I remember the moment , when Dean Martin started to sing . It mesmerized me. His voice filled out the movie theatre . Was as sweet as molasses on a warm sunny day. Only much latter I have learned that he was training his vocal cords by singing to a board held in front of his mouth , to hear his own aliquots ( a very short frequencies "surrounding" the main sung notes ). Still years later I discovered an incredibly subttle vibrato that was all his. Stating it simply , Dino was a fantastically professional and talented singer. Thank to people like him this world is well worth living in it. The beauty that they give to all of us.
So my father got me started on old films, mostly due to the fact that he was completely blind and had lost sight totally around the time I was born, so anything we'd watch together was always old because he could remember seeing it, and could watch it in his head. This movie started an obsession with Dean Martin, because I was a kid and had no idea how famous he actually was. John Wayne is my favorite actor, and Dean Martin is still my favorite singer. This movie has so much nostalgia for me, and this scene brings back so many great memories. End nostalgia rant.

Watched this on TCM last night... this part felt like I was just hanging out with these guys. Love how John Wayne is smiling, it seems like it was his genuine reaction while filming this scene.
No matter how old you are, what music you like you can not dislike this. Great happy songs sung by two great singers. Have liked this since I first saw the movie back when I was very young.
Such a classic, Dean Martin absolute legend, best John Wayne movie ever simply because of this masterpiece , perfectly captures on screen what it means to be a true cowboy
This movie had one of the all time great John Wayne lines When Dean Martin asked if Rick Nelson was as fast as he used to be, "I wouldn't want to have to live on the difference," Classic Wayne.
My grandfather saw this movie when he was in his twenties and he was beyond thrilled to see it as a youtube video on our tv. I used to show him videos of oldies back when I was with him, as I have been for 16 whole years. Now I am 6,810km away from him and he doesn't want to listen to these songs as it reminds him of the times we had. God I'm homesick.
Legends will never die ...almost 60 years ago this song reached little town in Poland. Now in California I discovered Dean Martin again. Such a talent and great man.
Gotta love being Italian. Dean Martin is one Man that can never be replaced amazing Singer & a great Actor👌 such a shame we will never see another like him❤
I loved this movie. Dean and Ricky sure could sing. Two legends, along with Walter and John, not to forget a great story, made this a classic. RIP gentlemen.
Four true immortals and two great singers. I grew up with the Nelsons, as a lonely little boy, they were like a family to me. Ricky is the best. We still have them all four on film. Don't forget the wonderful Howard Hawks who brought Rio Bravo to us, wow!
Dean Martin was still making his comeback after splitting with Jerry Lewis. This was one of several movies where he proved he could hold his own with established actors. Before long he had proved he made the right decision in breaking up the most popular comedy act in history. By the way; singing while lying down is a lot harder than you might realize.
I am actually watching this movie right now and is one of my favorites. I remember when I was a kid and watching it in the movie theatre when it first came out. All major talented stars of their time and movies were made to entertain people because they had to go to a movie theatre to see them. This movie along with so many others as stood the test of time and immortalized the actors who are long gone.
Mein absolutes Lieblingslied aller Zeiten! Vielen Dank fürs Teilen!! Ricky Nelson und Dean Martin bilden mit ihren beruhigenden Stimmen ein unglaubliches Duo!

It would've been so easy for this scene to make the whole film go south--basically bringing the plot to a halt for the sake of a couple songs--and I've seen that very thing happen in other movies. Here, this was hands down my favorite part of Rio Bravo. It shows characters that are going to fight together bonding and further humanizes them to the audience. Plus when you have a music legend like Dean Martin on screen, you *gotta* flaunt it. (And of course it really helps that the songs are really catchy)
dean had a great voice..ricky had a really good sound on Amarillo here . i got this soundtrack lifted and turned into an mp3 and i live in a biggish city ..when i ride my bike all that comes out of my bike radio/tif/btooth/flashlight combo are songs from the 70s with some 60s and 50s... and THESE 2 SONGS AS WELL lol i can tell alot of people havent heard 1970s music as heads turn..i only put real good songs on my tif card...im 56 and have ridden a bike for 51 years without training wheels..and it has kept me young as people mistake me for late 30s...i dont ride around car exhaust..usually ride at late night early morn and in day on side streets.....anyway . im a big beatles fan..but dont have any on the bike radio...when i ride in to parkinglots like wal mart and lock my bike up by the carts sometimes people ask me''what song is that'' dont call us we'll call you'' by sugarloaf...or once in the light rain i actually had ''raindrops keep falling on my head'' bj thomas as i pulled in...and one girl said ''thats the right song''...anyway i also put this ''rifle pony and me'' into fallout nv pc game and it and others helped to supplement the 10 songs or so that game rotates on the game radio. this is a great song with 2 great performers.and the movie was great too.
@Rhonda Boncutter. Yes, sadly all them are now gone. The knew how to make good movies and music back then that's for sure. One small correction. The movie is "Rio Bravo". "Rio Lobo" was the another western John Wayne appeared in about 10 years later.

The best John Wayne movie in my opinion, watched this with my dad when I was young and still. Classic movie, great song. 🔥🔥👍
don't forget « The man who shot Liberty Valance », « She Wore a Yellow Ribbon », …
@@aurelienlevigan852 good ones too.
As a non prime English speaker, this song always had been a joy to listen, it's very understandable as a beginner and at the same such a good scene in this such a good western!
I remember Tony Soprano was eating ice cream while watching this and refused to turn the television off when Carmela asked him too

Watched this on TCM last night... this part felt like I was just hanging out with these guys. Love how John Wayne is smiling, it seems like it was his genuine reaction while filming this scene.
Eli Cash . I noticed Wayne's regard of the singing too. I thought it really added to the scene
and thankfully Duke didn't join in!

You'll see a similar reaction from Sammy Davis Jr when Frank, Dean and Bing are singing Style in Robin And The Seven Hoods. Movie magic.
The smoothest Voice in Showbusiness! Dean Martin
Greater then "Blue Eyes"!
Dean was underrated.
Just an incredible scene . Timeless . Never to be repeated .
No matter how old you are, what music you like you can not dislike this. Great happy songs sung by two great singers. Have liked this since I first saw the movie back when I was very young.
Dean Martin just the King of cool.

Świetny Western i te piosenki i wykonawcy ...
I feel so blessed to grow up with these actors and what a song.
This song reminds me of my dad. Every Thanksgiving we watched this after football. My favorite part of the day.
Same here brother
Ten utwór raz wpadnie w ucho i nie zapomni się nigdy jego brzmienia... 🤗🤗🤗
I watched this as a Kid....and was very impressed......amazing...
Me too ! Also very impressive " Once Upon A Time in The West " .
This was my dad's one of his favorite songs....And thanks to him I get these songs in my memories...Long after he is gone into that sunset. (2009)
Superb vocals from Dean in particular.Just love this movie and this was one of the best scenes.Sublime.
Gigi le mie canzoni
I cry every time I hear his voice. Dean Martin was an incredible person and so underrated.
He could do it all...sing, act,...was one of the funniest men...I swear...in those roasts of his....he was an amazing talent.
I cry when I hear him sing, “ Return to me” too & soooo handsome!!❤️
@@SAMcMahanBlue1 Standing on the corner, watching all the girls go by.
Dean made everything look (and sound) effortless. What a magnificent entertainer he was.
Best song that's ever been done about the Western movies. Can't get any better than Dino + Ricky
Words are inadequate to appreciate the music, juxtaposition of characters. Truly a great cinema moment.
Que grandes actores y cantantes, que pena que ya no hay actores y musica de esa época que nunca pasará de moda
Their voices blended together like the sweetest honey.
I agree. I'm drunk. Cheers.
You sound gay talking about men like that
Exceptionnel moment de Cinéma et grande nostalgie 😔🙃🙏🍀💙Merci 🇨🇵
Legends will never die ...almost 60 years ago this song reached little town in Poland. Now in California I discovered Dean Martin again. Such a talent and great man.
love Rio Bravo the movie ...and the songs in the movie!! ..with Ricky Nelson, Dean Martin,John Wayne...and "Stumpy"....

Dean was 100x more talented than Jerry. Same with Sinatra
Pure talent can’t get any better than this
His children must be so proud too have the coolest man as a Dad. A voice that makes women swoon and men wish they were him...
Deano definitely had the makings of a varsity athlete.
Golden comment.
This comment deserves way more likes 😂
I was searching for a sopranos reference in the comments and you gave it to me.
Dean can make any style of music sound GREAT
I am actually watching this movie right now and is one of my favorites.
Don't listen to classics too often but definitely love Dean Martin. Great song.
He was a great actor and had one of the best voice I've heard.
One of my absolute favorite scenes in any movie..EVER. Legendary.
I loved Deano where not only sings beautifully but acts very nicely, thank you very much. All principals were good, which makes for a very good movie.
My uncle passed away yesterday he loved this song my dad passed away 1993 the two of them used to sing this song with each other Fond memories forever ❤️☘️
My favorite Western. I love this scene so much. Dean Martin was amazing, so was Ricky Nelson. ❤❤❤
Two of the greatest male voices of all time. WOW!
Thanks Dean, Nelson and Walter❤️ may love and music spread around the world

@@markharrison2544 Fuckin troll.
@James Henderson Is that why he and Sammy Davis Jr. were such good friends?
It would've been so easy for this scene to make the whole film go south--basically bringing the plot to a halt for the sake of a couple songs--and I've seen that very thing happen in other movies.
Here, this was hands down my favorite part of Rio Bravo. It shows characters that are going to fight together bonding and further humanizes them to the audience. Plus when you have a music legend like Dean Martin on screen, you *gotta* flaunt it. (And of course it really helps that the songs are really catchy)
But don't forget Rick... In ths Movie he was the Newcommer, but he was a star too.

dean had a great voice..ricky had a really good sound on Amarillo here . i got this soundtrack lifted and turned into an mp3 and i live in a biggish city ..when i ride my bike all that comes out of my bike radio/tif/btooth/flashlight combo are songs from the 70s with some 60s and 50s... and THESE 2 SONGS AS WELL lol i can tell alot of people havent heard 1970s music as heads turn..i only put real good songs on my tif card...im 56 and have ridden a bike for 51 years without training wheels..and it has kept me young as people mistake me for late 30s...i dont ride around car exhaust..usually ride at late night early morn and in day on side streets.....anyway . im a big beatles fan..but dont have any on the bike radio...when i ride in to parkinglots like wal mart and lock my bike up by the carts sometimes people ask me''what song is that'' dont call us we'll call you'' by sugarloaf...or once in the light rain i actually had ''raindrops keep falling on my head'' bj thomas as i pulled in...and one girl said ''thats the right song''...anyway i also put this ''rifle pony and me'' into fallout nv pc game and it and others helped to supplement the 10 songs or so that game rotates on the game radio. this is a great song with 2 great performers.and the movie was great too.
Rio Lobo such a fantastic Movie, full of GREATS, all who have passed! So so missed!
@Rhonda Boncutter. Yes, sadly all them are now gone. The knew how to make good movies and music back then that's for sure.
