Both of these ladies have passed. Bobbie Wygant (the interviewer) passed this past February at the age of 97. Bobbie was a legend in her own right.

Don;t ask me why, but I've watched a bunch of these Ike'n'Tina shows these past coupla three or four days. They're brilliant, of course, but not until now did I appreciate what a great musician/band leader was Ike Turner. Shame, guess it was the coke what blew it all apart. Or he was a pr*ck.

My husband and I saw Tina perform in concert many years ago. Her “opening act” was Lionel Richie. All of the young girls in the audience knew each and every word to Lionel’s songs and even sang along with him. It was an evening that we shall always cherish!😊
