You know my grandma still mails me hot wheels from where she lives as Christmas gift. Now that’s some wholesome gift for a car guy. That’s the best gift for me 😉
I'd say it is most useful to put in a glove box of a car or in a backpack. A place where you wouldn't bring a full socket set. If used correctly it should work well enough, though they have issues with over torqued or rusted bolts. Universal sockets also surprisingly work well on rounded nuts and bolts.

My great aunt that lives in England gave me a cool classic painting of a Rolls Royce for christmas when she came over some years ago, she remembered that I really liked cars when I was a young boy. Got the autozone detailer bucket when I was a detailer car guy, terrible like that's what I do for a living, now that I don't detail and am still a car guy..... best ever
Best "car guy" gift I've ever received: a pen flashlight, but the light part extends (like a good 2-3') and is magnetic. I can never get my hand down in the engine bay for that inevitable dropped nut/bolt and that thing is GOAT (and like fairly cheap too!)
The Amazon Auto is one of the best birthday gifts I've received, hear me out. Having an older car that doesn't have built in Bluetooth this allows me to play music in my car seamlessly. I just turn on my car and it automatically bluetooths to my phone, without a bunch of setting up every time I get in. Also much much cheaper than buying an aftermarket stereo, it's only like $20 I believe. Very useful product indeed
A rescue knife is actually a brilliant idea. Not that you want to use it ever, but my dad had the chance when he flipped an ambulance on its roof to cut the seatbelts (you can not open them hanging upside down since you are putting pressure on the lock), and smash the windows to safely climb out of the vehicle. The whole family carries knives with this functionality, and I'm thinking of getting a nicer one.
As someone who flipped a jeep liberty on a blind turn and ended up upside down in the middle of the road. You remember you have a seat belt cutter really fast. You can't just bounce up and down to loosen the tension on the buckle.

A universal socket (was given to me as a Christmas present) saved my boyfriend and I, when we went to pick up a set of wheels. (it was a pull it yourself situation) Didn’t have the lug nut socket and clearance around the lug nuts was basically nonexistent. Took a little effort but we got them off with no scratches! Definitely not something used a lot but very helpful in odd situations lol
The universal socket has helped in the weirdest ways in my life. They are by no means durable, but, as long as you have a spare for those random lugnut issues and other moments where their's some odd shaped "nut" that needs to be removed, you'll be stoked you spent the 10 bucks on having a couple around. 👍🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
The universal socket is a decent idea for around the home repairs, but it isn't truly meant for cars. I've seen videos op people using them for fasteners really torqued down and it breaks the pins that hold the bolt in place when you try to break them free. On the other hand, I've installed some hooks and eye bolts into the rafters in my parents' basement for hanging stuff (after predrilling the hole for it) and it makes driving in weird things like that easier.
I had one of those universal sockets and I loved it. It saved a lot of time and annoyance when every single bolt on whatever part/s you're removing or putting on is a different size. I hear a lot of crap about them being shit quality and breaking or stripping bolts but mine never did and was durable as hell. I can't remember what brand it was but it definitely was high quality. I don't even know how I acquired it, it was just there one day. Nearly cried when I couldn't find it one day and never saw it again.
I love my phone mount, it's a magnetic one, u put a small metal thing in ur phone and the car mount is rly small and u can put it anywhere, works great!
7:40 I can verify what Nolan's saying from my experience upside down in a car that only in the most specific situations would you need something like that. When I flipped, I just unbuckled my seatbelt, put the car in park (not fun upside down), turned it off, opened up the door, got out, and me and my buddies put it upright (I'll never forget one of my friends ignoring me and going strait to see if the reese's pieces bucket in the backseat was alright). Although, the car in particular was just a little Aveo, and since its so small and light, the roof barely crumpled and the body as a whole was in decent shape for a flipped car. I guess if the car was heavy enough and impacted something else in the right way, the door/doors might be damaged enough it might not open, but the glass would probably be damaged too, so you could just break it. Anyway, there's my dumb teenager experience and knowledge to whoever needed it

I got the same Porsche lego set, can confirm it was sweet
I've got it too. Planning on getting the bigger one too so I can line up my hot wheels Porsche, the mini Lego one and the big one. Gonna have a shrine dedicated to the 930 lol
8:49- " i can pretend that's my shifter"
Tesla guys going wait a min we have a thing for that....lolz
I got my cousins husband, a long time mechanic, a 10mm emergency socket kit set. I hope he liked it.
I actually love that you can hear the film crew laugh in the background of these.
As someone that has every Lego Speed Champions since 2019 and a few older ones too, the best.
The set just falling apart behind them is just great 😆
That car care kit is a major winner. To be honest, if I'm gonna get that for someone it will be chemical guys all the way. Mother's aluminum polish is good for wheels and toolboxes too. If you're good you can use it on old pitted headlight covers too lol
That universal socket is like an absolute last resort but it's worked when i needed it to
As one of the first owners of the Bugatti razor, I can confirm that it's kinda gimmicky but also REAL nice
Same here, on sale it’s probably more feasible
Nolan called it a beanie\ hoodie, James called it a hat. I've also heard it called a toboggan, curious to what everybody thinks this headgear should be called?!? I've always called it a beanie.
Kimsmart diecast cars are pretty good car guy gifts.
Im glad that the monolist is getting festive.
The last gift was the best!! I'd love to get a project car!!!
