Hi! I'm An Scott. I'm a happily retired 70 year old woman with my “golden years” on the horizon, living the “good life”, whatever that is on any given day, with my fun husband Jeff, and our “bossy” little Yorkie, Bella.
In just a few months, in April, 2024, when Jeff retires, we are moving from SW Florida, in the good old USA to Nice, France to live out our “golden years” on the sunny Mediterranean coast of southern France, in Nice France.
Moving from the USA to a foreign country is no small “project”. Through my videos, we’ll be taking you through the process, sharing the steps, talking about what we’ve learned and the ups and the downs.
SUBSCRIBE, FOR FREE, to my channel and as we progress through the steps of doing that, you’ll be able to follow along through each stage of our preparation and then catch up with us, as we settle in to our new life. We might even have some information you’re going to need if you’re also planning a move to France (or the EU)
For now, come with us as we embrace our days and nights living everyday as though there is no tomorrow.

I have to say, dear Ann and Jeff that I enjoyed watching and imagining the taste of every single bite of your meal. What
a great experience! The food presentation was something out of a gourmet magazine and the ambiance looked very welcoming and charming. I got a kick out of you being escorted to Maria’s restaurant across the street for the “Cheese Course.” It seemed like you were taking part in a theatre piece. Maria’s place was so beautifully decorated. Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing this experience with us.

How long should I enter France after receiving a French long stay visa? Do I need to arrive in France within 1 month? Or should it arrive within 2 months?
    Is there a set period?

Typically your Visa is good for 1 year from the date they issue it. So you can take as long as you want to to get to France, but keep in mind that the clock is ticking. The year doesn't start when you get there. It starts when your Visa is issued. So if you wait to go to France, for months, keep in mind that come around 10 months from the date of issue, you're going to have to take the necessary steps to start to renew that 1 year Visa, before that first year is up. They say to apply for the Visa around 90 days before you expect to arrive in France that way you have plenty of time to apply, get your in-person appt and then pack and go. On your online application you tell them what date you want to start living in France and you'll provide copies of your airline tickets showing when you're leaving at your in-person interview. So plan ahead..
