There's no one in the world that just went on the ultimate surf trip to Pipeline and surfed the biggest wave of their life and then come back to the East Coast in the freezing cold winter and say this is the best wave ever, except Gravy!! Love it!! Aloha!!

Love your STOKE!!!!!!! The video makes it look 'easy' but this only comes after never giving up despite stubbed toes, broken bones, broken boards, being blown out, too flat . . . . and getting SKUNKED, SKUNKED, SKUNKED. But the perseverance paid off. Great stuff.

Maybe Gawaii doesn’t have the best wave in the world.
The surf competitions have made the north shore popular. But this is a big planet. Nazare was flying under the radar for years while everyone thought Maverick’s was the biggest and heavy wave in the world. And Nazare gets three to four times bigger than Mavericks.
I think the North Shore gets way to much of the spot light, especially since it’s only the winter swells that draw the biggest crowds.
I think the best wave in the world hasn’t been discovered yet. And I kinda hope so because that’s what keeps surfing interesting.

The claim goes on Ben - King of Novelty - albeit the novelty of maxing Jaws or tanker waves of South Carolina - outer reefs Oregon or rock pools in Hawaii- absolutely guaranteed quality viewing. Happy to be a part of this legacy. It simply gets better .... ( JT nailed it)

those waves are like when I ride my skateboard in the wind when it blows over 30 mph. I live in North Dakota and the wind has been know to blow hard sometimes. The roads are pretty much empty so I can skate and rip the whole road. go about 8 miles and your feet are numb from the vibration. I'm 65 so I try not to fall, living the old man dream.
Cool, I am 63 and got like 300 miles on my Carver. Do you use a sail ? Look me up on Utube "windboarding", took my sail from skateboard to skim board. Living in FLA, ND is too far.
I love the content makes me want to go out daily and surfing

My friend had family that lived on Kent Island MD along the shore. As kids we would wait for big tankers and cargo ships to come and go from the port of Baltimore and boogie board and skimboard the waves. We would have to wait a minute or 2 for the waves to make it to shore but you could always see them coming. Good times.
It would be a great ride for "the Legend". Those are container ships not tankers. A tanker would likely displace even more water. I wonder if it was better with or against the current. For some reason I bet against it would be bigger. Those are just ships not Mega Tankers. One of those Megas would really make waves. Great vlog!
Thanks for pointing out that they are not tankers! I’m a little surprised to hear people who clearly spend time on the water get that wrong. But an interesting video all the same and I hope I’m not nitpicking too much.
Was looking for someone to make this point, but didn't want to be that guy. Also agree that the displacement of the tankers may produce a larger wake, maybe he should head down to Galveston
