What's kinda great about this is Mike Trout wore #2 as a little leaguer because he loved Derek Jeter. He was his childhood hero and now he gets to bat him home in the ASG. I find that pretty amazing.

I've been watching the Yankees regularly since the early 90's, and there's not one other player that I loved to watch more than Derek Jeter.
He almost always had a short conversation with the catcher, sometimes with both players smiling.
His routine of stepping into the box, and nodding at the pitcher once he's ready.
That inside out swing was a thing of beauty.
I've never seen a player that can just will his team into winning.

Can't stand simpletons who want to bash jeters play defensively. Stats don't mean anything in baseball.
I know the guy didn't have much range, but his talent and effort made up for that. I watched him every game for years and he rarely made an error or a mistake. Even if he didn't have the best range.. he made up for that.
