@MANCHESTER UNITED This prediction has been made 20 times in the last 100 years, and has been wrong every time. Maybe this time you'll be right. I like soccer/football; I enjoy the Euro Cup and the World Cup every time they roll around. It's possible to enjoy and be a fan of both sports. And neither sport is better or worse than the other. It's not really a comparison that can be drawn. I mean, in baseball, the team on defense possesses the ball, the only sport where that's true. In soccer, the clock never stops, the only sport where that's true. In baseball there is no clock, the only sport where that's true. In soccer, pretending to be injured is a part of the game, and there are players who are great ONLY BECAUSE they are great at pretending to be injured (e.g Cristiano Ronaldo) the only sport where that's true. Neither sport is better than the other, and the two are totally different.
Growing up playing baseball in New York City, Derek Jeter and the game of baseball as a whole were synonymous. It was like having a role model to show you how to play your favorite game the right way in front of your eyes. As a college shortstop now, there is no question I would not be the player and person I am without this man showing me every day watching games as a kid how to do it the right way. To all who grew up watching him play in the city, Derek Jeter was baseball.
My dad was at the game where Jeter went flying into the stands. A moment he will never forget. An absolute legend and a treat to have witnessed in the flesh.
The last real true baseball player, Derek Jeter. Played ever day, hustled on every play, didn’t get in to any nonsense on or off the field. Never a doubt about “PED” use. A true gentleman, a fine ball player and a great Hall of Famer!
Couldn't have said it better myself, he was my favorite baseball player of all time. Great hitter, class act and never took PEDs. Always hustled and had a knack for hitting in the clutch. My favorite Jeter play was when he threw the ball to Posada to get Giambi out. That wasn't even his position, how did he have the instinct to be there in that play? I remember seeing that game on TV back in 2001 and will always remember that play.
Jorge Posada never received the proper acknowledgement from Any broadcaster for that shuffle play in Oakland. He was looking in the opposite direction from the runner, Giambi, and waiting for the ball from Jeter. Jorge relied on his instincts to reach back and apply the tag not seeing where the runner was. An amazing play by Jorge Posada.

I can't believe I know this guy! I played 4 years of AAU basketball with Jeter with the Kalamazoo Blues. Facts.
Thank god for Derek Jeter
The night Derek hit that walk off single to win his final home game, I was still trying to get over him hitting a home run to get his 3,000th hit. He came through EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Derek Jeter is why I take so much pride in being a Yankee fan.
One of a kind 5 rings say everything your the man go yankees
Yankees 1996 through 2000 were 1 of the Most Exciting Sports Teams...The Vibe was totally different...1 Clutch hitter after the other from Top to bottom...And Jeter the "Captain" was right in the Middle of it all
