The Gander bay old iron collection

a collection of projects in a small part of Newfoundland called Gander Bay. Not something you see much on the Island. old cars are not easy to find and to find a field full is a bonus.
Walking beam trail project, The wheels
Просмотров 5 тыс.2 месяца назад
getting started on a walking beam trailer for my side by side. First on the list is to get a set of wheels figure out. I am building this from junk I have found so this project is not as simple as bolting on a set of wheels. I have four wheels and and four hubs. problem is wheels don't fit the hubs.. so lets make them fit!

What would I need one of these camera for? I was surprised how handy these cam be working at the bodywork part of the industry .this camera can be a vital tool that can be used in the inspection of those hard to see locations on a vintage car.. Great for finding those missing tools too! Borescope Camera: CA site: s.vevor.com/bfQXXC US site: s.vevor.com/bfQZ06

Update on homemade air filter unit

time to swap out the filters of the homemade air filtering unit and a benefit I never even thought about when I built it.
Thanks Tony 👍💪✌
Hey Tony, another great video. Do you have your air run through a dryer? Thanks Donald
That's a nice looking machine, they need to send you a laser cleaner next. I soak my rusty steel overnight in a solution of vinegar and citric soda and then power wash the steel in the morning. Long tubes like that can be placed in a plastic geyser tray, plastic rain gutter or plastic pipe. It's best to put a lid or a cap on whatever container you are using so that surrounding things don't get a bit of flash rust on them.
Sheeite Fitz, like a hot knife through butter! Never seen that at Princess Auto, lol, how much and where?
If its possible Tony will make a cnc table soon
Great addition Tony, it also seems to me to be a much safer option than using the zip wheels👍
I remember using air-arc rods back in the seventies and early eighties. So much noise, smoke, and flying slag! Things sure have improved. The twenty-first century has arrived😊
Hi, I'm interested in your video, I wonder if there's a chance to work together on it?
I involved with Arccaptain and after doing a few videos on their machines.
Hey Tony! Look at you go! It's just like Santa came early....and you're opening up your presents. Can't wait to put it together, plug it it and cut something up.
Good point with the bottles. I still own my own tanks and probably will not sell them, but that plasma takes up less room. It is getting me thinking now.
I've got two plasma cutters ,one is a Lotus it lasted one cut ,nice looking machine, has plasma arc ? i think that's what it's called , but its junk, Warranty is outta sight as in when its out of their sight its over and done as far as they are concerned bought a Jegs cheapy cuts good , they are handy as a shirt pocket , keep the vids coming Fitz
Thank you so much for using an Arccaptain machine once again! This is part of our new series, and we hope you enjoy it. We are always striving to create products that better suit our users. If you encounter any issues while using it, please feel free to reach out.
No problem glad I could help.
Thanks for supporting guys like Fitze. He does a nice job of showing the machine. That’s good advertising value. I’m more likely to skip a placement ad but I know Ftze’ll give us the straight poop.
@@andynicoll8566 totally agree with you. Fitzee talks straight and truthful. 👍
Pretty slick unit!
Wishing the algorithm all the best. Hope it helps the Flip Side.
I want to see you cut sheet metal instead of using the grinder!
Thats a handy addition to the tool box.
I bought a plasma cutter from Princess Auto. Handy little machine for rough cutting out bigger chunks. Super handy for rough cuts. Disadvantage mainly is if you want a clean cut for welding you have to clean it up any way so often just use the grinder. Still a super handy time saver I. Many cases.
Nice unit. plasma cutters are great tools. They do like clean dry air or it's hard on the consumables. I wonder if Canadian tire will notice a drop in sales of the cut off wheels? LOL
Nice looking plasma cutter, great review Tony
now ya need a cnc plasma table Tony . they are fantastic on cutting shapes and patterns.
Nice. I would need to run on 110.
how is ya Tony . hope your well and doing great restoration .
Nice video, very informative. I was wondering how it will do on sheet metal? Too much heat or can that be controlled?
Need to do some more test with it
What happened to your work bench? How did you do it? I've tried many times, but I just can't get it to look like yours.
How fo I keep it clean?? Lol
The scam run by the gas providers is insane! You can't get your privately owned bottles refilled now. ALL bottles must be leased at an insanely high price. And then you have the cost of the gas! The average guy can't have an oxy-acetylene rig any longer. I've had torches in my shop over 50 years but no longer. You can use oxy- propane but the average guy won't use it enough to justify the expense.
What does one of those babies cost?? Maybe I missed it...🤔
Depends where your from. I don't like adding prices as it varies from country to country
😁 Thanks Tony good show I'v used mine a bit works good saves gas and time.
Hello Fitzee, nice machine, thank you for the review. Take care and stay safe 👍
God demo.
Well done. Much simpler than the oxy/fuel torches. It’s amazing how compact these electric machines are now. I learned cutting with oxy /fuel with giant tanks, a big brass torch and a big heavy smock.
Got me a plasma cutter. Questions I have. ---- How do you know what amp service I need? --- How concerned should I be about "air drying"; __ it appears you just set it on Max amps and a moderate air pressure and you got very acceptable cuts; is it really that simple. Thanks for the demo
Yes it is that simple. If your looking for no slag it will have to be fine tuned.
You reduced that bulk quickly! Saves alot of grinding wheels, am sure you'll follow up with utility usage. Your presentation is a win for you, customers and Arcaptain. Well done Tony!
Thanks for the show and tell, Tony. I was just thinking that your Arccaptain welder is coming up on a year old, and I was curious if you were still happy with it. What does the plasma cutter do with your typical 18 gauge, if you turn the current right down? 👍
I'll have to do some more tests and see
I was thinking engine test stand base frame section with that perfectly squared box tubing. But hey, that’s just me. Great product review, I didn’t think it would make it through the 3/4” section, but it did!
The difference between the men and the boys is the price of their toys... Nice presentation, Tony. I wish you lots of fun and time reduction when you use it. Stick around...
That plasma cutter is a very handy thing to have. One day I might get myself one. At the moment, I use an angle grinder to do what you just did. The plasma cutter is definitely a better proposition than using oxy acetylene, being a way cheaper option and running on electricity and air instead of having to have bottles and buy gas.
Flip it to us!
"The English Wheel in a Can"
Urki system besa urethane does a great satin paint job. It stays wet long enough to blend in, the only downside is it's no where cheap as a rust paint. I painted a 55 pontiac in a few videos a couple months back, check it out
Great video. Loved the part where you cut the circle. I would keep the cheap filters instead of better ones. An HVAC guy once told me that the expensive filters put a lot of strain on the motor and don't circulate the air as well. You have to replace the cheap ones more often, but you get better air flow and less stress on the motor
It’s hell when your brother-in-law comes over and wants to paint. I can also see that you didn’t have any rummy be gone
👍
This vid didn't show up in my feed. I had to hunt for it and missed when it first was posted. I'm sorry I couldn't watch, and help to push the views in time to help.
Just put a sign on window NOT PAINTED BY ME 😂
I can see all the patches and streaks no problem. Bummer
Boy I could use some parts off that blue '37 Oldsmobile
Good to have ad in your video
What if you wet-sand it, Tony? With maybe a 1000 grit to 3000? I'm thinking you'll lose the satin as it would look flat, but then buff it back to satin? I don't have experience with that, just wondering.
You will buff it shiny. Also this is that ruff in spots that you will never get it smooth enough to buff
Nice
Thats a nice machine and usefull too.Have fun with it.
