- I was ripping my hair out on this one. It seems like it would be an easy fix if they updated the firmware to always power the ANT line.

My Gosh! I was excited to install this unit untill I started scratching my head! The radio worked bit not the stereo. Literally almost 12am and my wife just left me alone to dig for answers on the internet 😂
You are a life saver!! Just on time before our trip
Brother… you just saved me probably hundreds of dollars… I was like why the heck can I get radio noise but nothing else.. I was ready to hack into the main frame lol
I feel it, thats why I made the video lol
I literally pulled some hair out this morning, but your vid helped me A LOT. I have spliced the amp turn-on signal with the acc. Now the amp stays on and RUclips/Bluetooth works :D
Many thanks 👍🏻
Thank you sir! With your video and a Positap I had this fixed in about 90 seconds!
As one other commenter noted, there appears to be an amp wire (blue&white) on most of the RCA plug harnesses. From what I can tell, this is actually switched by the UI, but it’s probably easier/faster for most of us to just tap the ACC line so the amp gets power at the same time as the HU.
Thanks again!!!
Dude.... thank you thank you thank you. I bought this unit from an amazon return auction for $25.00 and couldnèt get it to work properly. That is until I watched this and BOOM.... itès fixed.
I gotchu
I wasn't even looking for this video but perfect timing! I'm getting this unit in a few days and this would have driven me nuts. Thanks!
Hey, thanks for your video. I bought a head unit for my e90 off of Amazon and didn’t return it because I knew it had to be an easy fix. After buying a cheap $5 multimeter from harbor freight, I had it fixed in a few minutes… Just like you said, I found the amp wire that was turning off when opening apps, yet it was on when using FM/AM radio and simply spliced ACC power to it. Now I can use my CarPlay. 😂
Right on man, enjoy
Did your stereo came with a harness ?
Hey! I have an e90 328i 2007 with a headunit from amazon as well lol. I was just setting it up today and I am at the same situation these ppl are at. Can you explain which wire is the amp on the e90 or make a video? Thank you so much! And merry christmas
@@harroinsI have the same problem…
So splice amp wire and run it to which wire
My Android 10.1 unit uses a harness for JBL amplifier. To solve the no-sound issue, I connected the AMP CTR wire from the main power plug to the AMP CTR from the RCA plug.
OMFG TY SOOOOOOO MUCH I was pulling out my hair and am now completely bald
I've searched the depth of youtube and Google for a fix for this issue.... thanks so much bro mad respect 🙏.
Good deal glad you got your problem fixed I just installed the head unit and haven't had any problem until tonight and I can't get the radio app to open the screen goes black and then it goes back to the home screen any one else had that problem
Thanks for the video. I too just had the same problem with my upgrade, except i had an amp wire from the radio and connected to that instead of the power antenna wire. This video only applies to an external amp. My other truck is basic and works fine. Thanks again for the video
Thank you very much I spent a few hours trying to figure it out until I found your video!! Love from the Bahamas!!!!!
I just found your video and I haven't tested it but I am sure your solution will the issue I have on my friends car so thank you in advance! Glad you made this video, it looks like it might have helped quite a lot of people based on the views.
You've given me a clue how to fix my new installation 🤞
Thanks for the tutorial I was losing my mind over this. I moved the headunit from my 94 chevy Silverado to my 2010 chevy traverse and all of a sudden only the radio audio worked.
Actually, I spoke with one of the manufacturers about this. The second pack of stereo cables that have RCA jacks have the blue AMP CONT wire that you need to connect to the factory amp cable. The cable you were using is for a powered antenna. Which is why the radio turns on and gives power to turn the amp on. It’s confusing because the antenna power wire is blue just like the amp wire. Most people with factory amp might never plug in the rca cables since they aren’t using them with a factory amp, hence never locating the real amp wire.
Grazie grazie
Scusami il secondo pacchetto di cavi con rca va inserito nellautoradio e di esso va attaccato solo il filo blu ampl. Al cavo rosso acc. Giusto?
How do i connect the AMP CONT cable to the factory amp? 😅😅 I am having this same problem but dont even know where the factory amp is
Awesome thank you for this! I was wondering why there was a blue wire on the RCA pack. Do you know where to find or what color the factor AMP wire is for me to connect to the blue RCA wire for power? That’s where I am stuck.
Like someone mentioned earlier they spliced the ACC constant power to the AMP CONT wire so the head unit triggers the amplifier at start up versus only when the radio app is in the background.
Thanks bro this video really helped me solve my issue. I was getting ready to install a switch in between my blue amp wire coming from my android radio
My issue was I would only get power from my blue amp wire from the unit only when disconnecting and reconnecting it.
I was going crazy, I'm glad you were able to help, bout to open the dash up correct the problem and see what happens!!
If anyone is having this issue with the Chinese android for the Chevy Cruze LTZ, simply unplug the plug with the RED ACCESSORY WIRE. It's a plug with 4 wires on it. Do not use this plug on your new android radio. It shuts off the amplifier and all volume. Took me forever to figure it out and it was honestly by accident.
Pls make a video on this bro
Do you have a video on this? I bought a Chinese android screen for my Chevy Malibu but have no sound
@@Jake-im8eq if your android radio is the same as mine it will be the plug that has 2 black 1 purple and 1 red wire on the harness. Unplug that and just don't use it. I have the premium radio package in my ltz rs cobalt so mabe it's different.
@@Jake-im8eq do you have that plug on your aftermarket android?
Cannot find what you're talking about
My god!! Thank you!! Thats the only issue i been having with mine. Lol
Big props to you for the correct pronunciation of Porsche!
Dude. Thank you so much! Chased that issue for hours.
Man this was driving me crazy, thank you!
Good find Patrick, well done mate. Was hoping to find the answer to my similar problem here but I don't think this is it. But I suspect the wiring harness is wired wrong on my new head unit as well. Ignition sometimes turns the head unit on/off. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes turns off randomly sometime after you've turn the ignition off. My antenna does go up/down when the head unit turns on/off respectively, so I don't think that is my problem. Also no sound intermittently on any of the music sources (BT phone or local apps) and only a factory reset fixes this. But sometimes it doesn't lol. Pretty sure the on/off problem is due to something like the main power supplying the unit being wired up to the + wire that feeds a constant 12v supply to help the head unit hold its memory, or something like that? No idea. But I appreciate seeing that other units have had wiring issues as this gives me hope. Anyways, fun and games. If anyone recognizes any of these symptoms and can save me some headache troubleshooting, I'd appreciate the suggestions! Cheers!
Life saver!! I was ready to ship it all back! This was my exact issue. I used the ANT wire instead of the ANT/AMP wire on my Eonon Q80Pro. These are seriously worth it for the money if not for these small quality fixes.
I just got this radio in my 03 Avalanche and had the same issue. Thanks You!
Would love to see a before and after of your wiring
You just saved me days or aggravation and possibly returning it. First video that popped up and it had the answer!!
Thank YOU! FUCK! They need to make more HOW TO videos on this dang thing. I've been looking for days.
Buddy, you just saved me from throwing out one of these units for my Jeep 😅
Thank you so much! Just bought this and like you about pulled my hair out trying to figure this out. Did what you showed and it worked
Glad it helped!
I just installed the awesafe unit and it works great except for the rear speakers in my 2008 enclave without premium sound. I fade fully rear with volume all of the way up and still nothing. Stock head unit worked flawlessly. I don’t have rear amps as far as I know. Wiring diagrams don’t claim there is anything in between the head unit and speakers.
Antenna wire is blue (ANT) and is only powered when terrestrial radio is on. Amp turn on wire is BLUE-WHITE.
Very helpful thank you
No words could express how grateful I am towards you now brother. I felt hopeless and wanted to spend another $1.1k to get a sony head unit just because this android headunit doesn't work. I tried this trick today and it works. Thank goodness, you saved me big time! However, it doesn't play music smoothly. Always lagging and choppy as if it has Tourette's syndrome. Any way to fix this? I bought the highest spec and I was expecting it to be high quality.
@@MalaHotBod start with the basics, try doing a factory reset
@@MegamanEXEv2 Thank you for your super prompt response. I'll give it a try and let you know!
Thank u vary much did this today why I was waiting on oil change woooo I'm fuckin hyped thanks again so much
Ant wire is for a power ant, you gotta use the blue with a white stripe for remote amp
I was just wondering. If I don't have an external amp, will I still have this problem? Or is it just for external amps?
Also, how does it sound without an external amp?
Fantastic video!
Thanks for saving my sanity.
How did you mount yours to the dash? Other videos I've seen use velcro 😮
man thanks cause I was about to take mine out back and burn it
Thanks for the help! It works!
Well on my car I did hook it into ACC and it drained my battery dead overnight....each car is totally different configuration. If when you take out the key and open your door the unit is still on...then you can't use ACC even if you power off the unit from the front it doesn't matter. The yellow wire is for contant 12V basically to retain time and preset stations....it will not draw anything like if it was hooked up to ACC
This android head unit comes with a separate harness which HAS the remote amp power on it! It's the one with the audio plugs. No need to use the antenna power or tap into acc.
Can you provide a link? I'm pretty sure I was given the wrong harness and am pulling my hair out!!
@@tonyelleevans3322 It is called RCA input/output harness. The blue wire is the amp power.
@@Gigaloader Where should the blue wire (Amp Cont) connect too?
@@Gigaloader I connected the Amp blue wire with the Amp C blue wire and still have no sound. Audi RS4 B7 2007.
@@NicholasNicolaides I would measure it out with a volt meter and see if you 're getting constant 12 v coming from Amp C (continues) wire. These are sometimes used by the original car radio to sound the open door chimes and power a sub amp. You don't want to connect to that one as it probably gives you a switched continues 12 V. I think Audi may have blue wires with a white stripe as their amp power.
Thanks a lot I've got sound but doesn't seem like my factory subwoofer is putting out strong.
MAN this drives me crazy also!
So you just cut the ANT wire from the amplificator and wire it to the accessory and that's all?
I will try this fix and come back!
Thank you very much for your video!
did it work?

Hey, I really like how you broke down everything in this video. I was wondering if you might have some advice or an answer in my situation. My radio is working my Bluetooth and other sounds are working, however the stereo from the right front and right rear speaker is not coming on whatsoever.
I’m only able to hear music and sound from the left side driver’s side. What do you think maybe the cause of this? I just recently got some repairs done and I’m just wondering if maybe the right front and right rear speaker have been accidentally removed 🤔
so... does this mean the blue wire must be connected to yellow?
Having the same issue, going to try this - do I splice the blue AMP (from the new head unit) to the car's (Renault Clio 2014) accessory power? And how do I know which cable is the accessory power? I have tried finding a wiring harness online but cannot find anything! TIA
Thank you so much for your video. you are god sent
I’ve got a problem where the volume button doesn’t work it says it’s changing the volume with the number going up and down but actually the volume doesn’t change I can only mute then it stays on one volume
Question, it seems i don't have that cables or maybe they are not labeled, the ones that are labeled are KEY1, KEY2, AMP CTRL, PARKING, CAM DET.. Any ideas?
Having the same problem, dont wrry bro u not the only one
what about if u dont have amp and it cuts sounds completly intermitent?
How do you fix a volume lowering on its own problem with these?
Thank you for posting this. I have android head unit with the amplified harness for my car which is a 2008 Lexus RX400h. At first it seemed like it was working. However for whatever reason if I don’t start the ignition fast enough it turns the amp off. Furthermore even when it is working as soon as I turn the car off and turn it back on the sound is no longer working. Only an unplug from the negative on the battery fixes it and it just keeps happening. It almost works however for whatever reason it refuses to turn the amp back on after an initial start up after the battery is plugged back in after being unplugged. Hope someone has at least come across this issue. If you have an have a fix please let me know. It’s really to bad too. Honestly is fantastic when it works. However if I have to unplug the battery every time I go to start my car I don’t think I should have to do that. Thanks for reading this.
My problem is a little bit different the radio turns on and works then you turn the car off when you come back 15 minutes later and turn the car back on the radio turns on and it shows you like if it was playing music but no sound coming out the speakers and then you have to reset it again and again can anybody give me some pointers when it works it works super sweet super perfect turn off the car come back 20 minutes later then you start having problems it turns on and it even shows Movement Like if a song was playing but no sound coming out of the speakers and the only fix I see is resetting it when you reset it it goes back to work and Fine Again software bug
Same, have you found a solution for it?
Thank you!! I had this exact problem!! Been going through all the settings on my phone and the head unit scratching my head.
Thanks this helped a lot... also do you know how to do the video in motion hack ?
I have a sha16/23.. It was working for months and then stopped the sound. Don't know why ima check this method.. I'm hooked up to a subwoofer, compasetor and 1000W amp.. cross your fingers. Open to suggestions.....

What happens if there’s no audio with both radio and all media ? Including cd?

@@drgstrife what kinda car do you have
Hello, so basically I have to connect the blue ant wire straight to the pink acc wire??
Thank you so very much!!! Really helpful!!
You use the (amp turn on or remote ) .. the antenna wire is to put up an power antenna . So when u switch to everything but the radio that ant wire will not work .
In the settings you can set antenna always on. That would keep power to it.
Just had a really good look at all my cables. Tried everything. My problem is exactly the same but my sound does actually work for a split second then it shuts off. That's you tube on the actual unit and music playing via Bluetooth. A split second, so frustrating
Same but after a few days with that problem now its completely mute. U find any resolution?
What wires did u change ckuz mine dont make no noise at all
Thanks to you and thanks to the other guy
Thanks Pat.

Worked perfectly. Thank you. Now my hands free calling and apps have sound.
I'll try this tomorrow.
Atm my Bluetooth doesn't play music unless I select radio first then switch to Bluetooth.
Its like the radio is the on switch for sound to come through.
I've seen this before throughout my life but couldn't figure it out until your vid started with you holding the att wire...
It's a rookie error.
Thanks for your vid. Hopefully sending a voltage through the wire on startup should do the job.
I'm sorry to ask but You are my last hope: I live in Sweden. I bought a Chinese Android Car Stereo at Amazon but I know so little about technic so I don't even now if Your problem was the same as mine but I ask anyhow: My car seller installed it for me. But when I start my Kia Sportage 2013 and connect my phone/Carplay I can hear little radio/Spotify first. But a few seconds or minutes later (when I star driving) the sound dissapears. I can see the radio/Spotify running and also the map but no sound. Sorry my incompetence but is my problem the same as yours? /Maria

Hi I spliced my radio antenna wire into the acc wire for power and to get the Bluetooth sound to work and it worked fine for a day. Everything functioned as normal. For some reason today now when I turn off the car my radio stays on. Not sure why as I checked the power with key off and was no power to either of these wires only with key on. Now for some reason with key off the head unit is keeping constant power and won’t shut off. Please anyone with a solution would be greatly appreciated!!
Doesn't it make perfect sense that the Antenna power line would only be powered in radio mode? Surely that's for a power antenna...
Idon't get any Audio from any source , i could not find any amp switch or amp remote wire for my fiat 500 on the wire diagram , I did find wires for "amplified" rear and front , left and right speakers and also for amplified subwoofers 1 and 2 (+) and (-) so i have no idea witch cable to split to connect the acc.

Hi friend, very good video. But I would be very happy if you could help me solve a problem that happened with a 2016 Clio 4, when putting it in reverse the proximity sensors work with the bar indicating the colors, but it does not make the approach sound which helps a lot to notice an object or person without having to look at the screen. With the original screen it worked correctly, I would greatly appreciate if you have any ideas about it, I took it to the technician who installed it and he did not know how to solve it.
