- THIS is who I am - A MAKEOVERGUY Power of Pretty Transformation
Kathy so eloquently put into words exactly what a MAKEOVERGUY Power of Pretty Transformation Experience is about. After her makeover she said, "THIS IS WHO I AM"
Her candor and ability to honestly express her story, “The Why” behind her makeover, made it a mutually fulfilling experience.
"The fact that I can look in the mirror and be proud of what I look like and like what I see makes me stand a little taller. And it makes me feel more confident. You spend a lot of time putting on a face for what you think others want to see. Let me be what you want. Let me mold myself into that person that you’re looking for. What happens when you do that, you lose a part of yourself. You get to a point where you don’t know who you are anymore.
"I don’t have to be afraid to show me. This is who I am."

I am so fortunate to have had this life changing experience. It is SO much more than a new hairdo and some makeup. They took the time to get to know me... to understand the person hiding beneath the fears and self doubt. They helped bring that person to the surface and made her SHINE. Thank you all for the wonderful, heartfelt comments. It makes my heart smile!
This is only the beginning of the lives you will touch, Kathy. Thank you for responding. :).
The things that happen to us when we were young does not define us our whole life. So happy Christopher helped you find "You". Your heart has healed, your eyes are wide open and the world is all yours. You have become a beautiful butterfly. 🦋
Fly High Beautiful!
So honored to have been able to share three days with you Kathy. Sharing your personal stories with strangers takes an incredible amount of bravery and trust. Reading all these comments is a bit overwhelming. You have made quite an impression beautiful Lady! Hugs and Kisses!❤❤❤
Your early life experiences also made you who you are today...the makeover is just icing on the cake...have fun with it...hugs.
Oh Ms Walker, you certainly deserved that gorgeous makeover… and more. BTW you were absolutely gorgeous already even without it but it obviously will help you overcome a little your wounds. I can relate to what you endured and one cannot completely heal from that abrupt reality that you discovered at such an early age : some people are sadics disguised as « good » parents. Since they cannot buy slaves to be tortured for their vile pleasure, they give birth to them. I do not think one can ever completely heal from that but you can take pride in never having taken after your so called « mother » and in being the best mankind has to offer as opposed to your genitor (God! You even had her at home!!!!)
And again…. Congratulations on that beautiful makeover
Kathy was a wonderful, sensitive, smart woman with whom to work. So proud of the way she shared her story which of course was not always easy. Loved my time with her.
This poignant, honest, and heartfelt woman, Kathy, has been reborn. Seriously, I have chills and tears. She is so entirely beautiful inside and out, and my hope is this is helps her heal and shine, shine, shine! Christopher and your team, SIMPLY WOW!!!
I Felt you Restored the Beauty she Always had …her young pictures were So Attractive - Now she can Live the Life she was Not allowed to. ♥️ ♥️
What? Were those *four* languages I heard spoken there?! Let me tell you Kathy, you were *always* worthy, always beautiful, always talented. Thank God you found the love you so desperately needed with your husband and kids. And Christopher, you did indeed bring out her true, spectacular self! Amen, sister!!
Shine bright Kathy your so beautiful and deserve happiness!
J enjoy your life on your terms, surrounded only by those who appreciate your presences !
You said it Best!!! Cheers to Kathy!! Christopher you and your team are truly angels on earth♥️
Hello Kathy , you are absolutely stunning ! thank you for your honesty openness & willingness to be vulnerable . I was amazed , as I listened to your story, by the parallels in our lives - it sounds like our mothers went to the same school of parenting ... I wanted to give you a big long hug !I
We are so fortunate to have summoned the inner strength to break free , believe in ourselves , and work hard to achieve our goals. When I grew up I realized that there were reasons for her behavior, but I chose to focus my energy on living a creative and productive life.
I, too, chose to help my elderly mother (she softened a lot with age ) but I grew to understand that she had most likely suffered from mental illness most of her life. Congratulations on creating a life of your own choosing….you are beautiful INSIDE AND OUT !❤️
@Christopher, each time I see your work with all these women I can see the beauty in your eyes and your generosity. You have a big 💖 You are so generous and respectful.
Shhh! There are so many who want to assume it's all shallow and superficial... Just like me! :)
Kathy, I remember hiding under my bed feeling useless and terrified, ugly and stupid, crying my eyes out. Thank you for sharing your story and for finding the strength to save yourself. You’re awesome!
Kathy, you were an abused child. Your mom didn't seem to have the tools for self-introspection. Yet, here you are an evolved and kind, empathetic woman and taking your mother back into your own home.. Chris is such a talented, lovely makeover artist! You look so amazing, and you deserve all of this positive attention! Wishing you many happy days and years ahead!
Oh my goodness did we have the same Mom!?This makeover was something else. But Kathy the beautiful smile you have was the most beautiful thing of all.You look like a movie star!
Her mother treated her so poorly when she was a child - destroyed her, and yet she took her into her home to care for her when she was old. This woman is beautiful inside, and you brought out her beauty with this makeover! You are magical!🌸💖🌸
Stunning lady, I am glad she shared her story of the really hard time she had as a child and the fact that she is now caring for her mother. I learned a quote a long time ago which was very helpful “ forgive your parents, they were probably broken before you got them” I had the most wonderful mother an Angel who walks this Earth, but my dad was an alcoholic who couldn’t show love, he was broken from his childhood, he’s gone now, I miss him every single day.
Stunning make over, stunning lady x
Robyn, there are many women who knows your childhood pain. Please enjoy the rest of your life as someone of value and worth. We believe in you. The best is yet to come for you!!!
Kathy, you persevered, you survived, and you've learned to love yourself when the people who should have loved you, didn't. I hope you always love yourself this way. You are WORTHY of all the good things you can get in this life. I feel privileged to have seen your story. Thank you for sharing!
I totally understand this beautiful lady’s story. She is a survivor.
That hair color was so unexpected but PERFECT! She looked magnificent!
Kathy, you're really brave to speak up for children who had unkind parents. You deserve a happy life!! Glad you have it now.
What strikes me is that a photo doesn't tell the truth. When we see happy smiling faces on a photo it can hide what is much deeper, what that person has been through and what they are dealing with in their alone moments, in their challenging moments facing their deepest issues brought about through childhood trauma. I'm so happy that she had this wonderful makeover experience and shared her story with us. It's the story of many. With much love to us all xxx
I thought the same thing. Looking at those childhood photos, an outsider would never guess anything was wrong. And how gracious is it of her to take her mother in after all that abuse.
It was time for her to have her Cinderella moment. A Beautiful, elegant person!
Christopher J. Hopkins...this is one of your best yet...the worlds a better place with you in it. Soul healer...and a pretty darn good singer and hair dresser too.
You can leave out "hairdresser" whenever referring to me. :). But you got my middle initial. So: Thank you!
@@MAKEOVERGUY you are very much respected and loved Christopher.
You are very kind to take in a mother who abused you. You are beautiful and on the inside and outside.
I'm so sorry she had such a tough childhood. My mother was exactly the same and having my own child made me feel what the love a parent has for their child should be. She's so beautiful 😍
Hard to believe thats the same woman. May her Light Shine Forever!
Beyond heartbreaking to hear how her mom treated her. What a strong and beautiful lady she is! She more than deserved to be pampered with a make over, she looks amazing!
I hope this strong lady gets involved in a local theater group and lives out her dream of acting and singing if she is not involved in a theater group already.
Christopher, a "where are they now" would be so interesting. What happens when these amazing ladies go home? I truly hope for great and beautiful things. 💗🙏
Thanks Christopher for what you do for these women. Including their life story shows how the transformation affects them deeper that just a look. Kathy looks amazing. She made me cry. The compassion she showed to her mother despite her abuse, tells tons of Kathy. She is a beautiful person inside and out. God bless her and all the team that makes these transformations a reality.
We appreciate that. It is not always easy to explain what goes on in a makeover. A before and after are never enough.
Okay, I know this sounds corny, but this make-over actually made me tear up. You pulled out all of her inner beauty and just made her glow! Absolutely magical.
Wow!! This woman’s story was similar to mine with my mother. Including my mother’s “selective amnesia”. I am so happy for her to get this makeover & new lease on her life!💝👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You radiate at the end of this! Stunning transformation…your outside matches your beautiful soul. Congratulations!!
Mothers from that generation weren’t always gentle, they ruled with fear and that has scarred the children. We need to treat each other with love and kindness. Christopher and his team really bring out the beauty in every woman they makeover.
I had a mother from that generation. But we won't get into that. :)
Yes, that was the way it was, but didn’t have to be.
And Christopher and his team truly do bring out the best in every woman. They are truly wonderful, kind, attentive souls. Love them!
OMG - Kathy is stunning. The updated "frosty" hair with the center part really brings out her classic beauty. And that outfit is chic and looks comfortable! Perfect for Florida.Thank you!
Kathy is gorgeous! I felt her pain. It was wonderful to see her come out shining on the other side happy and joyful. Very well done Christopher and team you have helped another beautiful soul with added healing. ❤️
Feeling others' pain isn't so fun, is it?
Kathy - I don't know what to say. This is an outstanding transformation. Let me say I am sorry for how you were mistreated. So much of your story is familiar to many. Your bravery in articulating the pain of your childhood experience is admirable. Your makeover is so brilliant because you have reached your full potential. While you were beautiful in your younger years, something about this makeover makes you even more beautiful today. Glad you found your happiness in this experience... You deserve every good thing coming your way!
Thank you for your kind words. Kathy was quite brave to share her story, but she was ready. Spending three days with Kathy was magical. Because of Kathy, I am a better person. Her life story will help, comfort and support many who had similar experiences. No on needs to feel alone. Keep watching, enjoying our videos. Please share Kathy's story with your family and friends; you never know who might just need some encouragement. 😘
I lived with less physical abuse from the mom but horrific verbal and emotional and mental abuse instead. It was the "Great Expectations" scenario come to life. I was 53 years old when I finally figured out the reason. She was gone at this point. Just sharing this.
You are stunning with your new looks !! ❤
I'm so sorry that you also had to endure abuse...I'm glad that you made it through..🤩😍🥰🤗
I cried over this one... I had a shitty childhood too. She looks so glamorous!! 👏👏👏
You should try editing it and putting it all together!
@@MAKEOVERGUY ohhhh. Yes, that would be difficult!! 🤭
You look amazing but more importantly I think you feel amazing, inside and out! I'm so sorry for your mom/daughter relationship but the fact that you are taking care of her in her latter years speaks volumes about your heart and soul. Hugs.
Wow she is so strong. That she didnt let her mother poison motherhood for her is amazing. So many people who have gone through something similar never want children. I'm glad she was able to break the cycle and find happiness.
Amazing! Christopher and the team (pup included) did it again!
amazing how this lady grew up with such flair and personality after her horrible child hood.
she is very generous letting her mom live with her. may her continue being as beautiful as she is inside and outside. Christopher did a great job as always.
Mom was supposed to be a Mother not a Monster! God Bless this beautiful woman for the rest of her life and give her abundant JOY! 🙏
Oh my lord I'm so soooooo sorry that this poor woman went through this with such a HORRIFIC MOTHER. Then she was ANGELIC ENOUGH to take care of an ABUSIVE MOTHER?! THIS WOMAN IS AS STRONG AS THEY COME. A TRUE 😇👼😇.
What a beautiful courageous soul. Christopher, you helped her match exterior match her inner self. 💕🥰
Christopher along with his mother are not only making people pretty but they are changing lives.
I'm sorry for her pain but she has rose above it and made it. And now she looks beautiful on the outside. Absolutely amazing job, Christopher!
Oh and the dog is adorable. Dogs are the best.
Christopher.... you are so incredibly handsome
There are parents in this world who tear down their own vulnerable, impressionable and innocent children because of their inability to control the hurt and anger they have experienced in their own life. These children grow up with this undeserving mistreatment and hurt. They become adults who are hurt and never forget the pain of their own experiences. But out of that, a beautiful, caring woman, wife, and mother is made, still. She was better equipped and emotionally stronger than her own mother. Thankfully that cycle has been broken. She is the winner here - inside and out.
Im sry 4 all you endured but was so plzd to see u found REAL love w your beautiful boys!!! U r gorgeous in every way!❤💙💖💞💚💯
I am blown away by this transformation. She looks regal and powerful. Her mother sounds so abusive and it was never this woman’s fault. I think you have a beautiful family. I am so glad you had this makeover and we’re treated with the love and admiration that you deserve.
Watching these stories I can only agree with you that hidden under all the "frump" -- a result of early negative conditioning of the inner child -- is a confident and magnificent, real woman! What a wonderful transformation in Kathy! Cheers to “The Power of Pretty”!
Abusers have a selective memory. What a lovely woman. She is gorgeous!!
Kathy, you’re very striking! The color looks very natural and complements your skin tone perfectly.
Christopher what can we say? You’re amazing!
Fabulous haircut brings out her feminine side so well
I Love everything about this beautiful transformation.
It's marvellous.
The colours really suit her.
Her hair is simply amazing.
👏
Thank you so much!
My Gosh Kathy...you are a Beautiful Butterfly..just needing to emerge from your Cocoon!
You look amazing, and I must say, you are one strong lady to survive and accomplish all you did on your own. I went thru a similar experience with my Dad, who never made feel good about myself. I admired him for his ability to accomplish so many things, and was admired by so many, but was not a happy man.
I look back now and realize He was the one with issues, but as a child you don’t see it because all you do is dwell on your Own insecurities that constantly brought you down .
I’m just so very happy for you and your Happy Ending. Enjoy the ‘new beautiful you’ that was Always there, with Christopher’s help. 💕
I had the same life as you did. My mother beat me relentlessly. She used whatever was handy, belt, hard wood, leather Cat O, 9 tails, heal of a shoe. I feel your pain. Even as an adult I couldn't get away from her abuse, mostly verbal! My mother had 3 biological sons. I was adopted, a girl. I ran away multiple times. Met my husband at 15 and we are married 53 years. He is so sweet and loves me so much, as I love him. ❤ Guess who took care of her in her old age? And on her death bed I was with her. Never once did she ever tell me she loved me. I don't miss her at all! I hope you get the makeover of your dreams. Good luck to you.
I'm not surprised that you took care of her in her old age and when she was dying. And I'm not surprised she never told you she loved you or cared for you. Somehow, mothers of our generation (which I think we are of the same or close because of the number of years you've been married) believed that "coercive control" was the way to bring up daughters.
I wasn't adopted, but I often wondered if were as a young child, for I constantly yearned for love and affection. I heard her boasting to other mothers about not displaying open love and attention to children, for it got in the way of discipline.
Yet, like you, I didn't turn my back on her when she needed care and attention in her old age. And I'm so glad that you found a good husband who gave you as much love as you needed. Unfortunately, I wasn't as lucky on that front. He strayed after 43 years. I have a wonderful son though, who has turned out such a well balanced person. I gave him a lot of love, affection and attention while he was growing up. I chose to discipline him by teaching him about life, and by being open and talking to him whenever he had questions. We have a beautiful relationship, and he's now a perfect husband and father.
The one thing I do to be able to keep going and remain in good spirits is to keep looking after myself and never let myself go. When I look and feel good, it helps not to lose control emotionally. So then, I remain positive and focused. Focused to keeping on.
Sending you love and light! 💙
Thanks for answering me. 🙂 you and I are pretty strong. You looked beautiful before the makeover, so let me just say you still look beautiful. Absolutely love your hair. I'm so happy fort you. And my age is 69. I have 3 kids. The oldest one (boy) would be 53 passed 7 yrs ago. My second child (boy) is 47. My youngest (girl) is 45. She is a quadriplegic for 17 yrs. Diving accident. I am still a glass half full kind of person. You take care of yourself. Sending❣
Amazing Christopher You brought her beauty out ♥️
You are beautiful. The finished product brought tears to my eyes. I have nothing but good thoughts about you keeping up the look.
WOW!!! She’s Beautiful❤️ The fact that she actually took in her mother to care for her when her mother didn’t deserve it shows you what a Beautiful soul she is. Inside and out!
Amen!
Your comments make me cringe! We are supposed to honor our mother and father. When you're our ages, (meaning over the age of 60), it was common place to discipline by spankings and belting and paddling. Even in school, misbehaved young children, yes, even all through high school were disciplined this way! We don't know the whole story, and while I sympathize with her emotional outbursts and crying, you cannot simply say her mother didn't deserve it! I took care of my mother during her last days. I too had a physically disciplined childhood. I was hit with anything she could get close to sometimes, even had to go cut a "switch" off our weeping willow tree. Btw..the small ones hurt the most! Lol... But in those last years, my mother and I grew closer than words can express. She had early Alzheimer's and was so loving and sweet. My mother did the best she could with three young children, two in diapers at the same time...cloth diapers she hand washed. She was strict and had an explosive temper. She was my MOTHER and forgiveness set us free to love and experience the best relationship ever. She was murdered for her millions, and I can't wait to see her again in Heaven. Forgive each other and set your souls free.
And, finally, you break on through, and, with a little three-day sojourn through the Power of Pretty, everything falls into place, and you are here, truly your own person, inside and out!
She is gorgeous! Great job crew!
I hope this dear lady enjoys every day of her life, confident in herself.
This is one of my favorites makeover for so many reasons. My mother was over the top with discipline just like this lady. She so deserved this makeover. Well done. She looks beautiful
So many suffer in silence , glad she had a chance to be heard and seen for the beauty within and out❤️
Hey Kathy, that makes at least 2 of us from Cape Coral that have had this makeover! I agree it is a life changing adventure!
And now you're BLONDE BLONDE! It looks great. falap ball change.
@@MAKEOVERGUY Yep! And now I have added pickle ball to my routine which is required of all Florida residents. 😉
I can relate to her in every way. Your on your way.
That is my aspiration. A voice that speaks to others who can't say it, but know it.
I hope this message gets to Kathy. I hope Kathy realizes she is not alone with her struggles with her past. I, too, was raised by the same type of woman. Over time, the shoes, belts, spoons, were not enough. Hence, her favorite weapon of choice became the cord from an electric coffee pot. I, too, was petrified of her. I hid as much as I could when she was home. Not the best circumstances to grow up in. But we do become the strong, confident and LOVING women we know we must be in spite of it all. Kathy, you showed your true colors when you took this woman under your roof. You showed what a beautiful person you are. Now, your exterior is as wonderful as your heart. I am so sorry you didn't have a mother to rely on. I am sorry you had to live with a woman who was incapable of loving. You're a beautiful person. And, you are not alone.
Hi Pat, thank you for your heartfelt message! I know many of us in this generation were subjected to "fear-based" parenting. Unfortunately for me, that childhood fear turned into anger, teenage rebellion, and confusion over what "love" really meant. It took many years to understand that my mother was doing to me what was done to her. And, thankfully, I chose to raise my children very differently!!
And YES, we do become the strong, confident and LOVING women we know we must be… and Christopher, Robert, Joann, Kayla and Jamie helped bring that confidence to the surface.
Oh my god, we could be twins! This is MY story too! Mine made me play the violin and I wanted to play the piano. She did all the embarrassing things to me publicly and abusive things to me in our home and in public - man I feel all of this. Mine unalived herself and I was blamed for it like everything else. I am so sorry you felt that way too. My goal is to have a makeover too. Girl you are stunning! I love this one so much!!!
How heartfelt was her story ❤️ She had a wonderful transformation. God bless you 🙏
Sending love & good vibes to this strong beautiful woman. I was known as Kathy for 62 years. I finally got the courage to change my nickname since Kathy wasn't loved, or protected. Not everyone approves of my chosen nickname which is not recognized in USA circles... I'm happy with it so I don't care. ☮️💞🙏🏼
I hope your new name brings you love and peace!
The more I see Christopher's videos, the more I realized the quality and all the blessings he has in his hands and soul!!! This lady looks spectacular!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤ His mother and him are doing a great job!!!!!!
She is Beautiful and Just Awesome!! I had the same sort of Mother growing up, I felt like she was telling my story,,,,my heart goes out to her!
This one makes me so, so happy! What an emotional transformation! It's hard, but try to erase your mother's insecurities from your mind. Bless you, you are gorgeous.
“You’re a wild one and I need to break you” whoa this one really got to me. Kathy’s story reminds me of my life and it got me right in my heart! Kathy you’re stunning and an incredible inspiration! Beautiful Christopher thank you!
The woman is dynamite! She is brilliant on the inside and outside! Blessings to her and her family!
Wow! Not the same woman, inside or out. Fabulous teamwork. Beautiful!
She’s a beautiful lady! A lot of us had a mother like that unfortunately. She made it through and she shines!
Beautiful hair and make-up. You have revealed her hidden beauty . Bravo Christopher, Kayla and all of the others who make miracles. What a caring person. She deserve to be happy and feel all of the love we have for her. I wish her to be proud and happy.
What a beautiful and touching story for a lovely, gracious and very feminine lady. Both you and your story shimmer and SHINE! Christopher, you so, so so, do really, really care about the innermost person, struggling to be seen - and known. Bless you!
You did a phenomenal job on her!
Growing up abused I can relate to her life. I'm sorry that happened to her or anyone. You are more than what you came from. Remember that to anyone in that situation.
She is absolutely right ! It’s effects you so many ways !
She looks Beautiful!
She is absolutely beautiful. I hope she understands her mother cannot define who she is. The past is past. Go forward and enjoy life. Be all that you want to be.

Remarkable transformation: The gorgeous, articulate, sensitive and creative person that she is!
MY HEART IS RIGHT WITH HER !
My mother died when I was 14. Even at that age I understood that it could have been worse. I was already aware of child abuse. I'm so sorry that you all went through that: Kathy and all of you in the comments section here. Thank you Christopher and all other healers for your kindness and care.
Oh my goodness I can totally relate to your story Kathy. The fact that you wanted the outside to match your inner self is great. You were pretty before and now your even prettier.I'm jealous lol.
What a beautiful woman inside and out. Good for her. Wonderful job Christopher as always. 😊😊
Wow, what a special lady, she is beautiful from the inside, you found it and brought it forward !
Your company creates happiness and confidence for these women.
You did a fantastic job as always!! Christopher you and your mother are amazing. Not only do you make the outside beautiful, you bring out their inside beauty as well! I Love You......xo
Oh, Kathy ... I think we grew up in the same family. God bless your sweet heart. I am so happy for you that you got to work with Christopher and the team.
You are *beautiful*, inside and out!! 💗💗💗
Hurtful voices, violent acts
Craft our choices, twist the facts
Color all we think and feel
Though we deny their power
They're real
Kathy's found her truth, despite
The harsh attempts to dim her light
Her Transformation will make clear
Uncompromising, she stands here
Beautiful!
The words just pour from your soul. I can't keep up.

One of the best make overs ive ever seen what a lovely person
She’s free! What a great gift to herself!
She looks beautiful. Amazing woman to take her mom in after everything she did.
Seems in the end, the mom was completely wrong about her daughter.
A true class act.
Enjoy your new look ♥️
She looks fabulous,I’m glad she didn’t allow her mother to break her spirit as happens to so many abused children, also that she didn’t perpetuate the abuse with her own children.
She looks fabulous! Just beautiful.
Little Miss Cinderella..what a beautiful woman!!! I know all about those belts, spoons, and what ever mothers can crab to hit you with..I know this woman is an amazing mother and person ❤️
Dearest Kathy, you are a very beautiful woman inside and out.
Your story breaks my heart.
Sending you lots of love.
Go out there and shine like the star you are. 💖💖💖
