I think this video is excellent. I used your link to buy a cable after searching amazon first. You picked out a very nice cable (micro usb to usb 3). I'm going to see if I can connect my galaxy tab s8 11" to my mavic mini. I got a mount that looks pretty good. Might be very heavy at 2 lbs. I'll find out. I already checked, and it supposedly works well with DJI fly. I was using a tiny refurb iphone 6s i bought just for the drone for about a hundred bucks, but now that I'm getting a new tablet, I'm going to see if I can manage such a large tablet in my hands. I have a feeling it is going to feel top heavy, while at the same time I'm excited about having a huge screen to see. Thanks again for this video, as it really helps a lot.
Brilliant video, just bought the dji mavic mini and my iPhone 12 Pro Max is a bit too big for controller. Thanks for the heads up I’ve now ordered a cable and phone holder. 👍👍👍👍
Finally, somebody who hopefully will know how to connect my Samsung TAB A7 to my Mavic Mini controller. The DJI Fly app. connected to my tablet in a few seconds but the connecting cable to the controller remains an issue. I contacted a 'major' supplier here in Sydney Australia, and they shipped out the supposed 'correct cable' but I noticed on the cable box that it was for a Mavic Air 2, and not Mavic Mini. Naturally, they said it would work, and naturally, it didn't. When connected I can see the camera view but when I try to 'connect to aircraft' it fails to do so. Can you advise what cable I need or should I just forego the big screen advantages and stick with my phone?

Using extension cables for both an i-phone and an Android phone I suffered hours of frustration. "Not connected to Device " was the continual screen message. When connected it sometimes lost connection in flight. (2 phones 2 cables tested) The supplied cables which had been set aside were used and the device and controller etc connect right away, no problems. Months of problems. Apparently there is electronics in the plug at one end. I would like longer cables but spending £ on wrong ones does not appeal.
Im sure that this has already been answered but do you need an Ipad with Cellular to use with the dji drones? Or will the WIFI version be ok? Thanks in advance!

I typically just stick with the iPhone since its a little more portable, and the screen on the iPhone XR is large enough. I only use the iPad in situations where multiple people need to see the screen at once.

You have no idea how difficult it is to find a micro USB to USB C connection that works with mini on amazon.ca.... thanks for the info I'd love to have just 1 - 1 foot / 30 cm cable but looks like I'm going to go with the option B - maybe once I upgrade to a bigger tablet it will come in handy.
Now i have read that the cable does not support charging if thats true im soo buying it, becuase when im on site my controller battery dies fast due to it charging my phone. Someone let me know please!! Thanks
So here's a weird one. I got desperate when I lost my dji cable that was usb-c. so I could only find locally a mini usb to usb a(female), then I connected a usb(male) to usb-c to my phone. all it does is , the phone charges the controller and the controller doesn't think it is connected to connect to the aircraft. is that inherent to a usb style connection ?
I bought a micro usb to USB-C cable for my Mavic Mini controller When I connect this to my OnePlus5t my phone does not receive any input from the controller. I've turned on USB debugging in my developer settings and still can't seem to get this to work Any suggestions ?
I'm assuming you figured it out by now but I had the same issue just last week my phone was not on the DJI approved phone list for the Drone luckily I had a spare Galaxy S6 laying around which was on the list
Isn’t it pointless to use a tablet? It’s just scaling up the iPhone version and making it look blurry. There’s no native resolution iPad version of the DJI fly app. The thing I don’t like about that mount is it doesn’t work with my iPhone case. You can’t get the usb cable through the slot. I got it so I Could keep my case on but no luck.

I just got a Lekufee adapter for my iPad Mini to use with the Mavic Mini controller. Going to order a data cable.
I used my iPhone with my mavic mini and streamed it to the tv with my Apple TV . Does your controller charge up the iPhone ?

You may have a charge only cable, meaning it does not carry data. You can find on Amazon a charge/data cable usually same price.
