The beautiful thing about Tina is that she was strong for the both of them. Even in Ike’s insecurities and weakness she pushed him and helped in ways to open up. This photoshoot is an example of that. She got Ike to lighten up by playing with him and joking around here and there so they can get the job done. Tina is an amazing woman, I don’t even think she realizes how POWERFUL she was then and now. ✨💕💕
Thats why it was so bad when he tried to defend himself against the movie. I get what he was trying to say..but he articulated it badly. I think had he lived longer into the social media era..where he or his kids could have did videos with him telling his side..things would have made a bit more sense abt their life. It was a violent power struggle. Tina always said "that limo day i was not in the mood for fighting" That quote always struck me as when she got fed up wit him..she put vaseline on her face..took the wig off..and gave him the work. Tina has this beautiful dress on, and Ike’s in the background holding the arms. Their relationship was brutal, but you can say that they did have chemistry when things weren’t bad
This video is part of their real history. Relationships go through ups and downs. They were together for almost twenty years so of course they had some good times. The negative is usually the focus, but I bet more good came out of their relationship than bad. For example their son and Tina's career.

It's like they knew the tension between them had to get switched to a more relaxed tone in front of people so they actually look like characters extra excited for a type of work they must have done thousand of times. Not a natural thing. They didn't even want to kiss, and Tina seemed like pushing Ike to the edge to see if he would keep his character.

Ike said she always threatened to leave and had multiple suicide attempts, which he felt she was doing for attention. He admitted to not being compassionate enough and taking her for granted. If he had been more generous during their divorce I don't think she'd be as resentful as she still is now.

It's a stage name Ike Turner made up. Her birth name is actually Martha Nell, not Anna Mae, but she doesn't talk about that. In the end she settled on keeping her stage name, but she also kept the songwriting royalties for songs she wrote, her two Jaguar cars, her furs and jewelry. She was in debt because she took responsibility for the cancelled concert dates. Her documentary is only going to tell the narrative she wants told, not the entire story. This was a year before their separation so I don't think they were actually happy. It's like they knew the tension between them had to get switched to a more relaxed tone in front of people so they actually look like characters extra excited for a type of work they must have done thousand of times. Not a natural thing. They didn't even want to kiss, and Tina seemed like pushing Ike to the edge to see if he would keep his character.

Tina claimed that she didn't love Ike. I believe she did and was really hurt that Ike didn't feel that way about her. Tina had some big issues especially' since her mother abandoned her since being a child. All Tina wanted was to loved. I get it! I just wouldv'e liked it if they would have parted on better terms and no abuse! Much love Tina still!
She contradicts herself. Tina said she was done talking about Ike years ago but she continues to exploit their dysfunctional relationship. Tina said repeatedly in her first book and in interviews that she was in love with Ike. She was more in love with him than he was with her. Ike said in his book that he loved Tina but he was in love with Ann Thomas, who he married after her. Tina said she had left him before their final blowout but she returned on her own. Ike said she always threatened to leave and had multiple suicide attempts, which he felt she was doing for attention. He admitted to not being compassionate enough and taking her for granted. If he had been more generous during their divorce I don't think she'd be as resentful as she still is now.
@@trevorzilno2686 what do you mean more generous in the divorce Tina has said multiple times that she didn’t want anything from Ike EXCEPT for her name she didn’t want his money or royalties but she just wanted her name that she worked for. Tina constantly talks about Ike because that is the notoriety of her which is her relationship with Ike she cannot help that people think of ike when they think of Tina. And if you also paid attention to her documentary the reason she came back to Ike is because she felt guilty as a victim because she didn’t want him to feel like she was using him. And if she is resentful she has every right to be he abused her and basically raped her mistreated her for years Ike gave her ptsd. Like Tina is literally a cautionary tale that people spread awareness about now with abusive relationship don’t discredit that and try to find cracks.

She worked hard with Ike for almost 20 years and rightfully wanted her fair share. The reason the divorce dragged out for over a year is because Tina wanted money. Tina Turner isn't even her name. It's a stage name Ike Turner made up. Her birth name is actually Martha Nell, not Anna Mae, but she doesn't talk about that. In the end she settled on keeping her stage name, but she also kept the songwriting royalties for songs she wrote, her two Jaguar cars, her furs and jewelry. She was in debt because she took responsibility for the cancelled concert dates. Her documentary is only going to tell the narrative she wants told, not the entire story. I recommend also reading Ike's book Takin' Back My Name.

Tina never mentioned any abuse until the 1980s to further her career. It garnered her sympathy. She loves playing the victim and it's profitable. It's not unusual for people to be resentful after a bitter divorce, but for someone who sells happiness like Tina it is contradictory. She left Ike over 40 years ago and he is deceased yet she still doesn't have a peace of mind. Tina could chose not to constantly rehash her relationship with Ike just like she chooses not to talk about her estranged relationship with her sons. Didn't you notice that none of her living family members participated in her documentary? Tina is a cautionary tale of all that glitters isn't gold. Even with her successes she's miserable and has lived an unhappy life.
I’m sure there were times when Tina enabled Ike to be ‘The Bad Guy’. They were also under influences & in altered states. Sadly, jealousy & selfishness may have crept in & ruined a great union.
People act as if they fought all the time. They were 2 human beings. She liked her life with him as a boss u didnt care for . U didnt wanna leave cuz u needed the work. And some days were better than others. She also recognized that Ike was sick. Cuz she did say he would cry in her arms and tell her hed change when hed wake up from a stooper and shed be feeding him soup

King said Ike was the best bandleader he ever saw. Little Richard was Ike good friend. He wrote the introduction to Ike's book. He said Ike gave him money to prevent his house from being foreclosed. Ike also helped alot of other people financially including Tina when she was a single teen mother. If he was so bad then why were his last 3 ex-wives friends with him? They all came after Tina too. One of them, Ann Thomas, even liked with Ike and Tina. Some people who knew Tina say she was violent. You've only been exposed to her narrative. There is more than one side to a relationship. Ike admittedly made mistakes, but Tina had her faults too.

She also said the first time she saw his body it reminded him of a horse. Those were her words. You should educate yourself on Tina's own volatile behavior. Ike was wrong and admitted his part, but Tina was an aggressor as well. She chose to stay with Ike for nearly 20 years and he was didn't have any legal history of abuse. Not one alleged incident was reported to authorities. Tina doesn't even associate herself with the black community so before you come to her defense about violence against black woman know that she she has always criticized black people while putting white people on a pedestal. She doesn't even communicate with her own black family.

Audrey Madison Turner attributes his volatile behavior to his bipolar disorder and Jeanette Bazzell Turner said he was not violent towards her. Ann Thomas was close to Tina and still married him after her. The fact that Ike was close friends with a few of his exes yet Tina is estranged from her own family speaks volumes. Keith Richards recalled one time when Tina knocked Ike around. He said she isn't someone to mess with. There are other stories about her physical aggression. Tina certainly had her volatile moments and she admitted that she had a bad temper.

They didn't have a typical romance, in fact their relationship was quite dysfunctional, but clearly she did love him and that's probably why she's still resentful.
