .And when I want to hit the roads fast I take my CRX Honda mini me combo no VTEC but have a 11.1 compression and 272 cam and she only weight 1600 pounds junkyards parts really CCR born in the byouooooo jjj 😁 but I never will sale my either of them amigo one for the mountains and one for the streets jjjj 😁

    Is this a obd0 car?? Because i live in the netherlands and i have an eg4 automatic
    I'm gonna swap it to an manuall with a po4 b15b2 but i want to swap it to a mini me when it's manual
    It is obd0 i have the whole ond1 harnas but this would be way easyer i hope you understand me and can give me an explenation

      Hi, this is an OBD1 car, so you will need an OBD1 ECU to run the VTEC head

      Sorry about that, I will find new links. In the meantime you can Google honda small terminal ecu pins and honda large terminal ecu pins and find them. Make sure it says OBD1. Thanks for watching

    i have a d16y8 with a p28 obd0 to obd1 and i have to rewire my vtec, do i use the original plug to the oil pressure switch or make a new one like you did

      I guess the question is does your harness have VTEC wiring? Mine did not, therefore I had to make my wire.

      @@RiggsGarage yes i it is i have a oil pressure switch zip tied to the side and there’s a purple wire on the a4 on the p28 that’s just flying around so i’m guessing i just connect the oil pressure switch and connect the purple wire coming from from the a4 to the green wire from the vtec solenoid?

      @@RiggsGarage Np bro. U actually have to on the swap ur doin. AEM makes a nice one for about 80$ as well u need to use the timing belt from the head ur using.

    my civic is 95 ph16 non VTEC my friend give me an engine ph16a VTEC.my ECU is P28 stock no chipping and program just stock, all i need is to add a wire just like you do sir,,im from Phillipines thank you, god bless

      I’m in the process of doing a mini me swap on my original Y7 I’ve sourced most parts beside the original y8 manifold si I was thinking of just going with a skunk 2. I’ll be looking into it thanks for the help.

    I've got a 2003 civic. Should it go over about the same as it did here? Replace with a compatible ECU and run a couple wires? What about the radio anti-theft. Will I need the code for the new ECU or is the code I have now going to unlock it
    The engine works fine without the VTEC enabled ECU for around town but it has absolutely no power after 4k and as a result driving on the highway is sketchy af now so I'm trying to get that fixed. It's not the end of the world but will definitely be nice

      Hi, I don't have much experience with the d17 the 1.7 l in those. It is different from what I'm working on here and I know there's not really any performance following on them so I haven't really read up on them. I'm sure you can make some numbers with him, I just don't have any experience there

      @@RiggsGarage thanks bud! I'm not even looking for numbers tbh, Im just looking to be able to get up to speed on the highway in a reasonable time lol. I haven't timed it but my 0-60 is like 30+ seconds and 60-80 is another 15-20 thanks to the vtec not engaging

      Yikes, even without VTec the acceleration should be way faster than that, sounds like something's wrong with the engine

    I bought a 5 speed civic that has a p28-A52 ecu. The car runs with it, I'm trying to connect the vtec but I noticed in your video mentioning my ecu might be a auto. Will it still work?

      Is your car a manual transmission? I'm not sure if the auto ECU would work well in a manual transmission car, but it might, give it a shot!

      I know this is a year old and you already know the answer but those who don't know, yes, your auto ecu will run your manual transmission. You will just have a cel for the automatic lockout solenoid. No, it won't affect driveability

    Amigo I'm thinking to rebuild my D15B2 with better rods and do a mini me with a d16z6 vtec head port and polish and better intake manifold and bigger cam and turbo the thing up in my CRX honda do you think it will be a good set up with a gd tune amigo thanks

      With pistons and rods it will be great! Basically exactly what I'm building right now, just with a b7 block, p2p0 rods, Vitara pistons. Good luck and have fun!

      @@RiggsGarage thanks amigo I think 5 pound to 8 pound should be gd enough for me to dry around and have fun nothing wild but the CRX really don't weight much really 100 hp more from stock should be more than enough for me

      @@RiggsGarage yeah but I'm staying with 10.1 with the d16z6 vtec head with stock Pistons no Vitara pistons only to have fun still will be a gokart on storoid in the streets jjjjj and highways I want to kp bottom stock but with better rods and bolts and rpm head bolts will be nice to drive around and make the big boys mad jjjjjjj she will be a falcon in higher rpm with a gd cam her suspension is mostly alluminum parts she is a feather weigh fighter jjjj 😁 thanks

      D16y5 has to be used with the obd2 stock ecu because its the only vtec-e ecu its not the same as the REAL power performance VTEC we all know of

    I did the swap car runs but after warming up it idles down til it dies idk whats wrong with it no check lights

      Could be multiple things. Is it cutting off fast or slow gradual die? Check the iacv, very common Honda idle problem

      It’s the timing it’s off if you pull the the vacuum from the fuel regulator and put your finger on the vacuum hose it will idle normal

    Question: I want to put on a D16 head with vtec on my car. But it is an automatic. ECU numbers are P3Y-G51. What ECU would I need to make vtec work? Or will it work on this one?

      I don't remember all the ECU identification codes off the top of my head, but you would just need an automatic VTEC ECU to run that VTEC head on your automatic car

      From what I've read, the D16Y8 flows the best in Dyno testing. It's also fairly available still so I would grab that if you have the choice

      Really when it's all said and done, you'll have a slow car either way unless you run some boost to that thing. I could destroy my hatchback in a drag race with my stock Dodge Caravan

    Does it run like normal with the p28 computer I'm doing the same swap I have a y8 head and d15b7 block so do I need to have a chip. For it to work or no

      Yep, that computer is made to control a d series with VTec. No chipping needed unless you're tuning it for other mods like boost, just the wiring change I have in my video. In fact, I ran my minime on my stock non VTec p06 computer for months, it worked fine, just no VTec of course.

    Just got an eg hatch d15b7 for my first car, at some point i want to mini me forged and turbo, maybe get into 350/400 hp at crank. Anyone know if its doable with the 1.5?

      its really hard to find rods for a d15 thats the only reason you might wanna swap to a d16 the pistions are all the same tho

      Working in my mini me nothing crazy just vitara pistons forged rods (eBay) and t25 turbo (eBay) and good nice ecu (fuel tech 450) no dizzy just individual k series coils and having fun lol

      @@alehrims you basically just named exactly what I want to do lol I've been reading up on the T25 turbo it seems right for this engine. A lot of guys are bolting on the t3 t4 turbos and not getting boost till like 4 or 5000 RPM. I want it now

      Is the best set up for this d series quick spool simple bolt ons safe and reliable , best part not worry about blown the engine I can give you the parts list and names for the parts and good set up for it
