I don’t understand why y’all aren’t one of the biggest gun channels yet. Been watching y’all since just about the beginning.
Thanks for sticking with us all this time. It's people like you that keep us going. God Bless
I wonder the same thing. How does this interesting test only have 10k views where Scott's video, where he can't even name the movie correctly, has 500k views. Blows my mind.

You should do an AR plate versus 22-250 55 grain fmj bullet at around 4000 fps. Because I never see anybody doing a 22-250 versus armor,it's one of the fastest cartridges think only one faster is the 220 swift which nobody really shoots due to barrel wear from heating up barrel.
Gotta try the AR500 A1 plate. Pretty sure this ones the best that they offer in terms of stopping power.
@@BlackDogII you could put a M995 AP bullet into a .220 swift cartridge and I’m sure that would do some damage
@@ricksmith7232 yes it would with ease I bet.
I appreciate all the behind the scenes work to shoot this video.
partner shoots incredibly accurately.
I received my .50BMG Brass Opener in the mail the other day and its awesome! I also received your personal hand written note as well so thank you for that I appreciate it.
That is awesome! Thanks for the support and the comment.
9:35 Two weeks later....."Welcome to Going Ballistics, today's sponser is Safelife.....que the jingle."...lol
I must say you all took some notes in setting this up :D
Well you are the KING of body armor testing bro.
However a company in Utah set this whole thing up. We were just the delivery boys lol
@@GoingBallistic And deliver you did !
It's amazing how the camera noticeably picks up an audio difference between each round. I'm curious if it was that noticeable in real life or not. But in the video it sounds like every other round has more of a POP than the other.
it depended on witch camera was picking up wind noise. I had 3 cameras going so there is different shot sounds due to wind. Hope this helps.
@@GoingBallistic that makes more sense, and I kinda suspected as much. Thanks for the reply, you guys are great at reading and replying which says a lot about your dedication to the channel!
FRAS system is pretty expensive but too actually have flexible dragon scale type armor that stops multiple rounds is pretty valuable for flexibility/agility reasons
I personally liked the Italian model because it covers more, is light and stopped everything
I used to work for a company called Simula back in 2004-05. We manufactured body armor. Ceramic plate autoclaved with 30 layers of Kevlar I think. The good old days.
Other than the Burger King stuff, wearing any of them is a far better option than not wearing any at all.
Very true
Man I’ve been waiting for a video on the 3810lv shits awesome
That blue one is the winner for me, extra wide coverage and side panels included. May not have been the best but I'm a big guy, I needs WIDE
Awesome testing, thanks for the information and keep up the good work!
Amazing as always guys! Yall rock 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I've bought 4 sets (8 individual plates) of the lightweight lvl 4 plates from LAPG . I've got to say, for the money they are very hard to beat. They held up to multiple hits from 300 win mag and 30-06 AP. Pretty bad ass for $140 a plate 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Very fair test and made me rethink my choice.
To late after a round has gone through the cheap armour into your lungs to start thinking DAM i knew i should have spent the extra 200 bucks on the more expensive armour.
When a company limits their customer base to military and law enforcement, they are not a supporter of the 2nd Amendment! Make sure all your business goes towards Constitutional loving Companies!
I mean that’s cool there other companies that glad to sell armor to ya. Safelife , RMA, etc
Maybe they were showing their body Armor because they are planning to sell to the public?? I don't know for sure but just saying.
Australian customs will not clear for overseas sale .unless its law enforcement only
Whoa, you've just upped your game to a whole 'nother level. Well done, guys.
Thank you
@@GoingBallistic im australian and i was suprised how well the armor was seeing we banned guns
Awesome shooting nice work
Thanks gents. Good test. Good information. Good demonstration of actual hits & results. Quite helpful.
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the videos, some feedback from a regular viewer:
Some timestamps at least in the description with the product/rounds used broken by segments would be really nice. Increases ease of going back just for that moment or 2 to re-watch.
Thanks for the great videos!
I added some more info in a pinned comment. Not sure if it helps for what your looking for.
Great comparison guys - very helpful. The armor industry has exploded over the last 10 years and though there are lots of choices, there are lots of differences in armor composition and rating nomenclature as well.
Couple ideas for future armor vids:
Setup a cardboard/cloth contraption perpendicular to and surrounding the armor, to measure spalling.
Comparison vid specific to budget armor would be very helpful as well (for us poor folk ;)
Thanks again - appreciate the detailed info and your honest, thorough reviews.
Stay frosty out there folks!
To bad it did not show all level 3 armor will stop crappy .223 ammo.
This was not even close to a real or good test.
You guys did a great job on this one. Best one yet. Keep it up.
Thanks! Will do!
So much work, many thanks.
You are welcome! only 15 hours to edit . lol
Everything about this was expertly done. More.
Thanks so much
So much work has gone into this video thank you all very much.
Also very nice rifle.
Thank you! We had a lot of fun
Going Ballistic: You can’t return body armor.
Amazon: Am I a joke to you?
"those are out there by the thousands" lol...in my house alone.
See, this guy gets it.
Awesome video, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Love your consistent and detailed approach to testing things and shooting setup. Great content as always.
Thank you. It was they guys in Utah that set the whole thing up.
@@GoingBallistic But you also are always so consistent in the quality of your videos and setup
@@backspacerhino thanks, we’re hoping to hit a million subscribers one day👍
Love your vids all the way from Israel ! just a quick correction, Agilite is an Israeli company, not American :)
Thank you, Hope you are will. Thanks for the info.
Great video! Would have liked to see Caliber Armor, and Battle Steel in the mix. They both seem to be very reasonably priced but solid performing plates.
Thank you!
Интересное видео! Спасибо!
Продукции ЩШТФ нет.
Great video, very fast pace and a LOT of shooting. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Worst video they ever did.
Always phenominal content. Great test. 👍
Wow, thank you!
Great video! 👍
Great video as always guys :)
Thank you !
Great work Sir thank you
Thank you too!
Great test!!! I hope the other brands will send you some to test as well. Like Hoplite, Shellback, RTS, Shotstop, etc.
Thank you!
nice video , thank you 👍
Thanks for visiting
The Hesco 3810 did very well in my tesitng as well.
was it the 3810 or the 3810LV?
@@dm57918 Mine was the 3810. The LV is the same exact plate ballistic wise, but without the trauma foam on the back.
Coming from a family of LEO's I like the Aussie plates but my family and I could not support a company that will only sell products like body armor to law enforcement. It is every companies choice to sell their products to who ever they want and it is the consumers choice to buy from who ever we want. Great video by the way.
Why don’t they just combine the plate and the backer into a single piece? That seems like it would be much more convenient than having to insert two separate pieces in your plate carrier.
Jortimus the conqueror got to do some shooting on this 1!! I would definitely like to see some sides next to the armor to see what product controls “splash” the best as well. Great video boys! Appreciate ya both
Jortimus, LOL I love it.
It would be interesting to see how much the SLAP 12.7 BMG will go through level 4 plates. There are no videos like this on youtube.
I thought Scott (Kentucky Ballistics) did a video like that before his accident
@@GoingBallistic In the video, Scott tested level 3 metal plates, Ar 500 or AR550, no one has tested ceramic plates with SLAP yet, and it is not known how many plates it will pass
@@user-lm4cs8tr3o well we will have to do that video then.
Thanks for checking in on it.
Want to donate a plate?
I appreciate the time it took to film this content. Nice video.
I appreciate that!
I think going with a standalone plate, but then also putting the soft piece behind it would be the best thing to do, cause you got the great plate in front, then the extra soft backing behind to soften the energy on your body to some degree.
You guys are awesome. This was a really impressive video. 👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
To bad they did not use something that could show if this armor was good or not. Shooting it with .223 is pointless.
@@robertsears8323 you totally missed the point of this video (that we mentioned in the beginning)
When the 💩 hits the fan those will be the most common rounds you will be facing in the US because So many people have the AR platform and has those rounds and by the 1000’s
Sure we could have shot different rounds at them but again, that was not the point.
Gotta love how I got Burger King ads while watching this
hell yeah!
the original Terminatior T800 was actually made in Austria!!!
If you know what I mean 😁😉
I like this, you should do some more brands if you can. Maybe do a level 4 as well? Thanks
We will try
another awesome video
Thanks!
A 5.56/7.62 split on each plate would have been neat to see. Maybe next time?
9:36 Justin "Nerd"... 😂
Дякую за відео!
Thank for video!
Full science .
approach is
Very Cool...
Massive bruising vs hole through body. Hard choice 🤣🤣
Thank you! Really! 2 of my ribs broke just from watching it. Great. Got trouble with breathing now. THANK YOU, Justin. Ouch. Otherwise: Great video, as always!
Shallow breaths bro
Hesco great armor destruction great video thanks guys
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome test fellas‼️👍👍👍👍🎯🎯💯💯
Thank you! Cheers!
"Law enforcement only". Think about that for a minute folks. Sounds like what a you might hear in Russia, not America. Just think on it for a bit.
What you mean?
Their business model may just be set up to handle higher volume accounts, or they may just not have the manufacturing capability to fulfill large contracts and serve the civilian market. Not everything has to be a government conspiracy.
@@jaredmccutcheon5496 Yeah, that‘s why I asked what he meant. It sounded like some conspiracy nonsense.
@@jaredmccutcheon5496 Most is though. And the majority end up fact
Thinking way too hard man
Nice test !
Thank you! Cheers!
Did u guys use Justin’s leggings from his jeans to do the f.b.I ballistics gel test that’s why they became shorts 😂😂😂 wow amazing stuff thanks for sharing helps a lot with choosing guys be safe have a great day
LOL
Safe lite had 2 in left center where you found the damage to the shoulder
We use ShotStop Duritium GT2 III+ plates
Would love to see a 4 plate in a carrier on a gel torso take a burst from 7.62x54R at 50 to 100 yards just for research and destruction purposes
Wait. Yall went to shot show and didn't share any of it with us? Shame shame fellas.
We will be there this January. Let's meet up?
Спасибо за видео, интересно.
Woah, that's quite the collection you have there sir. It would be a shame if something happened to all of those plates... ;)
I would like to see Guard dog level four tested like that
Gr8 stuff guys 👍 US Aussies don't do things in halves 👌👍👍🇺🇸🇭🇲
I'd take the Italian armor because best cover area.
one of the best, with the X's and hitting all around the plate.
Gunshots the Sound of Freedom !
Hey man a suggestion for a video have you heard of the cheek pistol concept? Forgotten weapons Ian did a video or 2 on & id love to hear your opinion on it. Or better yet see what set up you would suggest to try and make it work better. Heck How about best gun to shoot down drones im thinking buck shot and a red dot shotgun semi auto of course.
Sounds like something we could look into
I think my homemade ar500 steel armor has better edge protection fragmentation protection is cheaper than all of that($70 for 2 plates) but is heavy as homemade sin (20-30lb)without any curves (I DO NOT recommend anybody else try this,. Just because I'm confident enough to trust my life with it DOES NOT mean you should be, I did tons of research into how body armor is made as well as making sure that I sourced my material properly from reputable industrial supply companies)
i really wish for this video to go well view wise and helps you channel grow faster, especially considering the monetary investment getting all those plates and the behind the scenes work.
Me too. But for some reasons unknown to me they keep taking subscribers away from me. I just lost 40 overnight.
But Momma didn't raise a quitter.
Great video. Awesome shooting Justin as usual lol. Curious though. What's that piece at the end of the gun barrel?
It was the chronograph
@@GoingBallistic never seen one like that. Pretty cool. Thanks for the reply.
Magnetospeed
i think justin would win and chris would be left in his under pants ... awesome shooting justin
So true. LOL
an Australian here....unfortunately the Australian government / customs won't let them export them for public use. Hence the law enforcement only thing. its just pointless bureaucracy
Thanks for the comment.
The 3rd one did go through
the kevlar vest better be stab proof too
anoter awesome video ;)
great
Thank you! Cheers!
id like to see the spartan armor ar550 with extra buildup coating tested vs 20inch 5.56. i can only find 2 videos of 20 inch with m193 vs ar550 at cqb distance and ar550 stopped both of them. but i want to know what CAN penetrate ar550 plates.
RUclips had unsubscribed me from your channel, back on now 😂👍
yeah for some reason every time I release a new video they take subscribers away and like clockwork you all comment saying you've been deleted.
Thanks SO much for sticking around.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but FRAS (size L at just 18 pounds) offers the best coverage-to-weight ratio considering its flexibility.
It may be expensive, but we're talking potentially saving a life.
I always wondered what the pressure would be like getting hit wearing ceramic and steel? I would think steel?
Nice comparison video. Those hillbilly Jean shorts 🤣
Right?!
Thanks. Very interesting and informative video. I don't know, but I would think that most of the people who are dying from bullet wounds are being shot with a handgun unless you are a security guard, police person or are around the Mexican border or something like that. Every now and then some crazy person with an AR who is planning on dying himself will shoot up a school, store or etc, but in general I don't hear much about normal crime deaths being by AR's. Again, I don't know, but just a thought. Again thank, a good video with a lot of work put into. You guys take care.
Even though they stop the lead or steel. What about g-force shock that would stop your heart?
Can you test out Shellback Tactical body armor? I got some and want to know if it is any good mine says rated to AP30-06 and can’t find video where anyone shoots it to test it……. Love the videos guys
Sure, send it to us and we will shoot it;-) If we can afford some we will. We didn't buy these plates some cool dude did.
I have some Shellback tactical plates, and I think mine are just rebranded RMA 1189 plates.
If to wear armor, would buy something that can take multiple hits, and not break up, an AR 500 type armor would be my go to, with some added Kevlar
Wore the military ceramic plates, good for a few hits then it's done, at least steal could take multiple more hit
Wendy's over BK comment is GOLD
Thank you.
Please test the RMA 1155!!! With some 30-06 AP!!!!
Where is the chart that was mentioned? I'd love to see those rating numbers you graded each plate you mentioned.
I have the Freeman plate carrier and I'm really disappointed that nobody on the internet has shot the Freeman plates. I'm very poor and I can't replace my plates if I shoot them myself.
I've never heard of them. There are so many body armor companies out there
@@GoingBallistic it's a small plate carrier by ar500. It uses special shaped plates. I know there are lots of different plates but the Freeman is the only one of it's kind. And it's made by a major company like ar500. It's also the cheapest armor setup on the market as far as I know.
But there's not a single video of anybody shooting it. Not even ar500 has a video of them shooting it.
why didnt you shoot the rts ceramic plate.that what i have lol
