I have an idea. What if you put a little photo of each snake on the back of their card so you know for sure which snake is which. You can just take the photos when you are cleaning enclosures or something. Just quickly take out the snake, lay it down, and get a top down picture of the upper 3"-9" of snake so you can see defining features like unique headstamp and differences in pattern.
I think they said after they confused some snakes last year that they would go through and confirm with photos next time? So they might be doing that off screen.
I think they did say in a prev vid that they took pics of them before they put them into brumation to double check
It makes me incredibly happy to learn that snakes form cuddle piles during the winter

I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of Still naughty . She was one of my favourites . And I’m glad to see all of the others made it through brumation safe and sound.
Ps - Ed I’d so watch a lapse of you doing mundane tasks .
Under my friends house is just a huge void with a massive rock at the back (because her house was built on super uneven land) and her house is next to a sheer rocky bluff with great sun, so the void just becomes the snake hangout in the winter. We’ve seen a cotton mouth, timber rattler, and copper head all snuggled up with plenty of king snakes (seeing the variety was cool past the sheer terror of being very close to many venomous snakes). Since then we only go under there in the winter if absolutely necessary and stay away from the far back where the rock is because that’s where they just shove themselves bc it’s a heat sink

I know I said this a few videos ago, but I would love a video of snakes, lizards and amphibians doing their thing and Ed doing the voices of the creatures going about their lives (like when he gives them voice saying 'don't poke meh'). That would be amazing. 🐍

I wasn't even paying attention, but then I heard that still naughty didn't make it.. My heart Dropped, I nearly started crying. remembering all the times I was laughing in my bed because i was watching still naughty being super sassy. Rest In Piece Still Naughty, you were one of my favorites.
If you held back a female from Still Naughty, name her Forever Naughty! Like Forever Spicy but naughty instead. Obviously name the Naughtiest of the bunch that LOL!

1000% you could totally do maybe a Q&A or something while doing dishes or just, do the dishes. Honestly, there's a reason there are services available to get paired with a body-double buddy for doing chores. Its a lot easier to get that sort of stuff done if you feel like you're not "suffering alone"
Also, totally looking forward to the next shenanigans video. They're so fun and getting to see the staff enjoy their jobs is great.

I recently realized that I live about a half-hour from the facility, so I hope the animals and staff and Emily and Ed can sense the good vibes I just sent up the freeway!

Would love to see more with Stripey personally! I don't know how much was picked up from the comments but when you bred him with Hannah there was certainly something going on! If you breed him again I'd suggest holding back a male and female just to continue seeing what might be going on. The hatchlings from that clutch did have very clear bellies and some had those segmented stripes!

These animals are so lucky to have owners that so clearly care about their wellbeing, but they are still animals and things can happen from time to time that are out of your control. I really do appreciate you both being honest with your audience and keeping us updated on our favorite animals to watch! Love you both!
been watching alot of reptile stuff recently, i just got out of the hospital yesterday after an allergic reaction to my first snake (western hognose) bit me, i am gutted that i have had to return her but i now have a lovely ghost ball pythonbaby that wont give me the same reaction. Love to see all the hogs you have as they are my favourite snake!

omg, the 2023 egg cutting videos are coming soon. It was Emily's pure joy and excitement while cutting into ready to hatch eggs that first got me interested in the channel and reptile community, now a few years later I have my own corn snake & a few geckos too :3 Excited to see who they pair up and what pretty babies we'll get to see this year!

RIP Still Naughty ❤ we lost two cats at our shelter out of the blue and the autopsy came up inconclusive too and it’s so difficult when you think you’ve done everything right but there are still unexplained losses.

I’ve been watching for a while and this channel has helped me get past my fear of snakes (I used to not be able to go on bush walks due to being afraid of seeing them) and I recently went to my first reptile expo. Thank you for helping me find something I’m so passionate in because If I hadn’t have found this channel I don’t think I would have gotten past my fear and found my favourite animals.

I would love to see a in depth video about what does into the aftermath of filming, ie after you do pull the eggs, after party's, after the day of the zoo being open, the ins and outs of what the efforts you guys actually put in behind the scenes.
Unironically, a dishwashing livestream would probably be full of tips (from you guys and the chat) about how to do dishes more quickly/efficiently, so i kinda wanna see it😅

I always love watching them come out of brumation! My male hognose (Babyccino, a pastel superconda) brumated himself this past winter and, cutting a long but funny story short, bred our female (Ponyo, normal/pos het snow). I've kept snakes for 20 years but have never bred so this is such a fun new experience! Thanks to all of your vids we, my five boys and I, have set up the 5 perfect eggs that she laid a week ago and they are doing great! It's all so exciting!!!

I'm so excited for the subsequent breeding and hatching videos. I work for an alt rock band and these videos get posted during the summer touring season so it's always to watch the videos in random cities when I'm bored of sitting in a car for hours at a time

I love how you guys have dedicated your life to informing others about snakes and other reptiles/amphibians/insects/ and the occasional Cheyenne. Also how you help others who want to start or continue owning/breading by adopting out and breeding many different species. Plue creating a safe space for animals to go when they can no longer be card for in their current situation. I find it inspiring how to stand up for our rights in this trad and overall I just want to say thank you for being a part of my and many others' life.
Also, I am sorry about the passing of Still Naughty and wish them safe travel in the next life.
My cousin once found a hole full of Diamondbacks and corns in her backyard while fixing a pipe. She sent a picture before covering them back up with turf.

I've been excited for this video, always enthusiastic for the coming of baby season and I can't wait for the breeding plans video! But also really sorry to hear about Still Naughty, I hope you guys are doing ok. I know loss is a part of life but any kind of pet death still hurts.
Edit: I actually went back to check on the brumation entry video, and I remembered you said that Still Naughty had an accidental meal and was put into brumation a little later. Does being put into brumation later run a risk of complications or is it usually ok?
As I understand it, snakes in captivity are synced to whatever cycle we give them. So if one is pushed back a week or two, they really don't *know.*

This bums me out a bit, I remember last year that Sabelle had passed away between their brumation video and their breeding video, so I was hoping everyone would make it through a-ok this time.

A dishwashing or chore livestream might be a good idea actually it would Inspire viewers to work on their own projects and you could provide great background commentary. Even though I am not involved in the reptile community I still love to hear you guys talk about it. I'm sure others do too.

I'm so sorry to hear about Still Naughty, it's really hard to lose pets, but even harder when it's a surprise. It was always fun watching the game of "who's brave enough to pick her up?" Regarding breeding plans though: I would highly recommend holding on to some daughters of Stripey/sisters. If Stripey has a mutation, there is a good chance that his sisters might have dominant genes that overrule potential recessive of Stripey's. If Stripey breeds to his daughters, there's a much higher shot of producing any recessive traits. The first white tigers in captivity were produced this way. It would be a few years but if it's for a Stripey mut I think it'd be worth it!

A idea for your identification tags, take a picture of each snake and update it once a year! That way you know 100% what snake is what
You could even put a QR code on the back to link to a photo
