How to Install: • 2020 Ram 1500 Air Ride...
Built on BDS's tried and true high clearance design these kits correct steering, suspension and driveline geometry for on road comfort, handling and safety. These systems have been engineered and tested to retain full functionality of the factory air ride system allowing you to adjust ride height through the various modes. Up front this 4" system includes a pair of high clearance laser cut crossmembers along with a 3-point differential relocation system and differential skid plate to create a stout subframe for the suspension components to be installed. New ductile iron CNC machined steering knuckles are supplied along with heavy duty tie rod ends to keep allow for ESC system compatibility. Top mounted strut spacers are supplied to allow the use of the air ride front air bag struts along with all the necessary air-line fittings. A billet aluminum driveshaft spacers is supplied to lengthen the factory front driveline along with brake line brackets, sway bar link extensions and all the necessary hardware to complete the install.
The rear of the air-ride equipped RAM 1500 mimics the standard RAM 1500 with the exception of adjustable height rear air bags. The additional ride height comes from a pair of 3" top mounted air bag spacers to lift and level the stance. New air lines and fittings are supplied to along with ride height sensor brackets to maintain propoer positioning and functionality of the factory air ride system at the new height. BDS supplies rear upper control arm relocation brackets to correct the geometry at the taller ride height. A track bar correction bracket is supplied to recenter the rear axle along with new extended length sway bar links to improve stability on and off-road. Rounding out the rear of these air ride kits are brake line relocation brackets, bump stop extensions and your choice of either BDS NX2 gas or upgrade FOX 2.0 performance series gas shocks. This new 4" lift kit corrects the suspension geometry and allow for full use of the ride height adjustability in the various modes to with the base lift set at 4" over. SOOO glad to hear this is backed up by warranty that WON'T bust the original Chrysler/Ram warranty! Totally sold on what I see... I've only heard positive out of others on this particular kit!! Didn't know that you needed the hubcentric wheel spacer though and since I have the '21 Rebel with 18's that should have been commented. Thank you though for the vid, looking forward to this!

Sold on the BDS - have only heard great things! You mentioned the wheels featured in the video are 18 inch? When I zoom in on the tire size, they are R20? By the way - certainly best looking combo wheel with the fuel rebel! Best looking truck.
Woulda been good to show heights at different settings. Trying to decide between this or level for air ride. I prefer to be as low as possible on the highway. Considering theses things stuff 35s stock, at least in a straight line, I’m looking for best of both worlds.

While we don't anticipate any changes for the 2019-2021 to the 2022 RAM 1500 models with Air Ride, at this point we haven't test-fit this 4" kit on the 2022 RAM 1500 Air Ride models to officially confirm compatibility. How much weight are you adding with all these heavy duty components? The limited is already over 500 pounds heavier than the Laramie…

I just pulled the trigger on this kit and am excited to have it installed. I was wondering if I can use the stock 22 rims with 33/12.5/22 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires that I’m currently running. I purchased the large bore knuckles as instructed.
The wheels are a little positive on the offset so they tuck a little but with wheel spacers it would look dope. As far as fitting yes they do for sure.
@@xGR1MxREAPERx you seem to know about fitment will a 26x14 wheel fit on 35 size tires or the rim will have a -76 offset or what is the correct offset to have so it doesn’t rub or get the best fitment
@@JAY-R21 I don’t know anything about those ridiculous wheel setups.. 22 or under otherwise it’s a show truck that gets trailer to events. That big of wheels rides like shit and with a tire that fits on the truck it runs or throws shit all over the side of the truck. That shit is ugly anyways.. 22” wheel and a 35” tire look perfect.
I just had this lift installed at one of your authorize dealers. I noticed a couple of things that I'm not sure it's normal after the truck is lifted. Can you advice if your experience similar things or provide your opinion on it.
1. I noticed the airbags working a lot harder trying to level the truck out to the point that the pressure is release through the release valve.
2. I noticed that that when my truck sits for a while or over night, the truck adjust/lower about 2 inches from regular mode.

This is a late reply but I have a 2018 ram and mine lowers after sitting for a bit. Sometimes as quickly as a few minutes after turning it off. Safe to say, that’s normal and has nothing to do with the lift kit.
I have a 2021 limited Eco Diesel with air ride and the stupid thermal rear axel. I am being told because of the axel your 4" air ride kit will not work. Is that correct?
Hey Jack, your truck has 2 variables we don't offer a full 4" lift option for currently, the ecodiesel and the rear thermal axle. Sorry but at this time we don't offer a solution for your setup
Do the park sensors still work with that lift kit?

As of today we haven't approved compatibility on 2022 RAM 1500 Air Ride models and have not approved our kits for use on the EcoDiesel equipped models due to a factory front driveline limitations

Hey Todd, congrats on the new truck, hopefully delivery isn't delayed. On the kit, we have pricing on our website as well as the ability to customize features, check out bds-suspension.com/product?kid=1697H. We haven't officially listed compatibility wit the 2022 models yet pending test fit to validate, but that should be happening soon. As for the labor cost, that will depend on the labor rate of your local shop. It's estimated at a 10+ hr install for the air ride models.

So my biggest question is does the air ride still work because I’ve looked every ware for a lift for mine and some say the air ride wount go up and down pretty much with the lift it wount work
Our System works with the air ride to raise and lower itself. Each setting will sit 4" taller due to the lift but each setting will still function as it should.
Can we use this lift kit with the stock rims/tires?
stock 20" wheel/tire combo can be reinstalled with the lift. Stock 18s require wheel spacers to clear the steering
Does anyone know if this kit is a level kit as well? 2021 ram 1500 sport.
It will lift and level the truck, that’s why the front and back have different measurements

@@bdssuspension yeah I talked to a couple of your “dealers” who want $2000+ to install a lift that takes 6-7 hours to install.. no way lol.. 😂🤣. That’s insane. Any other normal shop charges around 800-1000 to install a lift kit
@@xGR1MxREAPERx The air ride version is a bit more challenging/time consuming install than the standard RAM 1500 kits, we list it as an estimated 10hr install and a 5of5 difficulty and in some cases requires a trip to the dealer to reflash the truck. @@bdssuspension the ram dealer near me quoted $891 for labor with an alignment t for install. They have done a couple, you should check in with your “recommended “ dealers and make sure they arnt charging people almsot 3 times as much to install the same product they are supposed to be the best at installing, that is embarrassing.

Although, they don’t expect any changes from 2021. They’re still working on test-fitting them on our 2022 1500 air suspension. I have a 2022 1500 limited red edition. I’ve been waiting for it too.

short answer no, but in offroad mode this 4" kit has a ride height similar to a 6" lift. Our IFS kits for the RAM 1500 are designed to correct the suspension-steering-driveline geometry at 4-6" of lift. Our 4" kit allows full range of ride height adjustability in all modes.

correct, our lift kit retains full functionality of the air suspension modes, you'll just be 4" taller in each of the modes than when the truck was stock going through the modes

We have not had a 2023 come into our R&D center yet and cannot verify at the moment. Can't imagine it would be any different however we would need to verify before giving a definitive answer on that.
Why does the 3.5 look higher than the 4
the air ride RAM trucks have adjustable suspension modes so ride height can be adjusted between about 2.5-6" of lift depending on the mode. Also wheel/tire choice can give you an optical illusion of lower/taller stance.
Do does it ride compared to stock? I bought a 22’ rebel and lifted it with the fab tech 3.5” kit and it rides very rough, it’s about the equivalent of a radio flyer wagon. I plan to get a limited here in a few months and want this kit but I also want a soft smooth ride.

I hate the air ride on my 2019 RAM 1500 if I had known it had it I probably wouldn't of bought it.
My wife has 6" BDS on her F150. Having issues with it and contact BDS 3 times and havent once recieved any response. In my experience they have total sh!t customer service. I would never consider them for my RAM.
I’ve had BDS on my previous Ram longhorn with air ride and I had no major issues, even when I had a small air bag leak bds sent out new fittings with no questions ask…there customer service is probably one of the best I’ve had experience with.
