Funnily enough, I did a offline playthrough with the Annabelle (while avoiding the Pulse Rifle as it overwrites the slot with it).
If you manage to bring it all the way to the Super Gravity Gun scene - (IIRC) it physically shows up during that scene, before being destroyed.
Actually, if you take the pulse rifle you can still use the annabelle - Just use the scroll wheel to take it instead of the keys.

Update: I tried it in Mmod and it works, with the only difference that when using it it has the correct Model and even with an exclusive reloading animation, also that it is saved in a "3rd Slot" in the Spas-12 and crossbow part ( like with the Stunpick and the Ar3, Exclusive of Mmod), which makes me think that it was planned to include it and be able to obtain it normally, but in all it still uses the revolver ammunition.

i think my mmod is different, it uses default shotgun model lol
i think mmod fixes up a whole bunch of different things and makes them usable weapons, even though they're not in the campaign you can mess around with them with cheats or use them in your own custom mod.
Ill try it in my mmod, but with commands, im to lazy to do dis lol
Oh my gosh I was guessing how this glitch was gonna work, I knew it had to do somehow with killing grigori but it caught me sooo off guard when the radiator abruptly killed and launched grigori while you just take the annabelle with the grav gun and continue as normal LOL

I found a simpler way to get across 2:03, you basically go to the room where you use the lever to make the platform move and the moment you activate the lever you can crouch dive onto the platform while it's moving. Lots of effort put into this extremely useful for replaying the game. 💯💯

Lmao right? In retrospect, 30 headcrabs in a swarm isn’t hard to beat considering the majority of them were normal or poison.
When facing huge groups combine or zombies (like atleast 12 in any instance) I feel it’s better to use a different weapon if you’re not good with managing reload times and distance.

@@Flamma_Dreemurr I was making a joke about the size of the headcrabs. They're small, so you could call it a "small" group regardless of how many of them there are. "Small group" in that context would mean "group of small enemies".
It was horribly unfunny, and I regret even trying.

1:06 A small debunk: Grigori's model as shown in the leaked 2003 build of HL2 features the Annabelle as a bodygroup, but I don't know how much Grigori would've directly assisted us as we try to reach the church and then the sanctuary

@@mrjimjimjimmyjim9824 Axel Gembe leaked a beta build of HL2 back in 2003, and I had seen Grigori's Annabelle being a bodygroup (toggleable accessory, so to speak) than a proper gun.

It is the most accurate weapon in the game. I use it with the zoom of the suit as if it were a sniper rifle and I increase the ammunition in the text. I hope I find a rifle skin with a scope like a Remington 700 or the Mauser Kar 98 with a scope.

@@Pbcvl No, I tested the Annabelle rifle and the revolver separately at incredibly long ranges using noclip and spawning zombies in parts where targets almost completely disappear, that is, in areas on the edge of the maps where the player cannot access without using noclip . The Annabelle rifle has the same damage as the revolver but greater precision at long distances for a minimum difference of a missed shot at a target of 3 in 3 tests, these tests consisted of shooting the head of zombies generated by commands on the edges on maps at distances where targets almost disappear from view even using the suit's zoom, the Annabelle passed these tests without problems and has no recoil unlike the revolver. The only thing to criticize is its low cadence

@@Pbcvl I even once added his own unique crosshair by altering his text (weapon_annabelle) in the scripts folder, I gave it the reticle of the sniper rifle, a weapon cut from the beta version of half life of which only that file remains

this is also possible to do in the last map without any previous setups using the sawblades and cinderblocks in the area, but can be a bit tricky
In order versions/console versions you could shoot the shotgun he throws to freeman to move it away so that Grigori throws you the Annabelle

you can use the cinder blocks to do this which are located in the final arena, stack the 3 of them vertically to block the gate and then punt them towards grigori, half the time itll kill you so save, and then you can get his gun

I was new to the game when I watched this so I thought it was a joke because I thought the Annabelle was the Shotgun in the retail game.
I remember back in the orange box on the Xbox I punted the spas and quickly grabbed it with the grav gun and got the same result.
Yea back then on the Xbox 360 it was a different version and hadn’t been patched. I miss those days.
@@SubKnight151 yea I was playing the unpatched version so just the disc version is when I can do it and when I connected to Xbox live and the orange box updated couldn’t do it anymore.

On a survival situation, having a tool that you're more used and you trust completely is, sometimes, a better option than a brand new one that is either too bulky or you're not as used to.

grigori had a chance to leave, but instead chose to stay to "tend to his flock" as he means just killing off all the zombies, one would want the more efficient tool for an endeavor like that
That's because it's not a shotgun. Annabelle is modeled after a Winchester rifle
This is old but is Grigori a normal person in any other way? He probably named his gun, he stayed in ravenholm when he had the chance to leave, he's a little crazy to be honest. Most likely he found the gun on a zombie resistance guy, maybe he even used it for a while, he had it on his person after all, but think about it he was given the choice between giving away the gun he just found laying around or his Annabelle which he had probably named he chose the other gun, cause he knew he was more than capable with his own gun.
A tip: Annabelle and pulse rifle occupy the same slot. You can still use both if you use console to bind weapons (not considered a cheat by the game, just toggle it in the settings).
For example: bind b "use weapon_annabelle"
or bind b "use weapon_ar2"
Now, you will switch to the chosen weapon by pressing B, just bind a weapon that's missing in your weapon selection.
(Any key can be used instead of b, the hardest thing is to remember you have that bind)
You don't even need to do all that. The scrollwheel lets you equip the pulse rifle while the number keys let you equip the annabelle.
I don't really like using the scroll wheel and I didn't have quick switch enabled, so that's the thing I came up with

You can spawn it in with cheats if you put the following command in the console:
*sv_cheats 1; give weapon_annabelle*
It uses the .357 Magnum Ammo.
As long as you don’t use the revolver, you will have the ammo for the gun.

Slight issue, you will have to deplete its whole ammo just to equip the Pulse Rifle. So the question is: Would you use a rifle over a automatic one?

I have not encountered this issue in any play-through where I have performed this glitch.
But personally I would use Annabelle over the pulse rifle against most enemies, so it’s better in my opinion.
@@SubKnight151 Well i did in my last playthrough of Half Life 2, this is probably becuase you arent supposed to get Annabelle.
scroll wheel to switch weapon and pressing the number makes you cycle between those 2 for some reason
@@randomperson-uj4bpas jungleiratte has said, using the scroll wheel would allow you to select your pulse rifle. Using the number buttons on your keyboard do not work well.

I remember somehow getting the gun using no clip or some cheat when I was a kid and thinking it was odd that it used the regular shot gun model
Considering how this glitch works, you probably did it by noclipping over to grigori after the gate and killing him

This does work, sure, but it's much easier to just use the cinderblocks already in the graveyard.
I find it to be the easiest way for people who don’t know prop manipulation well.
@@SubKnight151 What I tend to do is just stack 2 of them on each other, and when the gate closes, if it doesn't kill him instantly, I just spam them with the gravity gun until one launches at 7000 miles an hour directly into grigori's knees

Mostly true. I'll say I was proven wrong. It's a little disappointing that from the player's perspective it looks like a shotgun and only holds two cartridges. This is due to the fact you're never supposed to get it (as this video points out).
Sorry you have to kill papa Grigori to do this and that’s a deal breaker for me, plus 6 shots is better than 2 any day

Well ofc it would still work the game was made 2004 and probably hasn't been updated since The Orange Box in 2009 (from what I know)
It's been maintained to this day, with various patches and quality of life updates.
Many methods before this one have been patched out, but this one sort of can't be patched out because it would require re-coding the entire source engine or making a major change to the level.
Fun fact about this weapon.
Father grigori reloading animation is a double barrel shotgun with lever action shotgun.
Thats why he shoots 2 instead of 6 in a mag tube
Back in my days you could just take the gun by jumping directly to Grigori's hands when he's tossing you the weapon. To get to his balcony you can use a barrel in a room nearby. It is very consistent and fast way to do. The video also doesn't specify that you won't be able to get a crossbow if you get Father's shotgun.
You are able to pick up the Resistance Crossbow with the Annabelle in your inventory, I have not come across that bug once in the many playthroughs I have performed this glitch.
I'm very interested in this bug though.

you can even do this if you place 2 bricks on top of each other where will grigori stand, then with luck just ram them
You can very well do this as well, I just made the tutorial with the radiator method because it’s the easiest prop in the level to manipulate and use to kill Grigori.
I really wish they make half life 3 next year or atleast some half life dlc because im starting to getting bored playing half life 2 over and over again

Also, you dont need to grab the first radiator, there are more around the map, one of them is at the end in one of the houses

Well, in hindsight this is for a vanilla run. I would consider altering the game files to have infinite ammo cheating, but yeah I mean if you have infinite ammo go ahead and use the magnum 😂

I remember while playing the android port, I managed to get father to die right near the gate where he farewells the player to the mines. First a poisonous headcrab got him to 1 hp and then a poisonous zombie finished him off. There was a small gap in the fence trough which I just gravity gunned the Annabelle. For this to work you need to avoid angering the poisonous zombie until Gregory opens the gate.

Very interesting video and NPC killing method. It's amusing that the developers didn't account for handling NPC deaths from physical objects and level. Equally intriguing is the fact that by adding weapons for NPCs, they essentially create new and fully functional weapons in the game, ones that aren't given to the player and, of course, aren't intended to be in the player's hands. If I were the developers, I would add some easter egg when that weapon ends up in the player's hands.

wait if i have the annabelle then i cant pick up the ar2? I got the annabelle in my first play through that is still not finished yet and now i cant pick up the ar2, i could say that the annabelle is a second option for the colt python but you reload faster with the annabelle since it reloads like the shotgun
You are actually able to pick up the AR2, but switching to the weapon only works with the scroll wheel and not the numbers on the keyboard.
@@SubKnight151the only time I used the ar2 was when I first picked it up and that one time when I ran out of ammo for all my weapons, did you used the fast weapon switch option for the scroll wheel?

attempted on 360 and it works. however you cannot select a different weapon and go back to it due to that game’s weapon UI. any work around? maybe avoid the shotgun?

Avoid the pulse rifle as Sebastian said. They use the same slot technically.
i booted up the game starting at ravenholm so hadn’t encountered a pulse rifle. i think shotgun affects it similarly

As a massive map maker for gmod right now, trying to make sure there is no problems, is kinda fun.
So.... annabelle is like.... a sniper rifle (???)

@@SubKnight151 I did it with my MMod with project half life (an addon wich have other animations), but sadly doesn´t have the model of annabelle.
"Do not use revolver ammo" so, a normal playthrough? (I always save that ammo for special occacions and i end up finnishing the game with full .357)

When I try to get the prop to kill him it just ends up killing ME instead.
never mind I got it to work but also propping a cinderblock on top of the radiator. Not sure why the cinderblock was needed but ok.
Some tips to make sure you survive :
1.) make sure to have as much health as possible. Take the medkits around the graveyard and bring them to the end with you.
2.) DO NOT touch the prop for more than a second, it will deal damage as long as you are touching it.
3.) You can alternatively use the gravity gun to “punch” the prop into Grigori, but the prop could come lose and close the gate resulting in you not being able to collect the gun.
Pro video and glitch. Also cool weapon unintended unlock.

You don't actually need to bring the radiator. It's easier if you do, but I managed to do it by stacking 3 cinderblocks tallways under the gate with a sawblade laying down on top of them.
The cinderblocks stop the gate high enough that you can crawl under, and the sawblade sticks out far enough that Grigori touches it when he runs up to the gate. In some cases you don't even need to do anything. Just him running up to them will kill him.
