      They are all pretty much similar, only vary slightly from model to model depending on battery size.

    Can we still see the battery health once we replace the battery or do we lose that feature on iphone 7?

    Why wouldn’t you instruct to remove the screen cables first? This would prevent what happened during my install of the digitizer or home button ribbon breaking while cleaning up all the adhesive.

      Isn't the answer that, as the video actually says, the first thing to do is unplug the battery when working on any phone?

    • @Harryd06
      @Harryd06 2 года назад

      cause that over simplifies stuff, just lean the display on against a box or somethin

    • @CarRestorations5150
      @CarRestorations5150  Год назад +1

      Hey, always remember rule number 1 when working on any phone as soon as you open it the first thing to unplug ALWAYS is the battery. This will prevent you from frying your Motherboard or Filters (backlight, screen etc..)( If you unplug the screen flex first with digitizer there is a great chance that because the battery is still plugged in and the phones getting power you will short the screen causing a blown filter or capacitor or resistor. Also a good idea even after unplugging the battery to always touch a ground in the house to discharge any static electricity that might be built up in you causing static shock which could not only destroy your screen but also you motherboard ESD.)
      and to answer your question if you do not remove the screen and connectors you will not be able to properly clean the edge and re apply new screen seal. The screen is removed not to damage the very fragile screen flex ribbons (very easily done and ripped) a very small micro tear which you wont even see unless working under a microscope will cause you throw the screen away and get a new one (unless you have a microscope a steady hand and are confident doing micro-soldering), (will be uploading videos soon on torn flex ribbon repairs) that's the best case scenario. Worst case scenario is you accidentally pull the connector that's on the motherboard. that will require micro-soldering to fix. So to prevent all this it's just easier to carefully unplug the battery followed by the screen flex ribbons and get the screen totally out of the way. Doing this will save you allot of time and stress believe me. 😀

    Can we remove battery without removing those white sticker?

    • @CarRestorations5150
      @CarRestorations5150  3 года назад +2

      Hi, i would advise not to as the battery will be very difficult to take out with the risk of ripping, tearing or deforming the old battery which could very easily lead to the battery swelling and exploding in your face or catching fire which is the last thing you want believe me it is very very dangerous. If you remove the white sticker strips the battery will just fall out with no stress at all. I hope this helps and let me know how you go with it
      😊👍

      What is work of those stickers beneath the battery?

    • @CarRestorations5150
      @CarRestorations5150  3 года назад +2

      Hi, they are there to securely hold the battery in place and stop the battery from knocking about in the phone housing, which could possibly lead to damaging other internal components. I would recommend using them. They are not that hard to remove just a bit of time, patients and some long tip tweezers. And are very easy to install with new battery not even 30 seconds. For these reasons I would highly recommend using them 😀

      Do we have to buy new stickers for installing a new battery?

    • @CarRestorations5150
      @CarRestorations5150  3 года назад

      You can try to re use them but you will find it very very difficult and when they are removed they just wrinkle and ball up. So I would recommend getting new ones for only a dollar or two or 1 or 2 € so for that price it’s worth it. They also stick better too

    can we replace the battery without removing the screen?

    • @CarRestorations5150
      @CarRestorations5150  3 года назад +3

      Hi Zyna, yes you can change the battery without removing the screen. But the reason I always do is because you should also remove and change the old screen sealer. That is there to properly glue the new lcd into place and also to stop water and moisture from getting into the phone and motherboard. Especially when it rains and people are on their phone. This can have quite a big impact on your motherboard and components. That is why I always do it and also would highly recommend you to also. The screen seal is very cheap only 1 or 2 dollars so it’s well worth it in the long run. Thanks for the question 🙋‍♂️ 🙂

      Hi, thanks for asking. The cotton buds were dipped in isopropyl alcohol which is 99.9% to clean and sterilise the edge section of the frame where the new screen seal will go so that it sticks well. 🙂

      Hey, You need to double check the small flex cable if it is connected correctly to the connector. The flex is very thing and fragile on the home button. Must be very very careful when handling the home button. If you've done it correctly it is just not plugged in correctly. Wish you luck ;)

    Hmmmmm.. you plugged new battery in then continued working on replacing screen, speaker/shield etc after saying always disconnect battery while working on phone. Naughty naughty.

    • @CarRestorations5150
      @CarRestorations5150  3 года назад +1

      The new battery was plugged in just to seat it correctly and so to properly sit once stuck down, you will find that if battery sticks slightly off you may have problems connecting it without putting too much strain on the FPC connector. After this the battery was disconnected and not connected until the very end. I apologise for the editing as it does not show this. But as stated it is vital that the first thing done is disconnection of the battery and the last thing before closing the phone. Also a good idea before any work is to touch a grounding wire to make sure to get rid of all static electricity stored in the body. This is also done if performing any sort of micro soldering or logic board level repairs
