    This channel is by far the best channel for drone reviews. Dustin really pushes these drones to their limits, especially when testing the max flight distance which is a great thing to know for the average drone consumer who usually will not be going out anywhere near these distances but can feel safe knowing they can go quite a ways without the possibility of loosing connection, or even worse loosing a drone. I only watch this channel when k wanna find out the max range of a new drone on the market. Thanks for all the great videos that are so helpful to a lot of people who are looking to get into the hobby, or people just wanting to know the capabilities of a new release.

    I am thinking that DJI should give us a bit more time to react when notified to return to home.
    You might be able to fake a faster dive by being in head tracking mode and changing the angle of the camera with your head as you point the control stick down.

    Hey, watching this for the 4th time BEFORE I even got mine delivered! Now watching the 5th, I did my very first in the GARAGE! Only flown the Mini 3 and 4 Pro, so these controls are totally foreign to me! WAS gonna try goggles with Mini 4 Pro, but went right to my A-2. Been so apprehensive on flying FPV, I don’t have an observer so have to fly in totally secure locale for now. Getting use to the new sounds too…may take a while. Thanks again!

  • @hummerzdca
    @hummerzdca 5 месяцев назад

    This is my fifth time watching this one since I finally unboxed, charged and updated mine now! WOW~I got the Fly More combo, and using a silver inked Sharpie, numbered my batteries to balance the charges/cycles more evenly. It’s surprising how that organization helps. YES, I think I said I’d do first practice in my garage, and SLOWLY flew around it to get comfortable with maneuvering it. Nectar really hit anything except when I flew a little to high about a crossover beam where the downdraft suction made it suck towards the ceiling for a second, will have to practice in the house one day. Thanks for the post! You’re the best.🇺🇸

    Excellent video. I now realize that I've been too timid with my Avata 2. Your video showed me just what it was capable of in terms of those "threading the needle" shots. It's crazy to think that as fast as you were screaming around in sports mode, the Avata 2 will do 60mph in manual mode with the controller 3. The remote is definately going on my Santa list. I'm also curious what effect the ND filters will have on the camera. Supposedly it allows you to get some good motion blur. Your property is beautiful, by the way, and really added to the demo. Thanks for posting.

    Got my Avata 2 on Friday. First flight was diappointing as I realized the controller didn't work and it was showing a gimbal calibration error--wouldn't move the gimbal. I did a firmware refresh with hopes it would clear up but nothing changed. Called DJI service. They walked me through everything I had already done. Nothing changed. I went on forums and began finding people who have the same issue. DJI techs were on the forums as well saying that firmware refreshes should fix the problems and everyone was coming back saying that it wasn't changing. AHHH!! I finally talked with Best Buy where I got the drone and they said to bring it back for a return. Bought a second one and can't wait to get it out and fly it this afternoon on this beautiful day!! Hopefully it won't have the same problems!!

    This is one of the best reviews of the Avata 2 I've seen so far! 👍🏻
    Not only because of your beautiful backyard but also you are very happy while flying 😊
    First I got the Avata 1 Fly more combo with the goggles integra.
    Last week I purchased the Avata 2 drone only and connected it successfully with my existing goggles and motion 2 controller. Because of bad weather here, I only flew in my apartment 😁

    You can set your RTH so the drone will hover instead of rise before it comes home. Do this when you spend your day under the trees. Change it back to normal when you are in the wide open. You need to do this so when you lose connection, the drone won't rise up to come home and since you have no connection, the red button won't stop it. If you lose connection, you want the drone to hover and then you can take a hike and hopefully reconnect in a few seconds and take back control. Ultimately when the battery gets too low, it will probably just land where it is.

    The flip & roll options seem pointless. I appreciate knowing the limitations you're showing, as well as bugs to fix. There are so many features, it'd be nice if selected/most desired features could be added to the Home screen. The Turtle feature is pretty cool, but it seems like the rocks it landed on broke the propeller. Maybe they need a titanium hampster ball on each :)

    I guess you figured out already, just because the prop possible cracked or broken doesn’t mean it is. I have had that message pop up a couple times and my props are still good as new.
    I am removing all my props at the end of the day after flying cleaning all the props with no issues. The warning just says,”you could have a cracked or broken prop.” Doesn’t mean you do. It cannot tell. It just knows it not working correctly and that is one of the primary problems to check. ❤

    Hi Dustin, I've always watched your videos and greatly appreciate your work. Because of your reviews, I'm going to get the Avatar 2, but before I do is it possible you could do a long-distance landing and take-off test? I mean you could fly about 3 to 4 miles away land the drone maybe on a high-visibility landing pad, and then take off again. I would greatly appreciate a video like that and I'm sure many others who watch your video would like to see a long-distance landing and take-off test. 😊

    • @DustinDunnill
      @DustinDunnill  7 месяцев назад

      I've been asked to do this a lot. It would need to be a well scouted area so no obstruction was maintained on ground between drone and pilot which is very hard to do. Otherwise it will immediately trigger RTH.
      I'll see what I can do but not sure on a timeline 🍻

    Wow, what a cool video, thank you! I've been debating on picking one of these up... I think this pushed me over. This thing looks like a blast! What a gorgeous area too, love the arid landscape there. Do you mind sharing what state/area this was shot in?

    Great video. Dang you beat the heck out of that bird! LOL. Care Refresh for the Avata 2 is awesome. $99 for 2 years & only $29 per incident deductible.

    Great review! Can you film a max range test like you did with the original Avata?

    In watching all the time used making settings changes, is there a way to to put backup power on it to save battery while you do all these change stuff? Love that you cleared up a couple of my concerns, especially since mine will be here on the 21st of the most.

    Can parts of the body be replaced if they do get damaged? Im v concerned about how easy the underside sensor got damaged. Having a printer im sure bumpers will be designed shortly if not already

      Yes, but it may take a bit until DJI or 3rd parties have parts available. Usually not as easy to work on as your diy drones which is to be expected. Or you could send in to DJI for repair. Quick turnaround and very reasonable pricing in my experiences 🍻

    Really enjoyed your review. Obviously did not read the manual or you would have known about the sensors. I hope to be able to fly as good as you some day. Thanks!

      Don't remember seeing in manual about the sensors in the pre release demo I was reviewing. Perhaps I missed it 🍻

    Bardwell has mentioned that it's not rear cameras he even tested it by putting his hand behind it to see how it would react, the rear sensors are more so to keep your height locked no matter how the quad is pitched.

      Yep, they don't seem to do anything noticeable. Just would have been nice to slow or stop at rear obstacles. I could see it being a crash save if you did a 180 slide and it stopped at a tree 🍻
