Does this model have to be calibrated before use every time? I've seen some guys doing some spinning of the drone around horizontally and then vertically PRIOR to flying. Any experience with this? Thank you for your time.

haha yeah true but the range is just rated, not always practical - depends on where you're flying and if there is interference
