  • While on our cruise, we tried finding as many animals as possible at the ports the boat stopped at! We didn't find as many reptiles as we would've liked, but we sure did find some other neat species!

I would've given it a ten foot berth and not even touched it. Spiders are the reason I can't do tropical areas.

Cane spider is what I know those big spiders as (the one at 2:30) and they are fast! Also, incredibly scary when they just appear near the ceiling on a wall in your house at after-dark-o'clock.

I went to Costa Rica a few months ago! Some animals I could identify were:
    Green iguana
    Spinytail iguana
    White throated Magpie jay
Great tailed grackle (I saw a baby!)
    Capuchin monkey
Mantled Howler monkey (almost dropped a mango on my head)
    Unknown jumping spider species
    Variegated squirrel
    Moon jelly
    Hermit crab
    Unknown crab species
    Unknown sea slugs
    Morning geckos (possibly)
Raccoons! (They were in the restaurant!!)
    Unknown Seahorse
    Paper wasp
    Central America amieva
    Blue morpho
    Unknown butterflies
    Sandpiper
    Little blue heron
    Unknown small yellow birds

Green iguanas are native to Costa Rica. In the Caribbean, they were mostly introduced, but there is the possibility of them being carried by storms on rafts, not the man-made kind. Especially from 1 introduced island to others where humans did not bring them.
They are a species that are very good survivors.

Definitely looks like an old abandoned military battery! Very familiar with the one near the camping grounds we like, Battery Russel- it's along the bike trail there so we always hang out and picnic over there. I'd never seen another though so it was weird seeing this one! All concrete and random holes, including the giant gun turret hole.
We used to think it would be AWESOME for laser tag in the dark... but the random holes in the ground make that a liiiiittle too dangerous 😂 Petition to modify old military batteries to be safe for laser tag!

2- All my life I´ve seen those spiders and didn´t know they were Jumping Spiders.

Just advice leave resting places be... I've heard creepy stories and well it's one thing to want to do it and another to experience it. One of the houses I stayed at in Midwest just has a feel that and mixed with "this is an old home" it's like a horror movie. Normally I wonder at night to grab water or whatever...that night I didn't I stayed in bed wishing for sleep to come. Why? It took one night for me to fully understand why everyone crashed out at night. My partner was asleep, no one else around yet heavy military boots sounded behind me but there was nothing. No I did not look in the mirror I acted normal, but uh there is a rule and that is don't acknowledge the presence of something just act normal.
Some people have it really bad to where people get hurt, but yeah it might sound fun until you potentially upset something o.o if one does just be very respectful. Some places are not playgrounds.

I know you don't want the money people give to snake discovery to be misused and you are just looking out for others but you must remember that Emily and Ed want what is best for this chanal and its fans just like you! @@user-wy1it2vm3b Some you-tubers use their funds from RUclips and Patrion irresponsibly or in ways that don't benefit their fans, but snake discovery is not one of them. They use a lot of the money they earn to take care of their reptiles, keep up and even improve the zoo/retail center, adopt out reptiles through adoption island that had no other hope for a new life, and even do some cool pin give-aways at reptile events! I know you don't want the money people give to snake discovery to be misused and you are just looking out for others but you must remember that Emily and Ed want what is best for this chanal and its fans just like you! One last thing to keep in mind is that everyone giving money to snake discovery is doing so under their own terms and completely consensually so if they didn't like what was happening they would stop if they wanted to! I hope this puts into perspective how much snake discovery cares about its wonderful fans like you :)
