After you've programmed your backing tracks and click track, are you going to be using an iPad/Tablet/Phone or a Laptop to play the live backing tracks? Scott, this channel is amazing. I started following to watch your backing track tutorials. They are nothing short of stellar. You include detail that is necessary but most people don't include. Everything from hardware, to panning channels, to stereo/mono. I'm super grateful and am very impressed. Keep it up. This is gold.
Yo Scott - great videos! Would you be able to share your thought (or create a video), on how you mix the backtrack so that the volume is where it has to be? :)
@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks dude - just what I needed! How do you play with the helix live? Do you do mono or stereo, and why? There are really different opinions on this subject, tho I play that old school 80’s rock with big amps and big guitars. In the studio i love the stereo sound of with headphones, but would be stupid to make my helix in stereo for live performance? Cheers
Lets say I want to create 4 backing tracks and clicks this week in one project and the next week I create 3 song new backing tracks and clicks in a new project for the week and would like to use one track from last week track that I created. How would I do it? Copy and pate the tracks files or is there any other way to do?
Midi? I usually write in the midi myself. I know cc49 triggers the first button on my hx stomp. So I’ll add midi data at measure 5 to send cc 49 on channel 4.
Hey man great video and great backing track if you need any mixing and recording tips I do a lot of them on my channel and I do backing tracks tips to so if you need any tips on recording and mixing I do a lot of it and keep making great music and keep recording and mixing man it’s sounding great and your doing a great job keep up the great work man
Do you know how to use logic in "performance" mode. I mean... i have a band when use multitracks and backing tracks to fill up those empty spaces What i want to do is be able to click on "chorus" (per say) tell the band we are repeating the chorus and in the end of the chorus section Logic goes back to that bar. You get me ?
The only way I could think of to do that is to set a midi command (or key command) to turn on the Loop feature. That would be my guess, and I would start there, but I honestly don't know.
John Trujillo so if you want to do that what you will have to do in Logic is use the arrangement button and then typ in how many times you want that part of the song to play and then typ In when you play to look up on line how to use the arrangement in Logic Pro x in loop mode
You could do it that way, but I would recommend that you bounce the file as a WAV so you don't have all those plug ins running life. Much easier on your computer to just send out WAV for click and WAV for tracks

thank you for this
When you’re adding those strings and synth sounds; are you using a midi controller?
Thanks
Yup yup 👍
@@ScottUhlMusic Thanks man!
Great
Any chance you would do a similarité tutorial with à Windows software ?
I’m a Mac guy, so no I won’t be. But ableton is available for windows and Mac 👍
How did you setup the output channel? Separating the click track with the backing tracks. Awesome video🙏🏼 thanks alot
In Logic set tracks to Output 1, and set click to Output 2
@@ScottUhlMusic got it! I’ve watched video 4B, thanks for this tutorial, very helpful🙏🏼

Why not just put all of them into one session? Either on your laptop or your iPad? And then just chose the songs you want to play
What app do you recommend for Android for an MP3 playback? For live guitar instrumental backing.
I honestly don't know because I don't own any Android devices, sorry. But I'm sure there is something.
I use a Samsung tablet with the Backing Track Studio app for mp3 playback. Works very well.
So what interface are you using to record your MIDI tracks?
Midi? I usually write in the midi myself. I know cc49 triggers the first button on my hx stomp. So I’ll add midi data at measure 5 to send cc 49 on channel 4.
@@ScottUhlMusic - I mean, is it just a midi keyboard? And if so, which one do you recommend?
I like akai ones personally 👍

The comedic timing of 01:18 is uncanny
😅
So you don't actually need to mix the whole project.... You just need a proper balance of the tracks!.....?
You could do it that way, but I would recommend that you bounce the file as a WAV so you don't have all those plug ins running life. Much easier on your computer to just send out WAV for click and WAV for tracks
