0:26 Chronicle says that the Shadowlands existed ever since mortals came to be in the physical universe, however before the titans ordered each planet, they were only inhabited by elementals. Are elementals considered mortals? Or were there some other races living along with them that can be called so?
I think that since elementals are living magic that when they die they go to the shadowlands to be the elemental like stuff we see there like the owls for the kyrians and the equivalent servants that the covenant realms have that work how elementals work in the living realm.
@@Bigbootyboi420 I don't think that's the case because the keepers imprisoned the elemental Lords and their servants (inside the 4 elemental planes) instead of just killing them because their spirits are bound to Azeroth, if their corporeal form is destroyed they would simply manifest again in time.
@@AlexKayzProductions that's also how the elementals creatures in the shadowlands work which is why I think there is a connection and we haven't seen an elemental lord who died in there realm be reborn as what it was named but its power gets redistributed
Sylvanas ended up blackmailing the blood elves, her (former) people, into investing heavily in a costly war with the Lich King right when they were in desperate need to recover after the Sunwell Incident. I honestly have no idea what reason Sylvanas would end up in the Maw for. 🤷♂️
Indeed. While her quest for vengeance may be justified, she did some messed up things to even get there. Pacts with the Burning Legion, mind control, betrayal, enslavement... and that's just in Warcraft 3, before they even joined the Horde.
Yeah, and even before she died, she would describe her soldiers as arrows in a quiver, and had no issues sending them to do if it benefited her hand design. Arthas didn't raise her just out spite. She was cold and cunning, her deaths have only amplified that.
I still like the idea the souls the Arbiter would truly desire to condemn to the Maw would be those who have tried to subvert death; those who attempt to break the cycle of the Shadowlands; those who have torn other's souls back to the world of the living. And especially those who have died, and yet are able to return themselves: Us.
I suppose the reasoning there could be so long as they're connected to the Lich King, then they could be raised as death knights. I couldn't see Sylvanas not raising a fresh crop of death Knights if it was within her ability to do so. Unless she'd fear them breaking away from her as they did Arthas.
Hey Nobbel, I was here wondering. The Lich King and Yogg-Saron had some kind of a beef, right? Then Sylvannas - who was a mortal enemy of the Lich King, commits suicide on a saronite spike, and is shown visions of an afterlife of eternal torment. From that moment on, all that she did has led her to the pact with the "Jailer" and the destruction of the Helm of Domination -- which also means to a certain degree the destruction of the "entity" of Lich King itself. Wouldn't it be one of Yogg-Saron's greatest wishes to see the destruction of one of his greatest enemies - and possibly the only force in Azeroth capable of keeping Y.S's influence at bay. It seems Sylvannas's actions are working very much to Yogg-Saron's best interests (even if she doesn't know it). Perhaps we're going to come back from Shadowlands after who knows how much time only to find Yogg-Saron reawakened and in control of much of Northrend. Even other old gods might possibly be reawakened after him. After all, Yogg-Saron isn't the god of death of the mortal races of Azeroth, but he might very well be the god of death of the Old Gods themselves, with the power to bring them back from Ny'alotha or wherever they end up going after we beat the s* out of them.
20:55 despite being muted I could hear that sequence from the trailer it was so memorable. The building music, the shriek and bang of the sky. So, so good.
This video kind of answers its own question in that , Valkyr are just some sort of "knock-off" Kyrians ?? and Halls of valor is just somewhere in between azeroth sky and shadowlands , Valkyr just snatch vrykul souls before Kyrians get to them lol
So what are the val'kyr allied with Sylvanas getting? Like why are they working together. It feels like a lot of missing pieces with all these bargains that Sylvanas has made with variopus characters.
When exactly did Sylvanas experience a peaceful afterlife... she was killed by Arthas and raised right away, i don't think we actually see her dying... her soul is torn from her dying body, not dead body.
It's in Arthas: Rise of the Lich King. It talks about her experiencing death, and then having her spirit torn and forced back, twisted and fueled by hate.

He blatantly copied stuff from Bastion (the Val'kyr), Maldraxxus (DK's, scourge structures, lich/necromancer powers), Revendreth (the San'layn, scourge's gargoyles), and the Maw (ICC architecture, LK's armor, etc). Only Ardenweald/Night Fae seems to have escaped his plagiarism; or, at least, I can't recall anything related to the LK or the scourge that seems slightly related to that realm... although I suspect he was trying to achieve something in that regards with Valithria Dreamwalker.
well we have to remember that even the LK and the scourge were created by the burning legion, originally. there are speculations and theories, the burnign legion might have had a contection to the shadowlands at certain points of the wow timeline. afterall, they can serve as a source of power.
The Chronicle described Titans being "born" as worlds coming to life, rivers running along them and what-not, but from what we've seen (Sargeras) this is simply not true. More likely their spirit leaving doesn't affect the planet, aside from possibly their Arcane life-blood leaving with them. The planet Argus was still there (messed up though it was) after the titan Argus was killed off. As for the sword, I don't think there's much that CAN be done.
