I've been watching this channel for years. And I'm not exaggerating when I say this is the absolute best video you've ever done. Everyone brought something special to the table and it was just a delight.
Forget about Avengers being the biggest Crossover! We've got the Lost Codex, Taliesin & Evitel and Lawrencium, and Sir Thompshire! Awesome and lovely, great work guys!
Oh yeah. Part of what makes The Thing (1982) so great is the viewer has no idea what The Thing's actual motives are (or even what it actually is). The less you know about something that's supposed to be mysterious, the better.
I actually remember this story. It was one of the first Warcraft comics I ever read. Good times... You guys did a really amazing job in bringing this story to life.
I just wanted to stop by and say thanks for providing amazing content for all of these years. I remember watching your videos all the time when I was in college and I never gave you a proper thank you for all of the work you’ve put into making this content.
When wondering how some of those that wander as ghosts died. There are "rumors" of an NPC just outside the fair area that, used to, sells some suspicious items. With names reflecting various races. That NPC is Rona Greenteeth. She currently only sells 3 items such as the Inky Black Potion. But before, there was more. ;)
@@MrGoesBoom in that part of the island? Yes. i think one or two of them was nearby but not close to her. (can find out this week since it'll be starting soon :) )
Damn... I sure did not know about that story! Now I feel a lot more closer to Kerri! We were both victims of mob's unjust blame. We both survived, yet mine is a bit lame. ;D
Wow. I have heard of Darkmoon Fair, but I never went. I was too busy with regular questing. I see that even something so peripheral can still have interesting lore. The link between Darkmoon Fair and Old Gods is intriguing.
Certainly a bit different to the normal videos, but everyone did a fantastic job! That was some amazing work everyone put in. Just needs a bit more of that sweet, sweet Nobbel voice.
@@TheLostCodex I very much caught the Charles dance vibes there, especially at the moment hes talking about "my only living son!" Very well played sir.
I still agree to the lore idea that Silas is one of the old gods, but he cares about happiness. Cause I think there should be ancient beings of things besides the bad.
If you think about it. In the Hearthstone almost all the cards we’re corrupt-able except Silas, the seer, and a few fel/light demons. What if Silas changed in the story because he got corrupted in story?
Funnily enough, if you happen to have captions turned on, it seems like some of the written script was transposed directly into it. For example, when Kerri is pleading with Silas, the captions show her speaking in rhyme; complete with a director's note saying they'll have the VA record two sets of lines, one in rhyme and one not since they aren't sure which they're going with at the time of writing. It goes by fairly quick though, so if you want to read it you gotta pause and move the video along slowly.
Director here! Obviously this wasn’t meant to appear in the closed captions but since it did some additional thoughts: I wanted to have Kerri’s plea to Silas be really emotional and struggled on having her rhyme like the narrator or not. Evitel even recorded the rhymed version for us just in case we did go that route. We ended up scrapping it because it put to much precedent for other cast members to rhyme too early and we wanted to have others rhyme just on the whim so we scrapped without. Fun little Easter egg tho!
this is fantastic, love the art and the execution, just one question though. If she is the strongest women in the faire, why did she break out and return to the faire? 😂
@@benacewoofstorm Well there is a large part of him just chilling on the surface of the planet, or sort of on the surface. The Crucible of Storms raid's second half takes place in an area called the Tendril of Corruption, and it was confirmed by Blizzard that the Crucible of Storms has a part of N'Zoth in it. I'm pretty sure the second part of the raid takes place inside a severed tentacle of N'Zoth. He is basically a massive octopus which there are species of octopus that their severed tentacles actually live on like they are their own entity. I think this is a similar case with N'Zoth. I have a theory that a certain someone might end up resurrecting him similar to how Cthylla in the Cthulhu mythos is to birth Cthulhu when he is ultimately destroyed, he created Cthylla as his secret daughter for this reason because he saw a prophecy or a vision of his demise. I think the Tendril of Corruption is a remnant from when N'zoth fought Y'shaarj and lost, when he lost a tentacle he realized brute strength was not the way to go and instead chose to resort to cunning. I believe he created Xal'atath as his sort of secret daughter similar to Cthylla. I have a few points that help my theory. Cthylla is described as a winged octopus with many eyes. There just so happens to be an image of a being that matches that description in the margin of Chronicle volume III on the same side as N'Zoth. Another key thing about Cthylla is that she can take on a humanoid form, something Xal'atath has done as well. Cthylla was held inside a city deep in the ocean and guarded by The Deep Ones. Xal'atath as a blade was held inside Nazjatar and and kept by the Naga. There were also large worm like creatures in the city that Cythilla was kept in, and would you know it there are large worm creatures in Nazjatar that work with the Naga. I don't think the Naga were just holding onto the blade like a possession, but were actually keeping it safe and hidden to not let Xal'atath be known to the world. So I think that Xal'atath is a creation of N'Zoth and sort of is a 5th Old God, just not one that was directly sent by the Void.
I still think it's weird that the Tauren Chieftains only have the 1 song that they just play over and over again even after 16 years. Would it kill Blizz to give them more songs? I mean sure there's also Blight Boar, but they only have the 1 song too. At least EVE Online has their in-house band that comes out with new stuff here and there ( though I don't think many people at all actually have the in game music playing very long. Still PermaBand has some good songs )
Think it’s more the fact the actual band doesn’t play any more. Low priority on giving an in world band songs when before they just took the bands real tracks and put those in game!
Silas Darkmoon Battlecry: If a friendly minion dies this turn, silence and destroy an enemy minion.
So cool
Read the manga/comic
Makes perfect sense after
I was listening to the song at the end of this video and after reading this I got chills
finally, the best wow lore

What a hefty video! Anyone who has not seen a Lost Codex video has been missing out.
I agree, Jesse and his team always make incredible videos. I love their history videos that detail the histories of different races and such.

Darkmoon faire is one of the most mysterious things in WOW and that is what gives it so much flavor , I hope they never fully reveal what is going on.

I love the Darkmoon Faire.
Anyone else notice that Revendreth has a similar esthetic?
I like how the laugh Silas is mixed together with Yogg-Saron's, nice touch to the Old God theory!
This was one of the creepiest short stories in that comic, by far :D

I've speculated before Silas Darkmoon may have a connection to the Old Gods. Makes me wonder what he was doing when N'zoth escaped in BfA.

Shame that will probably never be explored now that N'Zoth was unceremoniously killed in a single patch.
