If you want to learn how to play your favorite songs on guitar, improvise solos, or practice for an upcoming gig, you're going to need to use backing tracks. The problem is that most of the backing tracks you find online just don't have the same magic as real songs do. In this video, I'll show you how an app called Moises allows you to create guitar backing tracks for any song you want!

I've been playing with this app for a couple of weeks. It is pretty dang amazing learn bass tracks of songs. A real game changer to learn those super complicated (bass, guitar, drum) parts of songs.

Hi, if i subscribe for 1 month and convert a 6 min mp3, can i still play the 6min mp3 after the subscription ?
Unless you need to process a LOT of songs, Melody ML is actually cheaper since you buy credits and can use them at your leisure. I liked Moises (use it for drumming) but I found that I would process a couple of songs and then go several weeks without needing to do another, was basically leaving money on the table.
If Moises came up with a credit system comparable to Melody ML then I'd use it because I do enjoy the app.
@@asarcadyn2414 Hey there! It's not possible to upload separate tracks and put them together in the app, at this time. You have to upload a song and the tracks will be separated by the app.

Extremely cool. Back in 1990 I was part of an attempt to use plain old electronic filtering to try to decode songs and of course it could only do so in a rudimentary fashion with a lot of dedicated, expensive hardware. While a lot of people are scared about the dangers of AI, they are confusing generalized AI with specialized AI. This app is an example of specialized AI and you can see these applications of AI are revolutionary. Downloaded and now I know what I'll be doing all weekend!

All knives can be dangerous but, obviously, specialist knives are not - unless they are specialised to kill, maim or gut you. Strange logic, especially when marketed as factual imformation.
Just tried it after it being mentioned on a guitar related Facebook page. Amazed at how good it is. Blown away by the key change function. I did not believe it had worked until I tried playing along. Seriously thinking about paying for a years sub. A bit worried they will double the price after a year once I’ve started relying on it!

truely awesome app....imagine if these tools were available back in 72 to 75/78 and beyond i would have been able to battle the discouragement for sure.....now at 64 i'm learning for free at home....i got to get a better bigger inside phone

Back in the 90’s I used midi file backing tracks in my duo doing pubs and clubs, if I had this back then it would have changed my life lol
Right, downloading general midi and trying to improve/create a decent backing track was often hit and miss!

I've had this app on my phone for quite a while, but I haven't used it. I think I've been missing out. Thanks for this video. But I have question: does Moises work with streaming apps (Spotify, etc.)?

Hi, I play Hawaiian music and sometimes there are just songs /recordings . I can’t find tracks for them will it work with just the recorded song . If so that would be so awesome . Thank you

Very nice little app with a real good fuction all over...BUT!! the sound out where real bad unfortunately

I used it. Support took two months to respond. The software was poor quality.
What should be up front: free users 5 files for max 5 minutes per month. Good for 3 days after which expire. Does not say if you can repeat same file. Limited features. Next level something like $3/month. Still limited. “Advance features “ $24/month or 3 cents an hour
Yucch. Not interested (if I rehearsed rock guitar with backup tracks every day, or as part of my way of making a living, it'd be worth it. But not otherwise).
I have the app and a monthly subscription. Unfortunately the app does not separate guitar and keys. Many songs I play have both.
I don't think there is anyone that hasn't been looking for this app
What does it really cost?
If it puts out clean audio without artefacts and also extracts harmony voice and (which is not the case in the free version) I'd consider buying

Pretty cool but how does one get music files these days? I haven't messed with flac and such since Napster days. Can you download from Spotify or similar?

Ok, I started to bitch about pitch issues with lots of prerecorded songs being recorded in different tunings, and later in the video that IS addressed. So I’ll sthu now and look into the app👍🏼

You can take files from iTunes. Just not from a streaming app like Apple Music or Spotify.
I hope they’ll make hi-Fi for mobile. It’s only available for desktop/pc currently. 😢
Tried it out yesterday on a song that only contained drums, bass and guitar. Removed the guitar and the resultant bass is almost non existent. Muddy and very low level, and I can still hear the guitar as well. Sorry, but based on that, I see no improvement on what else is on offer and for free.

No, that would require AI. This thing is only performing frequency separation.

Mate ,I don’t like getting ripped off. I have subscription to Apple Music. So I thought I had bought the track I wanted to do Moises on .Nope ….i was instructed to buy the track from iTunes.WHAT? AND buy the track in question twice.Has anyone else noticed this?
I get nervous when the "download" is free, but they don't show the cost.
I have had this for over a year. 1st yr was like $20 and I renewed at $45/yr. Totally worth the price of admission. The free version is very, very limited

Well I tried it. I did the free version but you cant seperate the guitar out on the free version and also it cut the song off before the end so I expect there is a limit to how long the song can be. It would have been better if you had explained that rather than getting everyone excited about something that you can't really test properly if you are a guitarist and you want the entire track minus the guitar, which I expect is what most of us want. I wouldn't mind paying if it works but I can't tell how well it would work. Also there is a massive hike between the basic pay version and the pro version. So what doesn't work in the basic pay version? Seeing as you are their advertiser how about going into the detail of these payment plans and do everyone a favour.
There's a free audacity plugin that works 😊
iirc the free version let's you upload/download to separate only 4 or 5 songs a month and only songs with a 5 minute limit...at least that was my experience
Maybe not the owness of the 'advertiser' but the 'installer' of the app. I just installed the app and simple reading before clicking informed me that a 5 minute length is offered on the free version, with a 4 track maximum. I additionally heard him inform us that there is a 'free' version and an 'upgrade' version again informing the installer and user that they need to read and choose their option.

I thought iTunes was dead,replaced by Apple Music. If I have a subscription to Apple Music which I have , then when I download a song I always thought ,well it’s mine ,on my devices until I stop the subscription. Now this app wants me to buy the song again? I would rather craft my own backing track roughly in GarageBand for free,and play the lead or sing or whatever. That way my version will be a true cover. If anyone wants to practice the lead or singing to any track why don’t you find it on RUclips for free and play along or sing along or bass along ? Why do you have to remove the thing you want to play? That’s only the beginning of my concerns for the validity of this app.

Hey there, you can add songs you may have on your cloud storage service, songs from iTunes, your camera roll, and the Files in your device.
Use screen capture for you device to use whatever tracks you would normally stream.

Unfortunately guitar track separation is (now?) in the premium tier, so the free version is kind of useless for me.
Not sure what the deal was when this first posted 9 months ago, the video implies that it is free.
Today, sure, the download is free. And you can demonstrate how it works on one of your songs *that you upload*
It separates out the voice only, for free.
The desirable features of separating out the different instruments, as shown in the video, require a payment of $39.99. Sheesh.
So,
A) be aware that what he’s showing is a $40 app, not free
B) I’d probably have been ok with $40 if I wasn’t led to believe it was free! Crap!

I am a professional musician and my single act is based on backing tracks. I have been a paid subscriber to Moises AI for almost 2 years. I haven't used it in over a year. They automatically renewed my subscription.....Maybe had to cancel it, but I was not notified prior. Could be my fault and I accept that. But the reason I am pissed is because it does not work as advertised. Every song had latent vocals on other tracks. Rendered the whole track useless. The other tracks were very garbled and unusable. There is not enough separation of the instruments. Try playing lead electric guitar in a song without the rhythm guitar playing....or having to sing without any bgs or harmonies. It is a great idea that falls short.....by a long shot. Certainly not professional quality.
I wish I would have spent my money on backing tracks at Karaoke Version. In fact, that's where I get my backing tracks from now. The songs are fully tracked and you can even mix them. Sorry Moises, Your product is Mickey Mouse.
