I work in a railway control room with 8 PC monitors around me with 3 PC's. It would make my work setup much more clean.
Work? Good luck getting this added to the budget.
Yea I’m jaded.
I did this for me as I worn from home with over three monitors. So know I can have three windows for my one pc and chromecast for relaxation. No borders between monitors is soo nice.
Got mine yesterday, the bass on this thing can be felt across the house
This is AWESOME. You really don't get a good feel for how large it is until the shot where you're putting onto the desk. That thing is HUGE.
Got mine a few weeks ago with that $1k off. I absolutely love it! Deff glad I waited for the second gen.
1k off! How?
I'd pull the trigger on that right now if I could find it for half off!
@@atenleggedninjaHe has the link in the description of the video - the sale is still on at Samsungs website.
@@atenleggedninja Gen 1 scared me off when someone said typing characters are blurry. You find office applications look fine with your gen 2?
Such a great concept. I have two pcs, one for work and one for personal but I still do side projects on there. Would be absolutely great for me.
The difficulties of blinking with both eyes at the same time made me spit out my chicken and rice. Ahh, that was too good. Also, are you gonna do a giveaway on this monitor lol. I am saving my money but my wife has told me no multiple times but she can't say no once I have enough allowance. Id appreciate the hook up ;). Can't blame a dude for trying. Either way, you are a legend in my book. Every time you grace us with a video I get a tingle in my belly of happiness. Thank you for being you.
More tech reviews (or even sponsored videos) from Kyle pls🙌🙌🙌
i just got the gen 1 odyssey ark like 6 months ago. now i gotta upgrade again. great
I never figured Kyle for a Black Desert Online player. Welcome to the grind. :D
Man as a developer I'd love to use this thing as a daily driver. I currently use 3 horizontal screens and 1 vertical.
Really? I’m also a dev on a WQHD screen, split in 3 between chrome / vscode / app and I don’t know why I would need more. Also I think for us it’s way better to prioritize resolution over speed, like the 5k / 6k monitors
@@ajnart_ There's so much more I'd do with the extra screen real state... I usually need to have open: chat, chrome, intellij (multiple windows most of the time), project's documentation and sometimes the inspector... Having higher resolutions is not always the solution either, after 4k i feel like the higher resolution doesn't translate into more real state, mainly because scaling has to go up otherwise you won't be able to read unless you're really close.
Finally a monitor large enough for java stacktraces
Notification squad!! Love these tech vids!
Great Video thanks for your Review AweSome, I want this BEAST :) . . .
Getting mine soon!
Now that is a substantial monitor
Dang, love your review style Kyle! Enjoyed your comment “the most efficient way for people to watch me suck at video games” lol
It’s awesomely insane. I’d love to have one if I had a more traditional setup.
Wow. Now that’s a monitor!
*Waiting for it to go on sale here in New Zealand ;)*
Welcome back!!!
Work, play, stream n browse at the same time just got a monitor, hope that tech trickles down to more affordable displays in the near future
Can you post a detailed video on how you have set up a streaming PC & gaming PC along with your console to this monitor?
part of me wishes my DualUp was a bit bigger (taller and wider), but I'm totally happy with it.
Maybe few years down the road when I move out, I get that one.
Yeah they gotta go full imax
yup had it since October...great monitor.
im specifically buying this to play mine sweeper.... it will be amazing...
Dude ive been playing on my ark for 2 years now and love it
My son has an Odyssey Ark, it is massive. I wish there was a way you could replace / upgrade the connection box to take advantage of the new features.
I upgraded from a 34” ultrawide to the Arc 55” and I love mine..
Aweeeeeeeeesome!!!!!
Video editor/gamer and I'm having difficulty seeing details on 2 28-in monitors. Not to mention one of them monitors sucks but I Don't see many other monitors that strike my curiosity. Do you think this would be good to edit on? I'm thinking multi window in premiere
The big question on my mind is if someone already had the Ark V1, does the V2 Box work with the V1 display and enable the function of the V2?
As a gamer on TVs for years i wanted a large gaming monitor so when i saw them on sale in December and updated to 2nd gen i couldnt pass on it and no regrets at all
I'd love to introduce this to my workflow: Coding/Development of 3D Milsims; Recording video of capabilities I've developed, Accessing NAS and Teams calls. All with 4 different machines! I have my main work rig 13900K, 3090, 128Gb DDR4 RAM, 8tb of NVME SSD, then my work laptop, then my personal rig, then my nas or maybe even a PS5 for downtime. I could actually use all this screen real estate tbh.
INSANELY AWESOME!
Hi there, can you setup 4 displays of your home screen.. Thanks
Great video, wish a could afford this xD
Upgraded to the gen 1 model of this beast last year from the Neo G9 and boy does it smash. Would do it all over again
Hey, late to ask but do you ever get motion sickness or eye fatigue? So tempted to buy this it checks all the boxes specs wise but idk man 55inch is so daunting lol
Hey brother, honestly the best thing you could do is check it out in store like microcenter. I don't really get motion sickness and any eye fatigue I do get is more likely due to me not blinking often enough. If it helps, I still don't regret my purchase to this day. All of my friends' 24 or 27 inch monitors seem tiny to me now lol. Cheers
Is this compatible with G-Sync? Just wanted to know if I can use this with my RTX 4090?
Expensive but damn!!!! So good
Impressive..love multitasking
I've been designing on a 43 inch aorus and a 55 inch Samsung Q60R for 4 years now. Love the size! That's what she said. lol
I have the 1st generation of the Odyssey Arc and I love it!!! I am yet to see a better monitor than this one ever!!
Well the second generation connect box is better though.
I have a 42" monitor and I love it and would buy this size again... but it is as big as I think I would go. This would be great if it was a bit smaller imo
55" would be high as a 42" when it's widescreen like this. So not big problem. Still big..
@hades4438 isn't this a 16:9? You're thinking if it was 21:9.
@@CasepbX Really? Then yeah it's really big.. I think 42" is perfect, 48 acceptable but 55.. nop..
Skin is looking great!
This is such an interesting proposition. For multi-tasking with a single system, can you use two display out ports from a single PC and have them be treated as 2 separate monitors by windows? I assume so. However, the aspect ratio of a massive 16:9 display is extremely compromised *in my opinion* when you start dividing it up. I have a hard time accepting that I will either need to play a game in a much smaller quarter of the display, not centered, OR, choose a larger game view with supporting apps like twitch or discord in smaller displays, and leaving unused display space to fill in the gaps. I think multiple monitor set ups just make more sense in so many ways.
@2:22 Can you move one to the bottom and the other two to the top? I hope so and will find out friday
I have a perfect professional use case. We at work, use an internet connected network (email, teams, research) and a non internet connected production network. We typically have 2 dual monitors for each system. It would be nice to have this monitor for having a single monitor for 4 monitors instead of just 4 individual monitors.
Yeah there’s a lot of professional use cases for this. Even like media production and stuff.
Questions: Can the Odyssey Gen 2 one connect box that came with monitor work on one of Samsung's 8k monitors? I guess are all Samsung One Connect connectors identical? What I am looking to accomplish is taking in 4 different 4k sources and push it out to an 8k samsung monitor via the one connect. I almost bought a Samsung 8k last year until I found out their one connect box could not support 4 different video inputs. Which now that I am looking back was the same problem with the Gen 1 Odyssey Ark at the time. Another interesting question would be can Odyssey Gen 2 one connect box work on a Odyssey Gen 1 monitor. IE upgrade the one connect box without having the upgrade the panel.
Can the connect box be used for last years model?
I like it 😮
I love it
I was interested in this for WFH. I want to run my personal PC and work laptop from the same monitor and possibly use the mouse and keyboard with the built-in KVM switch. Then I saw that you have to install Samsung software on each PC to use the KVM. No-can-do with the work laptop. Almost had me Samsung. Almost had me.
I just had to connect a PC to one of these at work, but my One Connect Box does not have a display port! And of course the card in that particular PC doesn't have any HDMI ports, only display ports (Quadro RTX 4000). Does someone have a part number for the Samsung One Connect Box with display port? I can't find it online for some reason.
I'm sold on the seeing God part lol let open Google on Fullscreen😁😁🤣🤣
can u split the screen lets say, youtube, discord, game and twitch admin panel, all from the same pc?
I’m having a hard time with finding parts to build a desktop tower together (first time) and was planning on buying the new AW3225QF monitor. Anyone know what specific parts I should go for to get the most out of it? No concerns for the budget either
The KVM feature i really cool but the lag would kill me and I would need to look at Synergy which works great and is fast.
That was my main question, can you change the size and layout of the different screens. And now it’s the coolest thing in the world
Thats exactly what id want to know.. he touched on it briefly and mentioned things can be saved as presets but i guess i need to mess with it in a store or something.
.. can i toggle profiles or something and how does it treat 'screens'? important because a lot of window snapping stuff is wonky on really large displays. ie having 2 horizontal 'screens' on bottom vs just one big widescreen on the bottom.. If i want a PC to be treated as 2 screens does that mean im forced to use 2 inputs from 1 PC and it'll be more clunky because of all the screen swapping?
Profiles:
I want PC 1 to be '2 screens' across the bottom, PC2 on top left, PC3 on top right.
but then i want to swap to PC1 is '2 screens' top and bottom on the left, PC2 the same on the right..
what about swapping something to a large landscape mode as '1 screen'
Would this monitor work well with pro tools?
I been rocking the Samsung CJ89 43" monitor for several years now & I'm definitely thinking it's time for an upgrade!!! I'd have to figure out how to Vesa mount this thing though!!
They come with an included wall mount
I just bought a gen 2 for 30% off :) happy.
lol, I have been trying to talk myself into it for months now and just opened up amazon to look at it again 2 hours before this vid dropped.
use a software tool called barrier to share the mouse and keyboard across all 4 screens without the kvm switching.
I wonder how big is the screen when you set it in ultrawide mode. If its bigger than my LG 38GN950 this is a buy for me
EDIT: So I looked it up and putting this display in 21:9 the screen would be 47" wide and about 20" tall. My 38" UW its about 35" wide and 15" tall. I'm drooling thinking about being able to switch on the fly. I must have this monitor now lol
Enjoyable video!
Omg i wanted gen 1.. Iam so getting this one when i get 3k to buy it.
if I have a MacBook Pro M3, can I use this monitor as four different screens on one MacBook ? please answer thanks
I'm wondering how would streaming on this vs other uw or multi monitor setup? wouldn't want to doxx your own face when switching.
Can I use this monitor with 2 PC's without installing any software? (I work in home with a PC that is administrator locked.) thank you.
I am sitting here at a 49" 32:9 ultrawide display and this monitor actually looks like two of those 32:9 beasts stacked on top of each other. I kinda feel working on it would kill your neck. Mabe that's one of those things you just gotta experience yourself
today ordered one, 2gen
4k is a bit of a stretch at this size, 8k would be nice for this but love the idea of giga monitors in general, i think samsung is onto something
hola bro como se carga el control Ark Dial ?
Does the KVM support clipboard or copying over files, cause software KVM does...
Right now i'm using a 48inch oled lg, 38 ultrawide and a 27 inch monitor at the desk.
Replacing it by something like this would be an option for me.
But the price and no oled though.
awesome
Dayum, thats a chunky external KVM switch... Yo momma's so big, she makes Samsung Odyssey Ark KVM switches look normal...
Life’s simple… Kyle releases a video, we watch a video and enjoy it.
I got one a few months ago. I am happy with mine. Getting the KDM switch to work is a bitchh but after a few days it's working ok. The Samsung easy setting box software only works with windows btw. So its not very useful if you on Mac or linux for multiple inputs at the same time. Samsung support is not helpful at all. if you have an issue just factory reset your TV and start over. worked for me. Very odd I don't see many non sponsored reviews. My guess is it hard for the normal person to get alot of these cool features to work and Samsung is not very helpful.
Great video and I didn't see any bias at all. if you want to be real helpful to your viewers plz reach out to Samsung and let them work on easy settings app to work for all platforms or give better instructions on how to get it to work with all platforms.
Does this support MST on the display port input? It would be great if you could have windows output 1 4k image and then press a button and have it output 4 1080p images over 1 cable and have windows multi monitor support pin the windows into 4 screens properly. It would be very handy for software development and switching to gaming.
I know this isn't what you're asking about, but if you don't explicitly need windows to think its 4 separate screens because of weird compatibility stuff with some apps and you just wanna be able to logically separate your screen into 4 (or more) segments and easily have apps snap to each segment you should try fancyzones, its part of the windows powerplay tools, you can create any kind of window layout as you like and have windows snap according to that layout, its super useful.
how is it for office work?
Not bad for $2,000.00 That promo link adds a lot more value.
This is the Monitor I been whating for, almost like the one in Back to the Future.😂
This is insanely awesome 🤣🤣
I really want to be excited for this monitor, but even at $2,000 now, it is just too low resolution for the cost. It is essentially 4x 27 inch 1080p monitors. Sure the flexibility is nice (albeit a but convoluted how you need TWO removes is really really dumb as crap,) but I don't see a big draw to play in 32:9 ratio at 3840x1080...it really just needs about 50% more pixels; Because right now its ok for gaming, but way to low DPI for serious work. The 57inch g9 neo has twice the resolution for less money
A Boxers dream! I see my next purchase.
4 1080 inputs - make this 8k for 4x 4k and I’ll drop $5k
so when viewing 3/4 screens refresh rate drops to 60hz?
It may not be for me but there's definitely an audience for it.
i saw black desert online playing maegu class
Make it a modern OLED with variable flex (e.g. LG Flex 42) and I'm sold. However, I'm guessing that would be north of $4,000...
Can this monitor be used with G-Sync
I need one
I think I will need to buy a few ultrawide monitors that are not curved and stash them away. It's very difficult to find one that isn't curved nowadays. Thank goodness for LG. MSI still has one model floating around on their website that meets the specs that I want such as 1440p and 100Hz+. Majority are curved. It makes me nauseated. I tried to adapt, but I get physically sick due to the fishbowl effect.
W Monitor!
Ты крутой продолжай снимать в том же духе про!
What was the game he was playing with the long, white hair character?
I am really disappointed that Gen 2 did not include:
1.) Display port 2.1
2.) it’s 165Hz and not 240Hz
3.) Performance is still 1ms and not .4ms
Question: if HDMI 2.1 a or b is limited to 120Hz at 4K, how are we supposed to get this Gen 2 to perform to 165Hz @4K? Thanks!
Hub probably should also be able to be stored on the monitor stand so that it doesn't take up all that real estate.
Sometimes, too much is too much! Why you need to select 4 different inputs? I get multiple windows.
Proprietary hub kills it. KVMs aren't a new thing and most of them only need a cable or 2 to connect to a monitor.
