I've got this truck with a 6 inch lift and it's exactly the same quality. I love it. Not ridiculous at all.
Exactly what I'm doing to my limited 1500 longhorn edition 2022. What a luxury beast!! 😍
Did you get this done Jonathan? I’m looking for someone that actually uses their truck and this lift for offroad. To see if it’s durable and withstands going offroad.
It’s 3:18am…. there is one here very similar to this and I really like both!
As a ram owner with tow mirrors..... I'm embarrassed to be a ram owner every time I see another ram with the mirrors out when not towing 🤮
Nice review though, I've been curious how a lift on top of air bags would go, nice looking truck too
I drive with mine down but I have to admit, you can see a whole lot better with them up than down.
I don't get why guys flip up the tow mirrors with no trailer. Makes the truck look like a special Ed moose
Honestly I always made fun of it myself until I drove with them both ways. It’s hard to see about anything with them down. Blind spots are basically everywhere. With them up, you can see absolutely everything perfectly. The tow mirrors are meant to be up it feels like. Chevy and Ford tow mirrors are always up, so I guess it makes sense.
😂...Good one.
Cuz eff you thats why
You can see a whole lot better with them up.
You see better with them…
Your Ram 1500 reviews are the best. Thanks.
I am glad to hear that you can put a lift on these trucks with the air suspension. I just bought a 2022 ram 1500 limited with the air ride suspension and I would like to put a little bit more height on the truck watching this video makes me feel a lot better because I looked online everywhere and it seems like everyone says you cannot do it.
Larger tires than stock make the speedo read lower than actual speed. Less rotations per mile with larger tire.
Correct. I was wondering if I was hearing him wrong.
The truck looks best when it was at entry height mode. About a 2 inch lift over stock with that size tire.
Outstanding comprehensive review
Great review as always. But larger tires make the speedometer slower.
Love Sam's truck. You don't see many Limiteds lifted due to the air suspension, but BDS and Carli makes some of the best quality lifts for those. Those big 35s with air suspension probably make for one smooth ride!
Just did the BDS to my 2021 Limited, amazing ride quality and stance
Ya don't see many lifted limited because why? Its a look at me I have money truck, when I've lifted vehicles it's because I actually take em off road and get em dirty, I don't think that's happening here, so worse gas mileage, higher clearance, and literally no real reason for it. I mean I get it, it looks nice, but as I said, purely a look at me look at me kinda thing imo.
@@sbreen3How much does something like that cost? Looking at new trucks right now, can't decide what trim. Thanks.
@@williamlott9066 depends on your tire selection, tire trade ins?, and mechanic but ~4K. BDS kit w fox is about $2,900 on its own. Hope that helps.
Just bought a ‘23 limited and was told they couldn’t be lifted so now I’m here….
I sold my 2021 air ride cause i wanted to go higher on my 1500 22 has a 10inch fts lift kit on 40s!
Nice review - thank you!
Funny how the mirrors get to people so much. I tow like 3 times out of the week and sometimes I forget to put the mirrors down. Don’t see the big problem. 😂
😂 True. Men nitpick every detail of another man's way of doing things. Keep on trucking man🤘🇺🇸
The normal ride height looks way better. That's a great looking stance.
I just got my Ram Limited Longhorn and thinking about lifting it. Will it void the warranty? Also, how much does this setup cost?
Would like to know as well.
Hey Ben which truck rides better, gen 3 raptor or a stock ram 1500 limited?
That interior is so sick.
Awesome video! making my decision on the BDS lift. Just wanted to know where can I get those aftermarket brackets for the Tonneau cover to fit the multifunction tailgate?
Hi Ben I just started watching your videos you do a excellent job on your reviews, always basically a good word for the vehicle’s you do never slamming anything just giving your honest opinion so good job and that Ram what a beautiful truck but I went with a Titan and just love it. Thanks for the videos Ben so informative
Great info. The ram limited lifted is best setup out.
Hi, how was the gas mileage affected after the lift / 35s?
Sam I like what you did your truck that's a awesome truck love it
That’s beautiful.
You said there isn't any negatives but unless you have a Ram dealer install it and they are willing to warranty it you could be messing with your warranty. If you ever had problems with the 4x4 system, suspension system or transmission then you could be screwed.
very nice Ben
What setup is this?
How to get that “10th anniversary” welcome screen to show? I have my Limited 2022 is 10th anniversary but the welcome screen shows “Limited” when starting up!!
Can u still use 4 wheel auto and 4 wheel lock? I heard some lift kits advise you not to use 4 wheel auto when lifted.
It damages or wears parts faster
Unless I’m mistaken
The wheels look like the stock 22" rims that came on my 2019 limited.
It is a really pretty lifted 4x4 Cadillac. Because this is 4inch what did it do to your warranty? Because that's the perfect amount of lift.
BDS lifts do not effect the factory warranty
@@steveshelpman4239 thought that was up to 2 inches?
Drinking game: take a shot everytime he says "pop".
Will it fit through a 7 foot garage door?
Does this kit work with the 2024?
2022 Ram 1500 Limited Hemi eTorque 10th Anniversary Edition Crew Cab 4X4!
Beautiful truck!
What exact BDS kit is that??
Thats the same one from a previous video awesome
How’s the air suspension in the cold winter? I hear people having problems in Canadian winter.
Owned my 20' limited for 2 winters now and zero issues and temps have reached single digits to about 3 below a couple times. Not 1 prob so far, knock on wood! I'm in the northeast but def not a Canadian winter.
Telsa molded 3 Long
Soooooo good looking!❤️👍
Time to dig into the good ol’ retirement fund and lift the big horn👀😆
@@BenHardyCars 😂😂😂💰💰💰
Amazing and beautiful truck,I like it 💪👍🎸🎸🎸🔥
Do you know the offset of the wheels?
Where does one get the speedo and steering wheel recalibration?
What bed cover is that? And where to get those brackets. Don't really understand why some bed covers won't fit the multi tailgate.. ??
I got the brackets from rightonbracket’s website. Go to the menu in the corner, click specialty products and you’ll see ‘Ram Brackets’ right there. I bought them and the dealer installed them for me. They were excited to know there’s a solution. The tonneau cover is just a Mopar brand tri-fold cover. Super nice. Absolutely love the setup and couldn’t be happier!
Just ordered close to the same truck, except added the off-road package, which wish came with 35s. They don’t mention any issue with cover not fitting the MFT.
@@ValkyrieIA congrats! You’ll love it. Does yours have the Rambox’s? If so, you won’t run into the bed cover issue. If it doesn’t, that’s where the brackets come in to play and cause the issue. But at least we found a way to fix it!
Sam, It will have the Ram Boxes. Deciding between Bak mx4, F1 or an Extang. Wasn’t aware the MFT might cause an issue. First pickup and not familiar with them. Lot of choice and limited reviews. Coming from Jeep Unlimited -lifted with 35’s. Your setup looks great with those.
Ps- thanks for the quick response. Really appreciated.
That have HUD too?
Do you know if he can go into parking garages with this lift? I'm tempted to do this but don't want to risk my parking privileges
Definitely can. Especially since you can lower the air suspension down which lowers the whole truck. I haven’t had any problems.
@@skmadsen1010 Hi Sam can you answer a question for me? I reached out to BDS an they said they currently do not offer a 4 inch air ride lift for the 2022 ram 1500 limited. how did you get it done?
@@johnstougard8882 I guess they haven’t technically changed the status on their site to show it fits for 2022’s but Ram didn’t change anything for ‘22, so anything that fits a ‘21 will fit the ‘22 as well, even if it’s not updated on their system. The shop I bought mine from knew that and didn’t even question whether it would fit or not. And it fits with no issues!
Why the steering wheel needs to be adjusted?
You always need to adjust the tracking after fitting a lift kit. Surprised they didn't do it when it was installed
Your speedo is actually showing a slower speed then what youre actually traveling. Say speedo says 72mph, you actually gking 78ish mph. I have this exact setup but on 20" rims on my 2021 ram limited.
Shocking to know Ram is only 10 years old, hence the 10th anniversary.
Ram limited edition you clown
THe Limited was 10 years old...
My guy driving around sandy UT ahhah
Did you have to lift it in order to get 35's on this truck?
My last one was just leveled and they fit as well. I was impressed how easy it was to get 35’s on here. The last one did take more trimming though.
@@skmadsen1010 what BDS kit was used here?
@@sbreen3 BDS 4” Lift Kit
What is the offset of the wheels on this? That’s a perfect stance.
-12 or -19 offset it looks like
@@craig4926 well which is it those are miles apart bro smh
@@TENNESSEETRACKHAWK not really. i have had both offsets and you can barely tell. theres maybe a 1/4 inch or less difference to how much tire pokes out of the wheel well
@@craig4926 thats not too bad then thanx
Got a link for this lift kit?
I have a 2022 Limited Longhorn with the factory air suspension. I am interested in doing a 2 inch lift, but only by utilizing airbag spacers. I cannot seem to find enough information online about doing this, would anyone like to chime in whether this is a valid direction to go or not? Thanks!
I own a 2020 Limited w/air suspension and the 4" bds kit,the same as in thus video, is the smallest I've found searching the internet for 2 yrs. I currently just have the rough country level kit. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy this bds 4" kit soon though, I thought 4" might be to much but this video shows it to be perfect! GL to you.
@@mongolikechewchew2475 Great, thank you!
What are the brand of mirrors called that are on this ram. We are getting one and need to put towing mirrors on.
It’s just the towing mirrors ordered that way from the factory. They’re not very expensive at up to upgrade to.
Is always having titles in the form of a question irritating?
What size tires and wheels?
22” Fuel Wheels. 35” Ridge Grappler tires
What lift kit is this?
Bds
What is the mpg after?
14
What did the lift cost, excluding wheels/tires?
$2,700-$2,900 depending on the shocks you pick
@@sbreen3 Thank you sir
How or who does the recalibration for the speedometer?
Tazer DT from ZAutomotive allows you to do it as well as mess around with several other hidden menu options.
I had the ram dealer do my speedo calibration, the aftermarket calibrators won't work if it has park assist from what I found looking for one.
@@chrisriddle4011 nice. The Tazer DT worked for me so far.
Apparently it doesn't work on the 2022 models as it knocks out the parking sensors or the sat nav. Still looking for a solution
@@landofnor, so 6" lift my be too high huh?
Can you send me a parts list?
Should of used Google maps to see speed differences
@Sam Madsen I’d love to pick your offline if you have 10 minutes.
I would lift the suspension parts are made from fiat no more owned by ram so every thing is fragiley cause parts are from italy
Does that have 3.92 or 3.21 rear gear
3.92
@@skmadsen1010 Hi Sam. How much of a gas milage hit did this set up cost? 4mpg?
@@landofnor it’s hard to say because I had this done after only having it for about a week and a half. And the first few hundred miles are usually poor MPG because you’re breaking the engine in. So I’m not positive. I get about 13mpg though. That’s with pretty mixed city and highway driving.
@@skmadsen1010 ok thanks. It's over $7 a gallon here so just preparing my self lol... Still, better than a TRX haha
@@skmadsen1010 What is the offset of those wheels?
I dont see the point. Why not get a laramie with shocks. Or rebel.
This is taller and looks better
@@BenHardyCars what im saying is why get a truck with air suspension if u gone lift it. Limited is luxury, rebel is off road
@@jarvisaustin6955 can mod this enough to have decent off road and you get a much nicer interior.
It’s subjective. Better headlights on my Limited (Longhorn) over my old Laramie or Rebel for sure - I prefer to tint the full windshield also so it does help at night. Better interior & preferred interior package options available. Ventilated rear seats. Maybe a couple other small things I’m missing but that’s about it.
Sam won't have does mirror's for long sticking out there like that .
It’s obviously gonna get better fuel economy than the TRX, it doesn’t have the supercharger nor does it have the 6.2L engine. 🙄 duh
So how is the warranty affected?
Not affected at all. Especially with it being done by the dealer themselves.
@@skmadsen1010 I've talked with two dealers in Texas and both of them won't put the lift on for some reason. I guess I just need to find a different dealer.
@@lancel78 that’s strange! I would call around to places that do tires and lifts. Also try talking to someone in the parts department specifically at the dealer. That’s what I did.
I can’t find a dealership in my area that will do anything more than a 2” without voiding the warranty. What dealership did you use. I might ship my 22 there.
@@SeanAlfonso that really surprises me. I used Larry H. Miller Ram in Sandy, Utah. It’s where I bought my truck too. Second one I’ve bought from them. They’re super honest, gave me top dollar for my last truck I traded in and even discounted my new one which doesn’t happen anywhere in this market. Their service department did the install and didn’t have a problem. Doesn’t void the warranty and BDS even adds their own warranty for extra protection. I couldn’t be happier. They’re the number one Ram dealer in Utah for a reason. 10/10 recommend.
Does Sam have a company with web site?
I don’t but I’d be happy to post links for whatever you were wanting to check out! Let me know.
@@skmadsen1010 OK Sam, links for the RAM air suspension lift, please! Do you install as a service, by chance? Haven't bought the truck yet.
@@CrumResearch I had the Ram dealer install it after I bought it. They did an excellent job. BDS says it for Ram 1500 with air suspension years 2019-2021 but it works with the 2022’s as well. Mine didn’t have a problem. 10/10 recommend and will do it again.
Sam, how's ride quality w the 4" lift?
@@stevec1660 I can’t tell a difference between lifted and when it was stock. It’s so smooth!
