Just about everyone wants to eventually have a dream workshop like yours for any craft projects/business. And the upside is your neighbour proximity-so you can make noise earlier and later???. The attic storage is amazing!!! You’re a hard worker and living in New Foundland like New Zealand it’s very similar looking and being an island, shipping and the pricing is a killer. The stones in the dig (beautiful big fireplace). As an ex-carpenter, stylish and very well built. Wish I had one. Thanks for the journey.- Grant.

That is the perfect size but if you could, you probably wish it was bigger. I remember building my first shed when I moved, I build my second shed and made it bigger. That was 26 years ago. Today I wish it was bigger. That is the size garage I wish I had but I should have built it years ago.
    Nice job!

I used to work out of a two car garage. It was a huge step up from working on a gravel driveway. Bought a new house with a 2 car detached garage and then added another 2 car space behind it with a loft on top. So now it's 24x48, same square footage as your 32x36. Having insulation and heat was a game-changer for me to be able to get things done over the winter. Good lighting is another. When you were building your welding cart and assembling your tube bender I was nodding right along with you when you were talking about being very mindful about how you use your space. Having twice as much room as before it's easy to think you have room for a lot of stuff. It's very nice but there's no excess space to waste. You have to be selective about what you need, and creative about how to place things so you don't limit the usefulness of the shop. Love the content here and the main channel. Watching you the last few years has been great motivation for me as well as learning to do metal shaping and repairs that seemed out of reach before with limited tools. Keep the tips coming! They're always good.

Hi Tony. Neat video! Love shop builds and you are certainly right saying it's not an inexpensive undertaking. I think everyone, myself included, dreams of having 3000 square feet of shop space but your build is more practical and you have enough room for everything you need. I can't even get a car into my garage so I do my work in the driveway. I grew up doing repairs in the street, on a busy street so the driveway is an improvement. I would say that you have come a long way from the original building! Thanks for the video!

That was interesting, seeing the stages of construction of how your garage was built. We've done similar builds at our place here in Queensland Australia. We do a lot ourselves, but big jobs like concrete slabs we have to get done by contractors like you did.

Fitzee, this second channel is really neat! I do like the metal working, welding, and grinding, but I am always curious as to what's it like in your neighborhood. You are like a guide going on your journeys ,hunting for ol iron, swap eats, and the 4x4trips, beautiful. Thanks😅

That was very cool to watch your shop come together in pictures, my shop is 50’wide x 30’ deep with 16’ ceilings it’s metal sided metal roof 2 roll up doors ( 1 14’x14’ and the other is 7’x8’ it’s taking a while to get it insulated and plywood on the walls and ceiling and the electrical done but my kids and I love it we’ve got a hoist , compressor, mig welder, and now I’m finishing the wood shop side and loft And get my radiant heat installed this year in my spare time and as money is available. I watched the shop go up and the concrete go in from pictures my wife would send while I was on the road trucking

And yet MORE inspiration. Does the building have deep footings (for below the frostline) or does the whole thing "float" on gravel somehow? Here in New England, we have to go down at least 4' in order to get below frostline for the outer perimeter. The size is deceiving. It looks smaller than it is. A friend of mine up in Tewksbury, Massachusetts has a 28 x 36 garage with a really nice car lift (talking a pro-grade unit, not one of those Made-in-China knockoffs). When he built the garage, he had them excavate down 4 feet where the lift was going to be placed and secured 1" threaded rod laced into the re-bar. I had the pleasure of working on may Dad's Grand Marquis up there and there is nothing like having a lift! Great video (as always)! Carry on.

It's what we call a slab. It's 18 inches on the outer edge. What the slab sits on is 4 feet of rock. That takes me to the frost line
