“The temple’s goal was to create a target that could kill multiple targets at once” Yeesh, the Assassinorum really went full overachiever to meet that initial thesis.
That's because the short didn't properly explain it. The reason they made the maerorus temple was because as good and powerful as the other assassins are they relied too much on stealth and the element of surprise and that once they lost those advantages they really weren't effective beyond that with their survivability rapidly decreasing, combined with the fact that even the eversor the one more oriented towards direct combat than the other assassins was far from a one-man-army and could be overwhelmed and killed not to mention that the temple assassins lacked versatility and were ultimately all one-trick ponies. That's why they created legientrasse they not only wanted a versatile assassin that didn't had to rely on stealth and the element of surprise to survive and achieve the temple's goals but that would also not fold the moment it faces heavy resistance and succeed in it's goals even if it failed the first time and the officio assassinorum can't afford to fail since last time it did the siege of Vraks happened

@Gio-vo3ft The Genestealers were actually in 40k before 'Nids were. They got rolled into the faction because it made sense. That's actually the scariest thing about the "Nids. If the Hive Mind finds something it likes, it Yoinks the idea and adds it to their arsenal. Genestealers are a good example. They started using spores after fighting Orks. They started using Tyrant Guards after fighting Astartes. This is why the 'Nids would win any "Them vs" competitions. They would adapt and incorporate whatever advantge their enemy had. If they fought Xenomorphs? The Genestealers can lay Eggs now. Oh and they can mass produce Xenomorphs (no host needed). She could smell it even though it was miles off; within the biomass was a collection of the genetic profiles of her targets and all their guards. While the Tyranid thing is a theory, it seems unlikely because they mention in the brief to Lysander on the thing that it was made some time ago because the Eversor who was overseeing the testing was wearing gear his temple hadn't been able to produce for some time, and Tyranids had only been known to exist for around 200 years by the time this assassin was killed.
Only known to exist on a broader scale. The 'Nids are from an entirely different galaxy , a galaxy they already stripped clean of biomass. No one has any clear idea when or even how they showed up exactly.
They also needed all those warriors togheter so they could keep tabs on each other and keep not only their companions but themselves in check, otherwise they would give in and ask if they could have the big goth monster lady's hand. So it was also a battle of wills. (I made this up)

So basically she is the mother of a new subspecies of humans especially if the offspring have genders and look like humans.
More likely the mother of a new Tyrannid offshoot.
How crazy do you have to be to even contemplate making something like this? They didn't make an assassin, they made a damn supersoldier for the Tyrannids.

That incident which maybe a big problem that can turn into an exterminatus level threat in time, but in the 40K universe, everyone forgot about it and moved onto the next Eldritch horror.
“The temple’s goal was to create a target that could kill multiple targets at once”
Yeesh, the Assassinorum really went full overachiever to meet that initial thesis.
They really should have been satisfied with the dudes with implanted nukes.
Ain't like hapless peasants are a scarce resource in the Imperium.
@@clothar23implanted nukes? There's no such a thing dude

well. these are females who work out and KNOW their look will only help them achieve a goal.... even real female spies in WW2 worked like that

Who could have possibly foreseen something like that going rogue? Absolutely out of nowhere, that.
So basically female version of alex mercer in 40k cool
She is going to make me Donna act up
Her: last words?

One correction - this event predates arrival of even scout splinters of tyranids. She or rather it was created with the help of kroot. Or worse...
So before Genestealers? Those things have been around a long, long time: well before any Tyranid incursion.
"Help"
@Gio-vo3ft The Genestealers were actually in 40k before 'Nids were. They got rolled into the faction because it made sense.
The in-universe explanation is that they're actually a native creature to a planet on the galactic rim. One of the first worlds the 'Nids landed on.
They fighting The Flood? They have Infection Forms now. Oh and can gain info from the minds from people they Nom.
@@thebighurt2495 here's the thing - it's informed ability. They fought Imperium for how long? And they still haven't developed reflective armor for their smallest grunts to counter lasgun...
@@thebighurt2495 a matchup against the tryranids only has a true chance with an equally capable adaptation mechanism. You mentioned the flood. A flood outbreak that had already grown for a while could become an adaptation arms-race if it ever fought the tyranids
I'm pretty sure the inquisition had a heart attack because of this thing.
Are…are we SURE the imperium isn’t suicidal? Because most of its actions seem pretty self destructive.
The Imperium wants to live. It's the idle hands within who are trying to kill it.
*makes so-so gesture*
Because some of the department like the assassinorum and Inquisition are filled with idiots who likes to do this kind of shit behind everybody's back even the primarchs. They preach about light of the emperor yada yada yada and exterminatus a whole planet just because one person saw chaos but they're the one doing heretical shit. Hoping with the return of The Lion..he and Guiliman must remove or censured these two department immediately
I love these Warhammer shorts. Makes you wanna hear or maybe see a animated series off it.
If she has the ability to lay eggs, that implies she has the ability to breed. That scares me more than anything.
Whip tailed lizards can reproduce on their own
*She was on a mission on a planet that had recently separated from the Imperium, aiming to help regain control of it by assassinating the rebel leaders*
*she looked out upon a balcony from which she planned to survey her next kill, yet… none were to be found. The rigid parts of her bone structure ached in an alien annoyance, for her prey seemed to have been stolen from her…*
*…until she looked upon a separate building and noticed a massive pile of flesh and bone. She could smell it even though it was miles off; within the biomass was a collection of the genetic profiles of her targets and all their guards. In front of the pile, staring directly at her, was an individual that seemed to be doing some sort of strange, insectoid mating dance to a song apparently called ‘Tommy the Cat.’*
*The success of this attempt has not been determined to this date.*
(No, a simple “BoIS HeAr mE oUt” would not have sufficed)
So she went rogue because she got some dick and learned there was more to life then killing?
Wtf did I just read?

For some weird ass reason, this reminds me so much of prototype (that game where you were just obliterating everyone with your mutant powers) cause the characters in that game also basically use their body and others as weapons.

How else would you be able to crossbreed? Mutants gotta look somewhat thicc
Because artists are heretics, they hate the Emperor. They hate his devoted people. They hate me. They're trying to get me to lose my chastity, but I never lose. Not so long as I devote myself to the Emperor. My body is his. I live to serve.

*turns into a sludge of biomass*
While the Tyranid thing is a theory, it seems unlikely because they mention in the brief to Lysander on the thing that it was made some time ago because the Eversor who was overseeing the testing was wearing gear his temple hadn't been able to produce for some time, and Tyranids had only been known to exist for around 200 years by the time this assassin was killed.
Only known to exist on a broader scale. The 'Nids are from an entirely different galaxy , a galaxy they already stripped clean of biomass.
No one has any clear idea when or even how they showed up exactly.
E g g s 💀
Pam: "But that's not even the best part!"
Doctor Krieger: "... It's *learning* "
First two nanoseconds and we all knew where this is going
Ending it with her being able to lay eggs basically is saying that though she is dead her brood still lives to kill another day.
They also needed all those warriors togheter so they could keep tabs on each other and keep not only their companions but themselves in check, otherwise they would give in and ask if they could have the big goth monster lady's hand. So it was also a battle of wills.
(I made this up)
So they made alex mercer in warhammer 40k love it
