What was your favorite Moses Malone moment?
Great job Chris
I don't have just one. Rather it's anytime he was getting buckets & MAD offensive rebounds in Sixers or Rockets uniform!!🏀🏀🏀
I'm too young , I couldn't witness how great he was, but now I know it.
4 4 4
And the 81 Finals Rockets team he got busy
The old Moses poster
He was the Chairman of the Boards for a reason! Respect!
Chairman of the boards who also gave u 25-31 ppg in his prime. Who else has done that or better? Only a guy named Wilt.
@@Amick44 A player named Walt Bellamy accomplished that once, and that was only in his rookie year when he averaged 31 ppg and 19 rpg.
@@tylerhingleton8493 yes he did. Bells first 3-4 seasons he put big #'s.
Moses did it for many seasons. As did Wilt, of course.
Moses helped ease the league’s transition from Kareem to Bird/Magic as its face
So true. And no one ever points that out. But you.
ABA KING it was amazing when him and Dr.J
Videos like this are what makes you the goat Chris ✊🏾
He isnt
Chris, thank u for this one. Love Moses.
more impressive rebounder than rodman, he couldn't just focus on rebounding and defense, moses blocked shots gave you 20 points AND dominated the boards
He wasn’t the defensive player Dream was.
Dream’s career average for blocks was 3.1.
@@SmartDave60 the OP never said he was. Then again, Dream was never the boardman Mo was.
T.H.E.O.R.Y. I know that’s why I brought it up.
Dream was a scorer and a great defensively.
moses was the best OFFENSIVE rebounder of all time. id give dennis the nod for defensive rebounding.
@@T.H.E.O.R.Y. tell it T.
Chris, great video for this legend. Fo, fo, fo!!
underrated video.
I remember being 8 years old in 1988 and getting a moses malone card and looking at the back at the career stats and seeing he had like 20 years of puttin up stupid numbers... I had respect for Moses malone since then and still think he's the best pf of all time...
Moses Malone was a beast!
Moses is in my top 15 all time. Extremely underrated.
Yo Chris this is Fire keep it coming!
Well said my brother..i first saw him in the ABA....at the Nassau colesium against the new york nets...he was raw but this young man could run......moses Malone charman of the boards....one of the greats...peace
Moses Malone taught Akeem Olajuwon post up and rebounding offense and defense.
I’m so glad I grew up in South Jersey, and got to watch Mosses play, really the whole team. Andrew Tony, Doc, Cheeks. The whole world knew we were going to win the championship as soon as we signed #2.
Pretty much. Julius Erving said he ran into M L Carr over seas. Said M L told him "you guys just won the championship." After signing Moses. He knew.
I could never really pick which Moses was better.. Houston or Philly? I mean where he belongs..
that could be part of why he's so underrated as well...tough to put him in one place.
As a teenager in Philly back then he was Everything to us
Intl_Roe feel like he gets overshadowed by dr J though. Even though people have Moses ranked higher all time.
@@futurekillerful true on both counts. Doc got plenty of ink & coverage in his time. The nickname, style & playing in NY for a bit all contributed.
He won two MVPs and put up his best numbers as a Houston Rocket, so...
Great video and great series! Shedding some light on some often ignored all time greats is a great idea! Especially the last two, Penny, and now Moses. Great stuff!!!
About time you started doing these features man! Share the knowledge with the young bloods!
Great job Chris on the Chairman of the Boards Moses Malone.
I love clowning your “sources” Chris but this series you have here is a true gift to hoop fans. They need to know how good basketball has always been to appreciate it more.
COMBINED!!!
thank you for this.
Moses was **that close** to getting 'Lefty' Driesell an NCAA championship at the University of Maryland!
Legend
Amazing
Moses Malone and dr j..are the..most underrated players in the NBA and the 82 83 76ers are the greatest team ever...bar none....show me a better top five than..julius erving moses Malone..andrew toney...maurice cheeks and Bobby Jones....you can't....
that was a helluva team, for real.
@@laz0rama it was. Too bad Toney's feet failed him soon afterwards.
Moses was a beast
He is always on my All Time Starting 5
Certainly mid to late 70s to mid 80s. Nice run as top C. Comparable to anyone's.
moses is top 15 of all time (just ask bill simmons).....moses, elgin and bob pettit are my 3 most underrated players of all time.
Broussard ya da best!
Chris "You kids just don't know" Broussard
I like Moses Malone i am a younger generation but my father talk about how he dominated the 80s and make rebounds easily i like moses game
My favorite player all time
No Chris, most of them are not forgetting the facts you mentioned about Moses. They never knew them.
Fo' Fo' Fo'
But Chris, you also said Rodman is the greatest rebounder ever...so which one is it?
FO FO FO
Petersburg stand up!
Okay here’s a pitch for the “maybe” pile for another video....
Muggsy Bogues. I mean you’ve got to be pretty good to be 5’3 to play in the NBA (and a starter nonetheless). Just tossing that out there for a “maybe”.
Sorry Uncle C,I only know him because of NBA Street Vol 2 😔🍻🍺
Moses malone after he retired is now Post malone.
👍👍👍
Moses has a case to be better then lebron and maybe 10th all time rebounding plus scoring is extremely underrated he controlled the game
Case to be better than who?
The 81 Rockets were a sub 500 team and Mo pretty much carried that team to the finals. Hung with Boston for 4 games, but they were just to good.
We gotta put some respect on Tim Duncan Name and David Robinson name
No need to yell
An* NBA trailblazer.
Man Moses was…. Just ask Kareem
I know how good MOSES MALONE was!
So do opposing teams!
This saying y'all young bucks have, when y'all say, "Put Some Respect On That Man's Name",,, Well the league, as it is today would have NO ANSWER for him! He'd give you 30 and 20 a night and wouldn't nearly have to work as hard as he did back in the day....
Yeah, whatever team he played for they'd have to find answers cuz naw, he ain't chas'in 3 pt shooters, but he gon get the minutes regardless cuz you ain't comin in the paint thinking he's gonna take a charge, an he gon give you 30 points and 20 boards a game....
Perfect answer for these guys who think D-Rod, and KG are the best in the lane.
RUclips Big MO and watch the magic for those that STILL don't know....
HOW GOOD WAS MARK PRICE
And chris speaks as if dr j wasnt old at that time like
Chocolate Thunder
But that was darryl Dawkins...
Fo for fo...lol
Fo, fo ,fo
Shows u how kareem is overrated
NEVER underestimate how & what college u went to & accomplished there affects the respect u get in the pros. Kareem built a legacy at UCLA, as did Walton. Moses totally had to earn his stripes in the pros.
Kareem overrated?? Basketball is just not your thing...
To be fair
He swept the lakes when they were injured.
I like moses but those Lakers would have gave it to them if they were healthy.
They were only missing James Worthy, who was only in his second year in the league. Probably wouldn't have made that much of a difference. Sixers would've probably still won it in 5.
@@kevincwatson6922true statement
Well shaq got ripped off of one mvp and Kobe got ripped off like 4 times
Jordan too, should've gotten every one after bird and magic retired
@@lyricistproductions2174 and Moses could've had a few more as well.
He might have more mvp then Kobe and Shaq but how many rings he got
Ok but he carried those ordinary Houston teams. Only til he got to Philly did he have serious help. And that wasn't for very long. No comparison to Kobe & Shaq. None.
Moses Malone a great player, but Kobe Bryant was the greatest Skilled player ever in the NBA history.
Michael Campbell ...The late, great Kobe Bean Bryant played in a much softer league then.
@@brucescott4261 what do league play have to do your skills set? Kobe Bryant would have been a killer in any NBA era. Kobe Bryant was was raised around the NBA and Professional basketball his entire life. Michael Jordan played in a tough era with Magic, Kareem Bird and Isiah Thomas, Kobe Bryant mindset would have allowed him to play in that 80's era.
I feel offended when he says You kids, like we are some mushrooms grown up after the last rain.. Today's nba is better then 70 80s,stop this insanity
should not be offended, when he says “you kids” he is criticizing how over time the MEDIA has distorted the greatness of some players, in other words chris is saying the younger generation has no chance of knowing for example how incredible moses was, he is NOT faulting today’s youth for not knowing too much about moses
@@elai3147 you are right 100% I just got it wrong. Thanks for making this clear to me
@@harlequin7735 The modern era is better than the 70s, because in the 70s there were two leagues ( ABA and Nba )
But the modern era is not better than era of Michael Jordan.
@@allanhouston6759 1000% agree. The physicality and toughness they had in da 90s is unique
Shooting today is way better
Today is a hybrid of Euroleague ball Malice in the Palace is probably the reason I like it
I think they should at least bring hand checking back though
