SiriusXM Top 40 Countdown brought me here. When they were counting down Feb 26, 1983, it was the first time I heard this since I was 8 months old that summer, talk about obscurity. Pia looked very HOT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.
Lol. Me too, first time I ever heard this. Never heard this song or any of Pia Zadora's music at the time (I was in middle school). This is mildy catchy. Some of her other stuff, well, if I can't say anything nice, I won't.
This was one of my favorite songs when it came out and I'd thought this was originally her song. Didn't realize it had been covered over and over including by Belle Stars the year before this one came out.
This bad news is like...the third weirdest thing I've seen on RUclips today. And I'm still trying to reboot my brain from the sheer "What in the WORLD is this?!" Even by 80's standards, this is just bizarre.
She was pretty hot in those days. I actually liked her performance in Butterfly, and she sang the theme song in that very well. Home girl had looks and talent.
It's tough being the age where when you hear someone call out "369" and you aren't sure whether to answer with "The goose drank wine" or "Damn girl fine."
Just meant Pia recently at a performance here in Palm Springs California got my picture taken with her and got to chat with her for a bit and she spoke and sang some of her songs and it was amazing
I love her but she made some inappropriate career choices. This video mixes children and sexuality, her Butterfly movie was about incest, what was she thinking?
Pia Zadora is one of the truly beautiful women of Music and Pictures! I first saw her work back in the 80's but still remembered her now 2023 A lot of stupid people say not so but, am I going to believe them or my own eyes! 😀😃😘 A fan forever in East Los Angeles 💞
She played in the diary of Anne Frank- A theater critic stood up halfway through when the Nazis were trying to find out where they were. He stood up in the audience and said “they are in the attic!” 😂💕
4/10 for me. The beat’s not too bad, but my god, why choose to cover THIS song out of all tunes!? Can’t believe it even made it into the Top 40. Peaked at No. 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1983. Pia can’t really sing too well. LOL.
There's no such thing as a "racst "trope."" Anything about Afrca would be "racst" to people like you. Give it a rest already. Grow up and drop the wokenonsense.
Granted she wasn't everyone's cup of tea and her sugar daddy opened some doors for her, but Director John Derek did the same for Bo. Good for them. Use what you got, that's called field expedience. I don't see a need for personal attacks against someone who was just trying to get along in life, like we all are.

Same!
Me too!!!!!!😂

This is BRILLIANT! Although I'm flashed about the percussions and vocoder voices, Pia keeps this song really alive. Grat number, even after 40 years.
What is "brilliant" about it?
Forty years later, this song cascades to the present in 2023!
I am an 80's child. I just heard this song on sirius radio for the first time. What a classic.

I was so happy to see Pia in the original Hairspray film! I hope John Waters puts her in his next film in a big role

Watch her video that was set in a public restroom. That's even weirder and more cringe.
She was pretty hot in those days. I actually liked her performance in Butterfly, and she sang the theme song in that very well. Home girl had looks and talent.
As an actress Pia Zadora is an excellent singer . . .
I cannot lie. I bought this single in 1983. 😊
LOL, I bought the album. 😄
You could lie. 😀

I'm watching "The Lonely Lady" and she's super cute and really pretty, wth great hair
Love that movie
I grew up in the 80s and yet I don't remember hearing it until today. This is a catchy tune.
It’s not hers
i remember the ryme of this song as a small child i was 8 years old ion 1968
I miss stuff like that.
I never saw that video.
So this is what became of the little green girl from Santa Claus Concurs the Martians!
Anxiety Entertainment Santa Claus Conquers the Martians 😃
@@millieguerra3446 I concur!
So what happened to the dress she wearing in the beginning of video?
This is ridiculous
Just meant Pia recently at a performance here in Palm Springs California got my picture taken with her and got to chat with her for a bit and she spoke and sang some of her songs and it was amazing
Epic cringe.
A testament that Poles and Eggplants don’t mix well.
Like she even wanted the stupid rubber dolly . . .
her only top 40 hit - she did not last -
One of the best clips of the 1980's.
I love her but she made some inappropriate career choices. This video mixes children and sexuality, her Butterfly movie was about incest, what was she thinking?
I think The Lonely Lady answered that question perfectly.
Different times, different mores...
Probably her husband (30 years older?) at the time... anyway, let's hope people don't know (we're not famous) or remember all our far cups! 😂
What does this song mean? I also liked the Belle Stars version, by the way.
I think its just a children's nursery rhyme song that was remade into a pop song several times.

Love this Girl.
YESSSSSSSSSSSS Love this video!!!!!!!!
Let's get a whole bunch of people singing over her voice so that it will be hidden in the mix. I wonder why.
WTF!!!!
Pia Zadora born in Hoboken, New Jersey.
the lady who tore down Pickfair! boo!
No. 1-Superstar in Germany - forever.
She played in the diary of Anne Frank- A theater critic stood up halfway through when the Nazis were trying to find out where they were. He stood up in the audience and said “they are in the attic!” 😂💕
Wtf
NO ONE does this song like Shirley Ellis.
Sorry
I bought this song!
In an alternate timeline, Madonna wouldn't have been discovered and Pia Zedora would've been the fashion/Pop icon of the 80s and beyond!
Pia-zadorable!
35 years ago I would have been her king and her my queen.

Definitely one of those forgotten obscure one hit wonders.
She was nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female. I kid you not.
Wow, so many racist tropes in a single video.
It was the 80s.
I see none.

Shove off with the woke-nonsense. Nothing "rcst" about it. So tired of you radicalwackos.
There's no such thing as a "rcst trope" (who even uses the word "trope"?). Give it a rest already.
No matter what she does or who her husband paid, she's just not a star. Super tired hack.

You could have gotten Yoko idiot Onna.
She looks a little like Tina Turner.
