I loved the way Emily talked about Rodger as though he was her firstborn child. “Lemme show you his baby pictures. Oop, that is his sister, but aww she was so cute.” Very adorable.
It's incredible, and also it's a testament to the trust bond they also have together, cause he'd not let either Emily or Ed hold him like that, if he didn't trust them. ❤️ 🐍
Oh this is fantastic seeing new all these new additions. To think we all started viewing when Ed was just an urban myth in your kitchen and now all these beautiful reptiles are educating so many 🫶🫶🫶🫶
To Chloe (Kai’s former owner), thank you for sharing your beautiful snake with Snake Discovery and us! He looks amazing and incredibly healthy, so you must’ve been a wonderful owner and I can’t wait for the updates on him (and I hope you get a baby at some point!). Also, best wishes for college and the new chapter!! 💜
Makes me think of when the mother AND the father of some baby snakes musked on Emily's hand and she said she had to wash her hands (the second time it happened, she added "again.") :)
As cool as it is to see, and despite being like a "baby" to them (she was definitely smaller and has grown a fair bit in the interim), Rex was actually in her mid-20's in that pic! Her original "owner", if you can call him that, kept her in a tiny wooden box for [iirc] ~27 years.
I think all of the false water cobras have really Sweet temperament. Saying that, Roger is just so cuddly it makes you want to take him into the house and watch TV with him.
Comparing snakes, yay lavenders! Emily just sat there with the biggest goffiest smile on her face looking like she's holding a baby human about to give it so many hugs and kisses
Every time I think Emily can't get any cuter, she uploads another video and the cuteness goes right off the chart. It's like she's turned up to 11 all the time. 😄
This is great to be surrended the snake that you 2 have been wish listing for awhile. Even better you caught up with Chloe and advised her of how expensive these were, was she sure? Chloe was more concerned that the snake would be taken care of & hoping you would keep it for yourselves. She got to know how thrilled you were & later in a couple of years if she wanted a baby it would be free. That's why people love & follow you two. Honesty, integrity and a true passion for reptiles. (Bet she saw you mention the Lavendar in a video-smart woman) Chloe good luck in college.
Wow, Kai is one lucky snake to have joined the SD family! I've never seen a lavender morph before, and it was so cool to see the purple color on his face as he got out of shed. You're such a pro with snakes, and it's obvious that you have a real love and care for them, even the rescue animals. Thanks for giving them a safe place to call home and helping the ones you don't keep find great homes. I would love to see a video that shows the babies and adults of all the animals. That would be so awesome to watch!
I don't know if this work for you or not, but I believe in cameras and photography if you want a more true depiction of color you can try to put the subject matter on top of a complementary color. So for your lavender snakes, you could try to place them against a yellow or lime green background like a blanket. Because purple is opposite of yellow on the color wheel it helps make the colors look more vibrant.
I'll never forget hanging out with Roger at the first build-off, he's amazing! Kai is gorgeous!! What an amazing story! Sometimes the energy you put out comes back to you in the most unexpected ways.
I always love seeing Emily and Ed with snakes they've had for many years and just how docile/chill they are. Large snakes make me nervous but Doug would just be fun to hold and hang around because he acts like he'd see me as "made of warm", not as a meal.
I appreciate your acknowledgment of all types of surrendering. Some people think that all people who surrender animals are just tired of them but sometimes it's just someone who's life has abruptly changed and know that they cannot properly care for the animal anymore and are making a difficult choice.
Exactly. In one their most recent "Shenanigans" vid, someone had relinquished their collection of over 20 snakes. Their life had turned upside down, health-wise, they couldn't take care of their animals anymore, so Snake Discovery was their answer to help. People's situations are as varied as leaves, and there's no shame in why they had to let their pets go if they think of their animal's welfare first.
Same too. I started watching this channel to help get over my fear of snakes......I love seeing them more but still scared to touch them.....but imporvement?.....I love how they go so swoony over the babies! They are cute.
I guess the universe blessed you for bringing more false water cobras to the hobby. 💚 So happy you guys got your dream snake! Can't wait for the day Emily gets her hyacinth macaw!
I agree with Emily....Roger IS an ultra-cool false water cobra. He's a very pretty boy. Kai is also very beautiful. Do you have a name for the little girl one you are keeping? If you are open to suggestions, perhaps she can be Anita, since her father's name is Roger (from 101 Dalmatians. The owners were Roger and Anita) She's very beautiful too.
Watching Emily scroll through old, (and older) photos made me think it might be a fun thing to see a montage retrospective. You know, captions, "In My Life" background music, soft focus, the whole bit .. no voicing needed, just old snapshots. Anyone else?
I’ve learned everything I know about snakes from you guys. After watching your videos for years, I felt I was prepared enough to get my first snake. I’ve had my ball python for about two years now, and he’s a blast- he’ll ball up on top of my head or on my shoulders and sleep for hours. I never knew snakes could be such huge cuddle bugs!
I love that you've arranged to Kai's previous owner one of his future babies! It sucks that she's not able to keep him, but she knows he has a very good home with you guys! That's all we can ever wish for when we have to rehome our pets!!!
Wow the Lavender falsey is stunning and i love how you offered to give his previous owner a baby when her situation changes and so glad she chose you to rehome him
I absolutely love that you guys work with people especially those who love their animals it's not a want to surrender it's for the animals needs.... You can tell he's taken care of the owner I'm sure is super excited to see how he grows and socializes with you guys.
When you try to display lavenders of any species, perhaps you could try putting them against a yellow background. Yellow sits opposite purple on a typical colour wheel, so in theory yellow might help the purple to stand out on camera.
Oh my goodness, I love you went to the previous owner of Kai to make sure and even worked a deal like that! You guys just prove more and more how honest you guys are, a beautiful breath of fresh air!
“He’s not cool” Wow. I kinda feel like Roger was judged. Poor buddy. He can’t change. Also honestly, don’t get a venomous snake UNLESS you have training. Also I wonder if the guy is watching this.
It's about 9pm in my country, but I'm going to watch the video before bed. It's so heartwarming remembering all the facility updates and now seeing all the new additions, I really like it. Also, the little thoughts of the animals are absolutely amazing, they're making the videos more entertaining and relatable.
I love how nice and respect you guys are! Like there are so many people in this world who aren’t nice and you guys are out here being so nice love it❤️❤️
Lavenders are so pretty! My dream snake is a lavender hog 💜 i want to come up to snake discovery and see Rex in real life! I love your channel and every video brings so many people joy keep doing what you’re doing!
That story is just amazing. So many great people in the snake community! Going to be looking forward to seeing some lavender cobra babies! You need to name one of the little ones Serpentor- so that you have... THE COBRA EMPEROR!
I LOVE this!!!! These are the types of good things that should happen to amazing people 💜💜 Plus the fact that you all are awesome enough to tell Chloe that she can have one of the babies! It so worked out amazingly. Congratulations not only to Snake Discovery, but also Kai and Chloe!
Just what I needed after a rough day….a snake discovery video! You guys have truly changed my knowledge about reptiles ,crocodilians etc. and macaws ,(always been a bird lover)completely although I was always interested…I have learned a ton from you guys and am now the proud owner of a ball python named Kaa! I love the false water cobras! So beautiful 😍
i found this channel when i had COVID fatigue. and am i glad not only did it keep me sane at that stage I had a corn snake i still was interested in reptiles but I lost interest. 😢a fellow Emily's enthusiasm has relit that flame i now have a 11 month old ball python (male hypo, lemonblast, YB) thanks to both Emily and Ed 🐍 for not only re getting me into the hoby and making such amazing videos which always make my day. but now i want a hognose i wish my parents would let me😁 (sry this is soooo long)
I just got a new baby corn snake. My tiniest snake ever. My ball python was about 3 or 4 months when I got her and my kingsnake was also. They're soo ridiculously tiny as babies!
They are all so pretty! I remember the first time you showed Roger on the channel! He was still a little dude! It is so exciting that y'all were able to produce them and finally get a lavender!
The rear-fanged for poikilothermic prey thing really piqued my curiosity, so I went and checked out the spiciest rear-fanged friend I can think of, the boomslang, and even those big green beauties with their horrifyingly potent venom eat a not insignificant amount of lizards. Might just be on to something, definitely worthy of a lot more research. Edit: the other two potentially deadly colubrid groups, the twig snakes of Africa and a few of the keelback snakes of genus Rhabdophis, are also lizard, frog and toad eaters, with Rhabdophis tigrinus also doing the sequestered toad venom thing that hogs do!
It's so sad that they look brown in the videos but their cute purple tongue shows so well! Can't wait until you get lavender babies, you always sound so excited to get them!
Wow! Kai's colouration registers so much better on camera than the Lavender hogs do! FWCs have to be my dream snake, they are just so beautiful, and when they are as friendly as Roger you can absolutely imagine being able to live with your snake, rather than they inhabit a space in your home. But we are a ways from keeping any snakes right now, it's enough with two dogs now that my husband also has a chronic fatigue illness from Covid. Please take every precaution friends, if you aren't already, long covid is a devastating, life-stealing condition, and we need all the world's herpers to stay as healthy as they can! Love and best wishes to all who already life with debilitating illness and disabilities, you achieve wonders every day
Super interesting tour! Loved how personalized it was, and the new rack was beautiful with the customization. What a great company we got to see the behind the scenes of!
Seeing Rodger laying in your arm like he's a little sleepy baby is so cute. His previous owner really wasn't the smartes person giving him away, false water cobras definitely are cool as heck!
It's amazing seeing them all grow. Everything is bigger and amazing, I'm so happy for everyone over at Snake Discovery and to more years with the best content on RUclips ❤️ also one of the best community's
Hii I love your vids I started watching them a few days ago my friend recommended you guys to me they got 2 new snakes and I became interested in them too I hope to learn more from you guys and Emily I hope your nose feels better soon.
Oh Emily absolutely love you so much passion about all her babies (snakes) and of course so are you Ed but Emilys face watching you with snakes makes me smile xxxxxx oh and congrats on your new lavender false water cobra he is gorgeous xxxxx
He so cute idk why someone would say Roger isn’t cool I pretty sure all snakes are cool and cute personally I love snakes I don’t have one as a pet but I still don’t understand why people are so scared if anything the snakes are more afraid of you but I love snakes ❤️❤️
I heard that some snakes like watching TV. I think it’s due to seeing the light and heat from the screen. It would be fun to see if any of the Snake Discovery snakes would be hypnotised by it.
If you want a name for Mr. Rogers's son, you could go with Mr. Dressup. Mr. Dressup, aka Ernie Coombs, was the Canadian version of Mr. Rodgers, and was Mr. Rodgers understudy.
I learned so much about snakes from you i watch you for 2 years i never got a snake or any type of reptile and that lavender water cobra is my 2nd fav snake now my 1st is lavender conda Hognose their so cute with the shovle nose
Are you going to try and find a lavender female? Maybe you could match a paint sample to the lavender snakes and then everyone can look up the color card
I absolutely love falsies and especially the lavenders. One of my dream snakes, though I doubt I will come across one anytime soon and I'm not sure I'll get more snakes
Hearing how they got Rodger, I'm glad they didn't tell that guy where they would get a actual cobra. People like that shouldn't have pets, they are animals; living beings, not decorations or toys. Poor Roger "Wasn't cool enough", absolute nonsense! He is a beautiful friendly specimen, so happy he has a home that appreciates him like he deserves.
I looooooove false water cobras! They are probably my favorite species of snake. I have a young couple that I look forward to breeding as soon as they are big enough!
A few questions for you guys! How many snakes do you have? How many turtles do you have? How many frogs do you have? Who is the oldest snake you have? Who is the biggest snake you have? Are they the biggest reptile in your zoo? (Sad question) Have any snakes 💀in the zoo? Please like this comment so they see it!
I loved the way Emily talked about Rodger as though he was her firstborn child. “Lemme show you his baby pictures. Oop, that is his sister, but aww she was so cute.” Very adorable.
😂
Emily holding Roger like he's a stuffed animal is giving me life right now
He's absolutely precious! Never thought I'd see someone hug a snake, I didn't think it was possible because they're so noodley!
That snake is so chill. He just lets her manhandle him.
Definitely
It's incredible, and also it's a testament to the trust bond they also have together, cause he'd not let either Emily or Ed hold him like that, if he didn't trust them. ❤️ 🐍
honestly i would love a false water cobra stuffed animal
Oh this is fantastic seeing new all these new additions. To think we all started viewing when Ed was just an urban myth in your kitchen and now all these beautiful reptiles are educating so many 🫶🫶🫶🫶
"Urban myth" XD best comment here
It’s been so cool to see Ed’s confidence grow from behind the camera to in front over the last few years!
Yep😊
I remember those days. They have come so far in those years.
Urban myth 😂 love it😂
To Chloe (Kai’s former owner), thank you for sharing your beautiful snake with Snake Discovery and us! He looks amazing and incredibly healthy, so you must’ve been a wonderful owner and I can’t wait for the updates on him (and I hope you get a baby at some point!). Also, best wishes for college and the new chapter!! 💜
Emily: "They are smart snakes"
Also Emily: "Please don't eat yourself"
Mhm totally smart
Underrated comment 👍
Thats just how smart snakes are in general😅 Food mode is no joke
Makes me think of when the mother AND the father of some baby snakes musked on Emily's hand and she said she had to wash her hands (the second time it happened, she added "again.") :)
And Jessica didn't! See? Smarter than a king snake lol
I loved seeing the earlier photos of Roger and Rex. Could you please do a video comparing some of your animals when they were babies to now?
YEAH!😀
As cool as it is to see, and despite being like a "baby" to them (she was definitely smaller and has grown a fair bit in the interim), Rex was actually in her mid-20's in that pic! Her original "owner", if you can call him that, kept her in a tiny wooden box for [iirc] ~27 years.
Yessssss
i do remember watching a video on rex comparing when they first got her to a few years after but it was a while ago
That would be awesome. Just the couple of glimpses of little rex was adorable. It would also be cool to see young Shyan? too
I think all of the false water cobras have really Sweet temperament. Saying that, Roger is just so cuddly it makes you want to take him into the house and watch TV with him.
Lol what if you watch Snake discovery lol
Roger: Oh look, it's me on the tv!
I love how Jessica tried to be angry for about 3 seconds and then gave up
Should see Tyler Nolan’s that try’s to bite carpet
Emily said in a another video she actually used to do this when she had the snakes at her house. 😂😂😂
😮
Wow. Rodger really is a tamed snake. He didn't wiggle out when emily's hugging him. That's so cool!
He was just like “Yeah, dis is mai mommy.”
There’s no ‘d’ in his name, stupid waste of space
Comparing snakes, yay lavenders! Emily just sat there with the biggest goffiest smile on her face looking like she's holding a baby human about to give it so many hugs and kisses

Honesty hearing you guys making everything sure with Chloe and saying when she can, she'll get one of his babies was so wholesome

Ikr? He is adorable. I kept going back to him during grand opening and I got to pet him and he was soooo smooth
I’m jealous of you guys. I live in Texas so prob will never happen for me 😔
I always love seeing Emily and Ed with snakes they've had for many years and just how docile/chill they are. Large snakes make me nervous but Doug would just be fun to hold and hang around because he acts like he'd see me as "made of warm", not as a meal.

Same too. I started watching this channel to help get over my fear of snakes......I love seeing them more but still scared to touch them.....but imporvement?.....I love how they go so swoony over the babies! They are cute.
Love the little captions! Am I the only one who has to replay them on slow to actually read them? 😂
@@wildflower1397 I do that
A lavender False Water Cobra is one of my ultimate, pie-in-the-sky, dream reptiles. So excited that you guys have one!
Hey Emily and Ed, I was wondering if you could do a video about your 2022 breeding holdbacks? Love you guys❤
I guess the universe blessed you for bringing more false water cobras to the hobby. 💚 So happy you guys got your dream snake! Can't wait for the day Emily gets her hyacinth macaw!

I loved looking through the "way back machine" of Emily's phone pics :) And Roger as a little noodle... aww.
I do love Emily's enthsiasm and special 'baby voice' when she's talking to her babies. It shows true love 🙂
Watching Emily scroll through old, (and older) photos made me think it might be a fun thing to see a montage retrospective. You know, captions, "In My Life" background music, soft focus, the whole bit .. no voicing needed, just old snapshots. Anyone else?
That would be cool.
One of the best educational RUclips channels. Emily’s excitement is so infectious I love it.
I’ve learned everything I know about snakes from you guys. After watching your videos for years, I felt I was prepared enough to get my first snake. I love that he's a surrender. Cool of Chloe to do so, and cool of y'all to offer her one of his bbs
1:59 I heard "but they're not truly venomous like *cucumbers* are"
I gotta say, Roger looks like a cuddle-bug,. I am in love. Also Emily and Ed baby talking the adult snakes always makes me smile.
Thanks for doing what is best for him, Chloe! ♥ Good luck in college!
Going through the phone for baby snake photos is such a mood.
Lavender snakes are always adorable!!
Yes I agree
I get a contact high from watching happy Emily!
Plus the way she was cuddling Roger was everything!
Can't wait to see how this journey progresses!
“He’s not cool” Wow. I kinda feel like Roger was judged. Poor buddy. He can’t change. Also honestly, don’t get a venomous snake UNLESS you have training. Also I wonder if the guy is watching this.
thank you so much for telling that person asking for cobras "NO" for too many reasons i'm sure you both know very well
It's about 9pm in my country, but I'm going to watch the video before bed. It's so heartwarming remembering all the facility updates and now seeing all the new additions, I really like it.
Also, the little thoughts of the animals are absolutely amazing, they're making the videos more entertaining and relatable.
Ok can we talk about how cute little red was? Seeing Rex in the Santa costume was SO CUTE
i love false water cobras so much! sadly they're pretty much nonexistent here so i can only dream
I am truly sorry for the loss of your brother.
I love seeing Ed so involved!! Emily is AMAZING and Ed makes it that much better!!
Omg so excited! Love the lavender hogs and false water cobra lavender is stunning ❤️

The coloring of those babies is gorgeous! I’d keep them both for sure. Video idea: Baby pics vs current pics of your reptiles. 🐍❤️🐍
I've been watching the channel for about 4 years, and I remember Emily always saying how she wanted a lavender! Excited you finally got one!
That lavender snake is absolutely beautiful!
Im so happy for you guys. He’s sooo pretty and he will be the perfect addition to the Snake Discovery family. I LOVE HIM 😍
What a weird, wacky coincidence this guy's story is!! Thanks, Chloe! You were... scarily convenient. Or, Emily and Ed: join the lottery 😂
I’ve been watching for years and I remember when Emily first mentioned she wanted this snake, o know o don’t know y’all but I’m happy for you!!

I heard that some snakes like watching TV. I think it’s due to seeing the light and heat from the screen. It would be fun to see if any of the Snake Discovery snakes would be hypnotised by it.
My corn has watched me play video games before
That would be interesting & easy to test out. I know for awhile my cat enjoyed watching birds on my phone while I used my tablet.
7:22 - I really like the golden color around their heads and necks!
Emily no matter what bumps and bruises you have you will always be beautiful to us.
Gosh I love falsies so much! One of my favorite species. I have a pair lavender+phet lavender, and the lavender still has those spots on her belly.
Emily loves lavender reptiles as much as Clint loves emerald reptiles.
aw Rex was so tiny at that time and grown so much. Also love the story about Kai. Awesome timing how it happened to be. :)
Roger was a cute little handful.🥰 Amazing luck to get a surrendered lavender cobra when you were ready for one.

I just love youtubes timing. "This is a lave..." *cuts to ad*
