E70 CIC owner here...did everything you explained.Thank you! Switched the optical and ran the aux wire to the center console. Sound is distorted and volume is low (not clear).
when the car have optical fiber cable, it need to move it to new harness, that is 100% to do it, nothing wrong, about the AUX connection, it also need to connect it, since the car is CIC, The sound distorted or volume is low, you can check the settings for it.

yes it support, you just go to android menu, click settings> camera selection, and choose "OEM camera", then will be fine.
Hi, my only frustration with your set up is the equaliser and sound settings are only are only accessible without any sound coming out of the speakers in the sub menu prior to entering android auto ( wired). I have a NBT system that I purchased 18 months ago. I noticed on the screen replacement solution with all the stuff built in this isn't the case? Is there a way around this? Am I able to ( pay if necessary) for the screen software, or has there been a firmware/software update since then that I have missed? Many thanks
Very good video sir. Very informative. I am struggling with my android head unit on my bmw e92 with ccc idrive. I did follow all the steps like connecting aux and moving fiber optic cable but the way I connected aux is I did Solder 2 aux cables together instead of connecting 2 aux cables (because i didnt have male and female endings to connect). I have no sound. Do you think its because i soldered aux instead of just connecting one end to another and then to aux port?
Since I don’t clear how you soldered it, but that might be a reason for the trouble; in normal situations, that is no need to modify the cables , when the car have original AUXILIARY, just connect the aux cable to it , then will be fine , maybe your car is special, or something that I don’t know. So, I don’t have good suggestions for you .

I have a 2010 BMW x5 with CIC. I've just installed a Android unit, but it looks like my OEM Aux port doesn't register I have a device plugged into it. My phone wont work through Aux either. is there another way to get sound. Does the Fiber cables do anything if the sound goes through Aux?
Any ideas where to look my my OEM Aux problem?

Your car , it need to move the optical fiber cable to new harness, also need to connect the aux cable , and choose “Aux “ in original menu before playing the music in android side ; if you recover back to original car system, when you plug the phone to aux ( choose Aux in original menu), , but it also not work , it mean your original aux do have some problems, the sound of head unit go through optical fiber & AUX .
Which system do you have if you don't have any of the connectors you list on there? I just have a single pin.
I switched my audio to aux in og settings and then I went to android it worked for me
Hi, Thanks for a very informative video is it a possibility that 1st connection is connect without reopening the dashboard. I have sound in DVD player plus original radio but CarPlay has no sound the mechanic has already installed the CCC (my car is BMW 2008 530i E60
The android music and CarPlay using the same audio channel, thus, you can see when playing music in android home menu and see if the music have sound or not , if that have sound , but CarPlay no sound , then check if your phone also connected to original Bluetooth or not , CarPlay is not allow to use Bluetooth at the same time . In fact, this video have mentioned these steps , you can watch it in details again . Or what you mean is : the CarPlay music is fine but when calling , no sound ?
I have a 2010 Audi A5 Cabriolet. My professional installer put it in a new Zlink Head Unit, but he could not get sound to come out of the speakers only the radio. Do you have a video for this problem in an Audi? Or would this be the same issue in an Audi as in the BMW in this video. Thanks so much for any help you can provide.

Hi there.. I have a 2011 e90 3 series. I had this installed by my car technician guy. The sounds work and connections are fine. However... At random times, i get absolutely no sound.. No radio and nothing from the same gps unit. I have the same one you have in this video. Once i turn off my car for 5-10mins, the sound comes back again. It never turns off on me when im listening to music. Only when my car is off and i ignite it, at a very random time the sound will be loss. Do you have any clue what could be wrong? Thanks
Probably a stupid question, but I cannot figure out how to get back to the original (OEM) menu screen in order to check/change to the AUX connection/setting. Specifically for the CIC at the 3:43 mark. How, once the new Android screen is installed, do you get back to the original settings menu as shown in this video? Again, specifically shown at the 3:43 time mark in this video? Thanks in advance!

If no optical fiber cable , then just connect the power cable directly, with or without optical is not an issue for this problem.
Very good video, very detailed. But for me still doesn't going. When i put back OEM the sound from the aux works, but when I plug the android display back in, there is no sound whatsoever. Feeling bad and flustrated...

do you think harness is faulty. it seems its not sending the aux to radio.
I have a 2016 BMW F23 NBT system and I didn't have any optical wires OR needed to connect the AUX in the armrest, and the sound seems to be working OK... do some models of car not need to do either of these steps, or am I missing something?
NBT car types can switch the audio by internal ( the sound switch through the big power cable ), thus, some NBT car is ok not to connect the AUX cable, but you need to test the sound , if that is no sound , you still need to connect it; if the car have optical cable , move it , if no optical cable , then just plug the power cable , then will be fine .
can this head unit allow hi resolution files to pass through apple CarPlay using carlinkit auto
If you need to send the files to android unit, you can send it by normal USB ( instead of CarPlay autokit ).
Hey I have a f20 the Harmon kardon I have no fibre optic cables and no aux normal nav sound works but the android screen doesn’t work any thoughts that could be the problem?
You can watch the video in details, watch the video to the end. First make sure the AUX well connection (2), choose AUX in original menu (3), check the settings (5), and check if the factory AUX work or not (7). If your car without a valid AUX-In, that is hard to handle it.

Anyone get a loud thump sound throught the speakers after fitting this unit via AUX? sounds works fine appart from nearly blowing my speakers when turning on my vehicle.

@@Viggggggr pretty sure it’s because the Aux is already active when the HU initialises power, the HU then sends a small power pulse out the output hence the “thump” sound. Not ideal but I don’t think it can be avoided.
In this video , from 7:58 , talking about the audio filter box, you can try that way, sometimes the audio filter with something Wong that can also make sound problem.

Hi Paul! I have a big issue. I try to play something on the Android box, it works for 3 seconds and then jumps from External Devices\ AUX to Music Collection. I have sound for CD/Radio and also if I connect my phone to the AUX port, I have moved the optical fibre. Do you know what could be the issue?
Your model is android screen? After 3 seconds and jumps to music collection, the music continues to play ? Or it will stop ?

Later Edit: it seems there was a setting in the android “panel shortcut memory key” on which you choose 8 - aux has to be set in the original interface to 8 panel key.

Hello, I have e60 and android head unit. There is sound via bluetooth calls but no sound when try to listen music from the usb or yt over the phone (bluetooth connection). Can you recommend the solution? Thank you.

I have installed a CIC Android auto compatible with my bmw X1, when i use the radio and the gps since the screen of Android auto i have the sound without any issue. But when i use Carplay without Bluetooth and also connect my phone by only Bluetooth i have no sound, even if i play a RUclips video directly from my Android auto screen i have no sound. The only one action that i mustg do to have the sound is to connect my mobile phone on the usb port of the car. Did you have met this type of issue? Thank you in advance for your replies..
So, from your description: the Bluetooth, CarPlay, and video from android side are no sound; the USB you connected should be the OEM car . You can double check the connection as this video mentions, check step by steps.

The “ head unit “ sound , you mean the sound from android screen? When we say “ head unit “, it mainly means the original radio head unit ( OEM head unit ).
Good afternoon , I just installed a android screen CIC , I have fiber cables connected to the original force , the aux cable I don’t have connected because I don’t have any behind the unit and the screen is on mute I cannot change it , I was thinking connecting them by Bluetooth and play from the screen to the original head unit is that possible?
The android system can not work by Bluetooth, still connect the aux

Hi, when the video gets to 4:56 there is a screen on the right hand side with a fuel pump. Do you know how i can get rid of that half of the screen? It covers my original interface
You can set the original as full screen, then will remove it . ( access to factory setup menu, choose “ car display “

Sound is working without connecting the aux cable but theres hertz sound and sound not clear on calls or when the music is loud, nbt system
In AUX mode , not recommend set to too high volume level. Also, if our android model, it can go to factory set up menu, to set the microphone gain . Normally MIC gain set to 18~19 is enough; you can also connect the AUX cable to AUX jack and see if ok . Also can try to update the firmware.

you mean , in OEM car menu, you choose AUX, but can not increase the volume level of AUX? You need to choose it, and rotate the idrive knob.

But the Aux loudness is by 1 point, i cant get it louder.

Your head unit probably ain’t powering off. I’m having the same fucking issue on my BMW because the radio don’t have a power on and off button.

then you should add the AUX-IN first. or use FM stereo box for that.

Audio need aux connected for nbt system?
NBT is no need , but you can test when installing it , if it can not switch by internal, then you need to connect it .

@@alainnigrelli5293 sorry I just can read english, I don't know what kind of "small box" or "fuse" you mentioned about, you mean the box in android power cable? if yes, that is audio filter box. the audio come from android screen and past by this box, thus, in 7:58 of this video, we recommend to check the connection of this box.

@@Kupsko the old E60 without AUX-IN port and in menu without AUX, that need to code the car and add the AUX-IN connector to the card, only that it can work.

hi, I mounted an android monitor on my 1 series without original monitor but I have a problem. I connect with bluetooth and I only hear the audio of the calls and not the audio of the songs. This also happens with the usb stick. The media on the phone pauses and there is no audio.
you can check if your model on "AUX" mode, since the audio go via AUX-port, thus you need to set the original radio head unit to "AUX" mode. that way the sound can go to AUX.
also sdoesn't seeme to be able to pair phone to BMW, only pair phone thourgh androidscreen?
What if you get very low quality audio ? Mine sounds bad I have to raise volume of car a lot just to hear it and it sound like it’s under water very unclear
