“But I won’t tell a word of a lie how I started writing it. Singing in the studio waiting for everyone to turn up er, Dazed and Confused front cover on the wall because we had them framed and there happened to be one of Graham on the wall, and I wrote it looking at it. It was definitely inspired by Graham and missing him.” -Damon Albarn
This song feels like a comforting arm around you as you cry, an arm of somebody you love. Handing you tissues, and listening to you if you want to vent, if not, asking if they can cook you your favourite food

This song is so hard to listen to.Brings up a weird feeling of peace combined with the frustration of a failed love. And the end, where that crazy sound comes in, just so powerful in a way that I will never be able to explain how. Congrats Damon Albarn for your talent of touching such sensitives strings..

There was another significant band I can’t remember the name of. They and Blur had quite a famous rivalry for a while. Damn what were they called this is going to drive me crazy.
I was being sarcastic of course I’m aware of oasis. The subtle point I was making is that Oasis and Blur were of the same generation. Oasis were the bigger and better band hence they were the best of that generation.
I was so wrong hating on Think Tank only because Graham didn't participated, honestly, so wrong. This song proves that this is a great album. This song is a masterpiece with all the letters
This album is amazing in its own way! Just another step for them, this song proves they weren't just co-workers or something like that. All of them were (and are) really friends.
Loved this song 5 or so years ago, made a new main playlist 2 years later and somehow missed adding this one. Been relistening to Blur's discography and I couldn't believe I had forgotten of this song's existence. These lyrics hit so much harder now. It's never leaving my playlist again.
I have always thought that Damon has always had a great sensitivity and intelligence about his writing and singing. I think he learned that the caricature that he created in the 90s was simply not real, and did not suit who he was- look now at some of his contemporaries from that era, they are stuck and forever condemned to the cliches of that era . Damon isn’t and never has been stuck in that time- he has always evolved. I think it is to do with this insight and sensitivity you hear in this song.
Fun fact: this was the only song on the album to be produced (partly) by William Orbit. He was the guy who produced 13 and was famous (or infamous) for causing that album's large shift in sound from Blur's previous efforts.
The is the other song that helped me to mourn the death of Mia Nichelle Lee whom I loved from 1998 to 2010. Please if you have diabetes manage your condition with the help of your doctor.
@@johnharvey4448 I don't think so. Brothers And Sisters is quite the opposite of a junkie song. It literally says "Rebuild your lives". Damon had already given up on his unhealthy lifestyle at that point

Just saw Gorillaz in Bost, four people back from center stage - Damon jumped into the crowd and I was RIGHT there - he seemed to shake EVERYONE'S hands but mine. :( Left me wondering why he didn't like me - Was I too old? Did he find me funny looking? Was I not singing along enough? Did he hold it against me that I was wearing a Radiohead shirt? :(
this song gives me the feeling of watching the person you're attracted to have the most romantic moment of their lives with someone else. in the snow, near a car fire.
I just want to say i can't meet my bestfriend because of quarantine. Eventhough you're allowed to go outside wearing a mask her parents still don't allow her to go and we haven't met for 2 months. I really miss her because we shared the same views and had a lot in common in our personalities. I've never had it with someone before. And now because of the circumstances i can't see the only person who i truly need the most. We both didn't know when would be the last time of our meeting so this is makes everything even sadder. I think it has some parallel with graham and damon because graham started to appear on a studio more rare and when where was a last time he recorded with blur before leaving the band but same no one probably knew when would be the actual last time. Now i just listen to this song and battery in your leg and their lyrics has never been so close and so relatable for me as they are now
@maripicelli oh im so sorry about that i cried over the fact that i couldn't meet her and aslo listened to this song but eventually we met 2 or 3 weeks afters i wrote it and now we meet at least once a week so everything is fine again. I was afraid i was going to lose her because we couldn't communicate normally but now everything is good. I hope you will meet your friend soon ❤
I was like you 10 years ago I listened to them by a girl who I dated we used to discuse about britpop like Blur and Oasis and who is better I always was on Blur side she made me listened many of those songs was a good time and I miss her she's now married and looks so happy that makes me happy too.
The sound at the end creates a similar feeling like in the song "Put a battery in your leg". It just feels like someone in a rocket is leaving this earth, not knowing if they will ever come back again.

It perfectly compliments the song; a feeling of something falling apart
Damon and Graham the perfect bromance story
Damon Albarn later revealed that the song "Sweet Song" was written after he had been looking at a photograph of Coxon.

When your happy you enjoy the Melody but when your broken you feel the lyrics!🥺
the best song Damon has ever written. This is the sort of music that saves lives. Love you, Damon. Thank you for making music that I adore.
Definitely it's the best song of Think Tank album.
It's definitely the most heartfelt
But I'd argue that On The Way To The Club and Brothers and Sisters are the best songs the album has to offer (The Moroccan People one is up there too)
@@owlpacheyt7824 Brothers and Sisters can't be because it's junkie-ish. Battery In Your Leg is the best anyway.
Love the "Good Song" beat, but this is my very fave too.

One of my favorite songs ever. The full spectrum.
Rest In Peace, Uncle Ray. We'll miss you. This song is the only way I've been able to cope
