The x25 has way superior penetration , we tested ww2 rounds, the x25 went right through helmets when 9mm and 45 bounced, the x25 even went through a 70's truck rear bumper .
x25 was the most effective round of WWII. US troop fighting in Korea hated the shit out of it. Effective full auto burst out to 200 meters while .45 dropped like a brick past 100.
@@BigSmartArmed That's why I like it, and favour it over even the 9mm. :)
@@OnafetsEnovap Best smg round, and still hits harder then the current gen PDW calibers.
@@BigSmartArmed Indeed. It's just a shame there are no modern guns chambered in it (yes, the Zastava M57 Yugo-Tokarev is still being made, but that's a 1950s update of a 1930s design). If I ever design a gun, then the 7.62*25 will be the host calibre.
What type of helmets? WW2 type of helmet or modern Kevlar helmets?
The clay behind the soft armor is awesome! Really shows the energy transfer and the punishment endured.
I just tried 7.62x25 v 5.7. 7.62 went through about twice as many albums as the 5.7did. About 12 for the 5.7 with Federal ammo and about 25 for the 7.62 with mil surp ammo.
We should all be allowed the giggle guns.
It's strange that I as a German I have to tell you this. But the vests you tested from Second Chance are not made of Kevlar (aramid), but of Zylon. You can tell this by the brown color of the material. Kevlar is light yellow. It was foreseeable that the vest would not hold up because Zylon protective vests lose 20% of their protective effect after about 2 years. Several police officers have been shot throughout Cylon West. And that's why the company went bankrupt.
Exactly, that was also my first thought, as he had said the name "second chance". This Zylon stuff degrades way too fast. Kevlar would not break up or tear in that way.
I had read it resently on your blog and memories came back about the scandal of the second chance police vests.
Bad irony to call a failing vest "second chance". By the way, Kotte&Zeller sell second chance body armour for something about 130-140ish Euro (found in the online catalog a week ago) and they label them with Kevlar (!)...but of cause with the "no garantie" sentense.
for a reason, the TT pistol was considered in Russia a weapon of hired killers, because it pierced all concealed body armor.
Also because of how accessible it is and how easy it was to find a guy who made suppressors for those, including threading the barrel
I'd like to see that 7.62x25 in some ballistic gel blocks!
Years ago when surplus ammo for the x 25 was around some of the hotter machine gun rounds were rated at up to 1600FPS.
Clocked my M57 Tokarev (shooting Romanian surplus) at a high of 1560fps and a low of 1470fps. Not the most stringent quality control at the Romanian ammo factory!
@petercyprian3096 pps-43 has a 9" barrel thus greater velocity
I didnt think a 9mm had that much energy transfer to body armor!! The wax/clay really shows a lot! 😮
9mm like .22lr is no joke!
Also consider you are talking about 124gr rounds vs. 82gr Tokarev.
9mm - stopping power, 7.62 x 25 - penetration.
We got the fn 5,7 now some company should start to make a modern 7,62x25 pistol or carbine with a double stack magazine.
I personally love the old Tokarev 33s but a modern pistol would also be cool. In china they made one but its not really available in western countries
Yeah are you talking about the PX3?
Norinco makes a 7.62x25 SIG clone, we just can't buy it here
The fact you use a clay backer just put you above 99.2% of other RUclips testers. Swinging plates or the panel being flung 20 ft is not testing the capabilities of what's being tested. Thank you for doing it with some thought.
Your welcome
The clay doesn't accurately represent the human body, but it does keep it's shape when struck, so is ideal for showing energy transfer through armour. Of course, human bodies react differently, depending on size and shape, and where they are struck, so it's not really any more realistic than other types of test.
A cool submachine gun and an excellent cartridge. In my opinion, this weapon could be much better suited for tankers and pilots as a self-defense weapon, if you refine the ergonomics and a few more little things
Agreed!! I like it better than 5.7 for PDW ammo.
I can tell you this with chronograph data to back it up. A pistol gas AR15 with a 16" barrel 7.62x25 throws a 85 grain fmj at 2150 fps with 12.5 grains of Lilgun. It breaks 2200 with a 13 grain charge of H110. The cases are cut down Lake City 5.56 fire formed with a 10 grain charge of LG or H110 to get max velocity with the cases full.
7.62x25 is a mean pistol round.
Remember them performing on Paul's channel too.

7.62x25 is amazing. Got me an unopened spam can Romanian from the 80s
That level 2 looks like it's full of loft insulation😂
That Tokarev is just a nasty bee. Whether it is shot from a PPS or TT33 or M57, that 7.62x25 is just VICIOUS. Contrary to the belief of the ignorant people out there (I know, you are all shocked to hear there are ignorant folk out there when it comes to firearms), these were BALL ROUNDS, not "armor piercing".
like your range discipline you seem to be alone there but still yell clear for us watching on youtube. ❤
I appreciate that. Yep just me there.😀
I crono'd my pps43 in 7.62 tok. surplus ammo average of 5 shots was 1650 FPS.
I'm wondering if this was faster than 1450. I think it was
@@GoingBallistic I was honestly let down by my results. Apparently you can get close to 2000fps from Tok.
The Germans used to call 7.62 x 25mm the "Russian Ice Pick" for a reason, it's a phenomenal cartridge.
I would love it if you can find a TT33 or CZ52 and shoot the body armor again. Urban legend says that it will go through in the pistol length barrels.
It will. My M57 ripped through several phonebooks taped together like a hot knife through warm butter. Zipped through like I was shooting a single sheet of newspaper.
I do like the clay block. It’s so much better than a ballistic dummy because the hit opens and stays open, it freeze frames the impact 👍
damn thats such a good group with that first spray for being in full auto.
Edit: holy shit the firerate on the 7.62 hahaha
I love that 7.62 SMG! Would like to see more cheap armor tests
Love 7.62x25 fired many thousands of them.
7.62X25 was the most effective pistol/smg round of WWII. The only round that reliable penetrated steel helmets and trench cover from 100 meters out.
9х19 не пробивает и одной стенки каски времён второй мировой, 7,62х25 пробивает обе стенки каски на вылет .
9x19 does not penetrate even one wall of the helmet of the Second World War, 7.62x25 penetrates both walls of the helmet on departure.
What I like about the TOK , it cracks like a rifle out of your pistol .
For any owners of the PPS-43 in 9MM, mine, similar to a converted UZI I previously owned, like HOT loads. Barnaul is the best steel case ammo for my PPS-43, with an occasional failure to function due to low power. I usually roll my own ammo and do +P or even ++P for that heavy bolt. WARNING!!! Do not shoot these at ranges with people around. You have to guess why.
Pps-43 is my favorite sub gun. They just shoot so nice. But 7.62x25 is a powerful little round. If you get the hood surplus polish rounds they’re more like 1750fps. Cheap armor = your shot
You lucky man to own the fun guns
Dude!!! I was so happy the second I realized you went full fun on that giggle switch!!!
I bought a CZ-52 back in college as it was cheap and fun (for a while, that recoil is a bit much) to shoot. 7.62 Tok is a hot little round and rumor is the old russian ammo has some steel in it.
Я горд за наш советский патрон 7,62х25,аким мой прадед уничтожали нацистов под Сталинградом👍
Excellent visualization of the capabilities of the cartridge, bulletproof vest, and submachine gun! Thank you for the lesson.
Очень наглядно, спасибо за урок!
One comparison I’d like to see is SRC .25-45 & 6.5 Grendel. One is .223 brass necked up to 6.5mm, other appears to be 7.62x39 necked down for 6.5mm, including ballistics gel. I have an SRC upper and ammo if needed.
THAT was cool! thanks fellas!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This will be a good one I am about a min into it !
Hey Chris, another great video from beautiful Colorado! Love you guys!
Thanks so much.
Great job with this video, thank you for all your hard work and attention to detail!! As always look forward to seeing you guys post new videos....
Thanks!
7.62x 25 is known as a 9mm magnum, enough said
A Paul Harrell style "meat target" would certainly be interesting with a title 2 slant.
762x25 vs, 1/4 in steel , 3/8 steel, and 4x6. Wooden beam
Good shooting Chris 👍
Always keep multiple layers of 3A 😅 i have a layer in my carhart jacket. And my savior gun bag is also a 3A tower shield. 😅
Great video! Thanks Chris!!!
Any time!
Wow, this 7.62 smg almost assault rifle.😮
For people wanting to carry a 7.62 cal. Pistol for everyday carry how does this relate . Shooting wwii era firearms might be fun, but it really doesn't impart important information on the round .
Thank you!!! Now i know that my 6" thick clay body armor wont work. Glad i found out here. 😂❤
Glad I could help LOL
@@GoingBallistic 11 years in the army, retired, and I love the knowledge you bring to your profession as well as the humor. Much love from Washington state, brother.
7,62x25 has API rounds. But it’s really rare and not available in US IMO.
what does API mean?
API - Armor Piercing Incendiary@@muhammadnofilansari1259
@@muhammadnofilansari1259 It is fire round as the "API" stands for "armor-piercing incendiary". In short, it creates some sparkle when hits the target and can ignite flammable materials
@@vunguyenxuanhoang7422 I have used steel core rounds of this calibre it is very popular in Pakistan you'll get many 9mm Calibre pistols being modified to this round in "Darra Adam Khel ". It penetrates way more than a 9mm very lethal round, however In my opinion 7.62*25 is better for SMGs (MP-5s and UZI should be chambered in this😭) but for self defense 9mm is better because of its stopping power.
Bigger difference than I would have expected :)
Already know the 7.63x25 is superior when loaded right for smg, I'll watch the video for fun though
Thanks Chris awesome vid loved it like the clay it really demonstrates the carnage keep the great content coming 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Glad you enjoyed it
love the idea of the bullets impacting into the vest and "hitting the gut" the way you use clay shows a great example of what really happens can you do a video with higher armor class? Love the videos glad i found your channel
1450 to 1500 FPS for PPU hollow points FMJ are 1650 to 1700 FPS out of a pistol. you have just witness what it will do out of a longer barrel
The 9mms that penetrated likley missed the kevlar. Next time do 1 shot and look then do the mag dump
Great video! Nice shooting Chris!
Bro the 9mm didn't go through and look closer you missed a couple
nice video, and yes scipt through it ;). but i know your work and what i saw great like always 👌
Makes me want to get my PPS put together.
Awesome! Thanks ❤🎉
I actually got a notification!!!! It’s a good thing I have to wait on parts to finish welding 😂
Justin has a race car?! I wanna see that!
Very cool video. Nice work brother
Glad you enjoyed it
What kind of race car is it mario cart and don’t tell me his idea of house work is putting a Barbie doll house together 😂 happy late fathers to you both and everyone reading this thanks for sharing Chris be safe brother
LOL
Tok is the way to go, period.
Wish we had modern pdws and such in 7.62 tokarev
Clear ballistic gel
Pretty attractive comparison... But tell me please, why use curved magazine for the absolutely cylindrical 9mm rounds? Cannot imagine the proper way they place in there...
7.62x25mm from 30 meters pierces the Stahlhelm, so with soft armor it's not surprising.
You just have to find the PPSh-41. With the original drum mag.
71 rounds in the magazine, up to 1000 RPM... No, this is not an advertisement for PPSh, I guess... :)
Now try the 400 ledgend cut down to half length.
Man you like John Berzenk
Cool how about 3a body armor 👍. We now know that these other levels are not up to the job so let's go to the next level and see about 3a. And higher 😁👍
Full auto on an unsecured (not in a carrier) panel kinda poisons the "test" - but then this is more for entertainment than for education.
However, Now we know what will happer ;-)
the potato digger round
I never heard that bullet. But I hope it's used in movie.
That was coo
TY! Nice To See!👍
Technically it was not sucked in there it was pushed! LOL ;-)
LOL, Right
Cool, new video, thanks guys!
Thanks for watching!
Second Chance: "We said Second Chance, not Third, Fourth, Fifth...Fifteenth Chance."
LOL, True
7.62 TOK is a great 'lil subgun round. Be nice to see more handguns or pistol cal carbines chambered in such, but surplus ammo isnt as available, nor cheap, as it used to be anyways...
I question the idea behind most licenses:
As all license's truly consists of, is a method in which to pay the KingsMen/State-Fed govt a fee to legally DO after 1st paying for, then attaining said license, one now 'legally' being able to do what was previously considered ILLEGAL to take part within in the 1st place having not had the required permission?...Huh?...;)
Before one quenched the Govt's ever-thirsting policy>revenue>kontrol machine...As the olde saying goes:
"Death needs TIME for what it KILLS to GROW in"...
^That quote couldnt better describe the >>S...L...O...W>> desiccated death knell of what was once described as the C.O.T.U.S.O.A's rather stout 2nd Amendment protections...
'Protections' now WELL gut'd to the bloodied, well purree'd pieces now resting in the hands of state Governors signatures alone!? No matter if it flies in the face of our FED &/or individual State Constitutions. Sure, litigation will pursue such & be judged in a few years time from original filing date. Guess one could write a letter of protest to said State Governors? But what MORE will happen in betwixt those dates?
Saaweet vid! Thanks dood!...;)
Good, commarade!💣
I'd love to have some of that 762x25 for my TT33-C Romanian Tokarve
7.62x25 I love that round!!😮
So fun
Thank you for the video!!! Keep it up
Thanks, will do!
Could u use tok pistol instead of pps?
Интересное сравнение, спасибо за видео! )
We need 9mm sparkle fart rounds if they make them
Too much fun!
People are jus learning how smart the Russians are! 😂❤
1500fps beer can of concrete on soft body armor would be fun .
Details on the race car please! 👍👍
good shooting
Good vid for a solo run..
Appreciate it
I know you can only test what ammunition you can get, but is there anyway you can test that 9 mm ammunition that blows the lung out of the body? Maybe you could get one of those body torso that has the organs in it and see if it actually takes the lung out. I also heard a rumor that there’s one that can Stir fry a liver.
Only if the dummy swallowed a pound of….tanerite (explosives)
LOL
If you have a pistol brace you can make yourself a gun and shoot larger calibers.
@@XtreeM_FaiL can I shoot a 10gauge from my 22? Lol
