Nothing in video makes since. I’m from Texas and retired to Ecuador in 2022. Being from Southeast Texas where it’s hot year round I was looking for cooler temps. Didn’t look anywhere on coastal area where you need a/c. I am still renting but bought property Northwest of Cuenca. I’m doing due diligence on building supplies and finding right Maestros. I bought 3 hectares and have plans to build a home that’s 160 sq. meters. I’ve fenced property and have area being cleared where I will build the home. I’m finding not to get in a rush because things happen at a different pace here. I’ve been pleasantly surprised at construction cost here. But I will say one thing this video doesn’t mention. Property takes more than 2 years to sell on average if you’re lucky. And never buy a home or property on internet sites. Get out and make friends with the Ecuadorian people. The locals will tell you these are Gringo prices. You will also learn everything is negotiable. I rent a small house about 60 sq meters2 bedroom, 2bath, and space to park two vehicles with electric slide gate for $275 a month. This is from a local. Not from internet site. Been here for two years and will be here until I finish my home. My water, electric and internet has never been higher than $75 a month. Landlord loves me because I repair what needs to be repaired. I bought a 12000 BTU mini split heat pump from vendor in Guayaquil for $450 and installed it. Never used the a/c but have used the heater quite a bit. If you want to own property you best learn how to maintain the property yourself. Buy a closet auger and basic tools. Believe me a backed up toilet happens frequently. The underground sewer in your home is undersized here.
Much appreciated! 🙌🏼 So far it’s my best edited video and I’m hoping to make more like it and maybe when I have something other than iMovie make even more edits lol I’m actually heavy editing a video right now tbh
@@GMAceM well keep going - you're doing great! and iMovie may not be the greatest editing platforms, but it's more about the creator...not so much the editing tools so whatever you're doing , it's working. :)
I would like to hear more about mortgages. Almost every other source I've seen makes it sound as if mortgages are very difficult to get, but she makes it sound otherwise. Does she have experience with this, and if so, can you do a follow up?
As a matter of fact she does have experience in this and we have been talking about doing some follow up videos, those are definitely in the works so stay tuned!
Thanks for this. I think new immigrants coming to Ecuador from Europe would be interested to know what options are available for buying in cash. They may be wanting to know where they can get an unencumbered CD which can be the offset to a mortgage.
Hello! Thanks for your question. I have contacted my friend to see what she says. When she gets back to me I’ll give you her answer. Thanks for watching!
I was waiting to get a response from my friend about the situation and she gave a big explanation but the summary is: it starts from 4.87 and then it starts to vary but the maximum it goes up to is 9%. Hope this helps!
I think maybe she changed the name of the IG which may have modified the link. Let me see if I can get you her email, please reply to this comment if you still need it.
Hi, Great topic, you're turning away people with the choice of music, I'm visiting your page, hoping for facts & more facts- you're off to a good start. The music is not appropriate for this topic. Stop moving your hands, you're like a DJ host. Focus on pictures of houses and show their prices while your girlfriend is explaining the facts. Not subscribing yet, for the above reasons, good luck...
Hey there! Appreciate your comment. As someone who’s pretty new to this still (only about a year of making videos) there’s still a lot to learn. In tons of groups new RUclipsrs we are always given advice to try to keep things interesting and one way has always been to include music, just to kinda have something in the background so it’s not just talking, a lot of people get kinda sleepy or distracted when it’s just a video of a person talking. That being said I appreciate the advice, I’m always learning and I have been trying to incorporate more pictures and text to focus on the visual elements a bit more, since I know that seeing things also helps keep the video engaging. Also she’s just a friend 😂 Thanks for watching!

How much is the interest rates in Ecuadorian banks if buyers choose to have a mortgage?
