@MANCHESTER UNITED This prediction has been made 20 times in the last 100 years, and has been wrong every time. Maybe this time you'll be right. I like soccer/football; I enjoy the Euro Cup and the World Cup every time they roll around. It's possible to enjoy and be a fan of both sports. And neither sport is better or worse than the other. It's not really a comparison that can be drawn. I mean, in baseball, the team on defense possesses the ball, the only sport where that's true. In soccer, the clock never stops, the only sport where that's true. In baseball there is no clock, the only sport where that's true. In soccer, pretending to be injured is a part of the game, and there are players who are great ONLY BECAUSE they are great at pretending to be injured (e.g Cristiano Ronaldo) the only sport where that's true.
Neither sport is better than the other, and the two are totally different.

Growing up playing baseball in New York City, Derek Jeter and the game of baseball as a whole were synonymous. It was like having a role model to show you how to play your favorite game the right way in front of your eyes. As a college shortstop now, there is no question I would not be the player and person I am without this man showing me every day watching games as a kid how to do it the right way. To all who grew up watching him play in the city, Derek Jeter was baseball.

My favorite Jeter play was when he threw the ball to Posada to get Giambi out. That wasn't even his position, how did he have the instinct to be there in that play? They still missed many . During the 2000 WS, when the Mets Ziele hit a ball that hit the top of the left field wall, and the Mets Timo Perez, (on 2nd base), watches the ball thinking it was a HR, and gets a late start running home that would have tied the game (b-8, i think),
And Jeter caught a bad throw from the left fielder and gunned out Perez while running towards the 3rd base dugout,
It was Absolutley amazing, It was almost as good as the flip throw

In Jeter's final game at Yankee stadium, in the top of the ninth inning the Yankees had a 5-2 lead and it appeared that it would be just a conventional Yankee win. However, good fortune prevailed to Jeter's benefit and Baltimore tied the game 5-5 with two home runs. Jeter's walk-off hit was not a home run, but his signature single to right field. I just think that God meant this to be.

That' statement is kind of misleading as is.. For those who don't know, 2001 was the first time the playoffs dragged on past October (due to 9/11). And the name is a reference to Mr October aka Reggie Jackson.
